My event had a lot going on, and the bar was a hit! Its where guests mostly seem to hang, so I set the space for it right in the middle of my party. The owner of Bartending Babes, Deshawn, printed out nice menus for specialty cocktails that we had decided on with her a couple of weeks before the event, that she framed and brought the day of, along with all of the bar stuff I wouldn't have thought to get. The bartenders arrived on time, dressed like professionals, including ties which I had requested, and they took care of every detail about the set up, making it possible for me to focus on everything else. The drinks were delicious! There wasn't one hiccup, and so many of my guests made it a point to mention what a great bar i had, and ask me for their contact info. I just can say enough about how friendly and reliable everyone was, from the owner on down. I was proud to have them, and would hire again, plus I would recommend them to anybody who wants a bar at their party! read more

I would have given them a 0 star if I could. I hired them 4 times and twice they were NO SHOW. They confirmed a bartender but she never showed up. They did not have any contingency and never gave a substitute. It is a disaster if the bartender never shows up last minute and you have guests arriving. What a HORRIBLE experience. DO NOT RECOMMEND booking them. I booked them for 3 hours with mix n match package for 15$ per person. I paid the deposit and they came on time. We had a group of 15 friends chatting over a table. We barely had any conversation with the bartender. After 40 mins, the bartender left silently and sneakingly without saying a word. I called up the manager later and she told me that the bartender felt that we are rude and she had no idea how he felt that way? Next day the manager asked for the full payment and I politely asked her to send me the bill of the goods as I am unhappy paying for $15 per person but I am willing to pay for her actual costs because we didn't get the service promised. To my amazement, she threatened to take me to court in the very next message.. I don't understand what mindset is this or what business they are running. Our party went downhill and all the guests were puzzled to why the bartender left. In any case, contacting the host for any issue would have been more professional and impactful than leaving without notice. And obviously threatening to sue for 200$ is the cherry on the cake for the amazing service delivered. To the manager, you are welcome to take your liquor package because it is unused and also take your $200 because I can't care less at all. Update after deshawn reply: The lady agreed to postpone and i had requested the postpone in a day. If that was an issue then she shouldn't have agreed. I wouldn't mind the deposit. I am sure any of the guest can request for faster service. If you have a problem then contact the host and let them know of your situation. Very unprofessional to leave silently. They give 1hr for setup and the party started at 7 and bartender fled at around 7:40. I called her up at 8. The package is intact madam. You can collect it or get it delivered to you because the bartender left before serving it. I am right to dispute paypal deposit as there is no service offered. Paypal couldn't reverse it because it is not under credit policy. Sadly, but you didn't win the case. The review is for everyone to avoid this business. Excellent service! I planned a retirement ceremony for my mom on the USS Hornet, a decommissioned WW2 aircraft carrier in Alameda, CA.  My wife and I hired the Bartending Babes to provide a beer & wine service to 55 guests.  Planning the event from Florida (where we live) was difficult and the Hornet had multiple legal & venue requirements for bar tending service.  DeShawn proactively called and worked with the venue to ensure she was in compliance.  We did not have to deal with it which saved us a lot of stress. My mother has specific tastes in wine, which was not a problem as DeShawn allowed us to pick exactly the kinds of wines and beers we wanted to serve.  She also included additional cider options when we asked. We picked, she ordered and had them delivered to the venue.  We were able to serve exactly what we wanted.   The night of the event DeShawn and her assistant arrived on time for a difficult load in (drinks had to be carried into the ship and down some very steep stairs).  The bar was set up ahead of schedule which was a great relief to us. Half way through the evening I walked out to the buffet to grab a bite and found DeShawn helping tidy the buffet after the guests had gone through.  The buffet was not her responsibility; she had just noticed it needed attention and did it.  I was greatly impressed by her proactive dedication to the appearance of not only the bar but also to the entire event. At the end of the evening I noticed that DeShawn was still tending bar when I had expected a different person at some point.  I came to find out that her contractor had not shown up and DeShawn had remained the entire evening to ensure my guests had uninterrupted service.   While hosting the retirement party for my mom there was a lot on our minds and we needed things to go smooth.  DeShawn dealt with issues and made it work.  All of this excellent service at a price point significantly lower than many of their competitors, I will happily use the Bartending Babes again. read more

I attended a 25th Anniversary Party recently and The BB's were tending the bar and I must say they were professional yet entertaining and really knew how to mix a drink. They would ask you a few pertinent questions about what you liked in a drink and ten mixed up something wonderful you wanted to put your name on! They truly enjoyed what they were doing and actually attracted a crowd all there own! I wanted to know where their next gig was going to be. Hello all-- I used The Bartending Babes services this past Sunday 05/21/17 for my neices birthday. The bartender arrived right on time and immediately got to work (Thank you!) He made sure all the supplies were out and visible, he brought his own bartending utencils and started to prep the garnishes for the drinks. Once it was party time the bartender changed and looked professional as ever which completed the entire look for the event. He was not only friendly to our adult guest but as very attentive to everyone and made sure all were takken care of. I am disappointed in the service we received from bartending babes. We stayed up until 2AM to create an excel spreadsheet of detailed instructions on how to prepare the food and when to set them out for the guests. The day of our wedding reception they tell us that there were no such instructions. That was because they didn't actually read the email, because in the email we said there was a separate tab for waitstaff. My wife and I had to both go in the kitchen to straighten things up when we should have been enjoying ourselves at our own wedding reception. I also walk to the back kitchen area to see wait staff putting the food in their mouths and not all the food was even put out. Our bar had our friend tending to it, not to serve drinks but mainly to make sure things were in order. The line seemed to be getting long and bartending babes had two of their people step in to serve drinks. While this would be great and I would have been very appreciative of this, they put out a tip jar. Tip is included in the quote they gave us, it was not our intention for our guests to be pulling money out of pocket to tip anyone at our wedding. While nothing ever goes according to plan on wedding days, this was something that should have gone better because of the lack of attention to detail. read more

This is one of the shadiest, most unprofessional vendors I have ever worked with. I am the chapter advisor for a sorority at Santa Clara (as well as a professional business owner myself) and for the safety of our members and guests we always hire a licensed and insured bartender for the parties we co-host with fraternities. We used Bartending Babes without incident a few times, but then one time they simply didn't show up. JUST DIDN'T SHOW UP, no call, nothing--leaving us the liability of serving alcohol at a party in a college environment. Deshawn told us she wouldn't refund us but she'd apply what we had paid to the next party. Against my better judgment, we gave her another chance, since the pricing was good and we'd been successful to that point. We had a number of parties subsequently, and then my women reported that "the bartender" was smoking weed behind the bar and drinking. I called her and she denied it, no apology or offer to investigate, just very angry and downright defensive (and very unprofessional.....haven't you heard the customer is always right?); it later turned out that she was right--her employee was not smoking and drinking behind the bar--he BROUGHT A FRIEND to our party and He was the one smoking and drinking behind the bar. At this point, we concluded that Bartending Babes does not provide acceptable service and so with several weeks notice we canceled the next two events for which we had them booked. We had already PAID IN FULL for both events, since we had a relationship (or so we thought) with Bartending Babes, and she refused to refund ANY money (we canceled before deposits were even due--we paid $430 early and in full because we are good clients)--we did not even ask for a refund for the party where her employee brought a friend, we only asked for a refund for events that were still several weeks out. She claimed that she was updating her website to reflect her "no refunds" policy, and that would make it legal, but it was not published anywhere at that time or prior, and research on CA consumer law shows that this practice is in fact illegal. When I told her I would follow up in small claims court, she threatened to bring what she says are incriminating photographs of our parties, including underage drinking. Have you ever worked with a vendor who takes photographs to use for blackmail later? And the most ridiculous part is that we hired Bartending Babes to check IDs and assume liability for alcohol service. If there were minors drinking, WHO SERVED THEM???!!!! Deshawn is an incredibly unprofessional person who conducts illegal business practices, can't control her employees, sometimes doesn't even show up, and then resorts to ridiculous threats of blackmail when by law she owes a simple refund of payment for services that were never rendered (she actually told me if I followed up in small claims, she would call 7 On Your Side to come to one of our parties! As if 1. it's news that college students drink at parties and 2. like small claims court would care). I strongly encourage you RUN, don't walk, elsewhere; if things go well with Bartending Babes, great...but if they don't, you may have one of the experiences we did--a party with no bartender, or a bartender who we allege brings along a friend who then drinks and smokes behind the bar, and instead of a refund for future events, we got threats and feeble attempts at intimidation. The Bartending Babes was booked for my wedding event via online through gigmaster for September 2, 2017 in Fremont. Everything was handled smoothly. Once I booked them, they called and asked all the right questions and provide the recommendations needed to ensure we have a smooth bar service. Overall they did a great job. We given them the option to have tip jar, by the end of the night it was full. My guess was they did a good job. Unprofessional, terrible service! Hired this company for a large corporate event back in August. They were supposed to provide beverage service for 4 hours plus an hour for a set up. The owner (De Shawn) made a huge mistake by trying to rent a delivery vehicle morning of the event. Apparently when she went to pick it up vehicle was not available. So she decided to drive from San Jose all the way to San Francisco to get another one (story provided by her staff). Meanwhile, her staff arrived not an hour but 10 min before beginning of the event and had no supplies needed to set up contracted beverage service. So they just stood there waiting for her for almost two hours. De Shawn made no effort to give us a call and keep us informed on why she's been late and when to expect her. We scrambled to get tap water for our 300 guests on a very warm day. Lunch service got pushed by almost an hour as there were no drinks and we were told she'd be arriving any moment and bring water and ice. By the time she finally arrived and they set up beverage service lunch was finished and we were more than half way into our event. No apologies whatsoever. As a matter of fact, there was no follow up either, no word from her for 3 days following event until I sent her an email demanding a refund. She accepted the blame and had no good excuse for a disaster service, so she agreed to give us a refund. Two weeks later, no refund. We contacted her to inquire about it and were told that she agreed to issue a refund, but did not say when it would happen. Really??? Not left with any other choice we filed a dispute with PayPal and finally received our refund. If I could give them zero stars I would. And we most certainly will NEVER contract them again considering how they handled the entire situation and trouble we had to go through to get our money back. read more

Kristen was an absolute doll - friendly, courteous, engaging, fun, energetic and just plain great at her job. Not only did Kristen work the bar prior to the ceremony, but handled the crowd at the reception with the best customer service. She even walked the room during dinner to refill all that wanted some more "grape"!! So, not sure about the company, but Kristen was nothing short of awesome! read more

OK if you are looking for a server, but could be less pricey for that. Bartender I experienced did not know anything about actually mixing drinks. Mixed a chocolatini with citron vodka when I had specifically handed her vanila vodka for that drink. On the plus side, the lady she sent was very pleasant Would have been nice if she stuck around for the full time that was paid for. After dinner wound down, she took off saying she did not see any need for her svcs, when there was a lull a hour earlier than the 5 hr min, and I was left to run around later on on my own. would have been happy to pay for an extra hour or two if required. We used the Bartending Babes for a speakeasy casino party this year and they helped to make our event absolutely amazing. We paid for an open bar, which was only supposed to include hard alcohol but they went above and beyond and brought along beer to serve as well. They brought all of their own supplies (cups, mixers, garnishes, etc.) meaning that we didn't have to worry about the bar at all. Our bartender was extremely knowledgable and professional and kept the drinks flowing all night. On top of that, our qoute was about $500 less than the other companies we researched.
