11/9/23 Hot Roasted delicious Turkey entree!
    Jen H.

11/9/23 Baffled by all the bad reviews still. I ordered an old lady meal of hot turkey and gravy with filling and two sides. I chose potato pancakes and the garden salad which was fresh and crispy. I believe the price was only 14.99. The turkey was very tasty and so was the gravy with three generous slabs of turkey. Service was friendly. I will definitely go back for sure!

We passed by this dinner on our way to pick up pastries. On our way back we stopped in. This location is easy to see and get to. They have plenty of parking. The decore is old medievalish look. We were motioned to sit in a back booth. Soon after came the waitress with menus and water. Then another waitress who wasn't personable came by to see what we would drink. She quickly brought our beverages and wanted our order but we weren't ready so she scurried off. We finally ordered eggs Benedict with turkey bacon substituted for Canadian bacon, home fries. My companion ordered western scramble and asked for cheddar cheese mixed in, side order of sausage and bacon. He said the coffee was weak. He also didn't get the scramble with cheese mixed in it was only broiled on top. The eggs were too dried out. My Benedict was cooked perfect!!!!! The hollandaise sauce was good but I like it a bit more lemony. Turkey bacon was beautifully crisp. I loved the seasoned home fries! I had some of my companion's toast but either the butter is margarine or the butter was not good quality because it wasn't melted on the toast. It just hung onto the toast instead of melting into it. As our waitress approached our table to drop off the bill she made a comment on her favorite food. It was surprising since she was so short before. We think she was trying to be nice for a good tip. Too little too late! NOT!!! We still tipped over 22% lol Reasonably priced. Good local place try it and add your review!

    Build your own omelette

Not sure why this diner has only three stars! We stopped by after a stay in Tamaqua after the fall foliage festival in Jim Thorpe for Sunday breakfast. The diner is a classic with the old timey look and feel; it's been around forever. The food was very good -- I got the build your own omelette with hash browns and wheat toast. We also shared pumpkin pancakes for the table, which came out to be a huge stack of three, that was very good! One star off just because it took a while for the food to come out, but our sever was nice and took the time to answer any questions.

Amazing French Toast (3 Golden Slices)

Talk about an amazing, quintessential American diner focused on great food and welcoming service. Sunday breakfast was superb. The kids were happy and the parents were satisfied. Be certain to order the French Toast

Old school family run diner. Food is on par with what you get at any diner. Friendly staff, clean tables.

This place is a dump. The waitress was nice but the food was horrible. The furniture is worn out and the service is EXTREMELY slow.

I usually go for the well-done hash with runny eggs, but honestly, I haven't had a dish here that I wouldn't order again. Do yourself a favor and stop by for breakfast...you won't be disappointed!

I am a HUGE breakfast/brunch guy and so whenever I get the chance I hit a new grubbery. Well, this morning we hit WPD - a little diner on Penn Drive. It was my mom, my nephew and myself. There's plenty of parking. The place is clean. The prices are very reasonable. The service was very good!! The server was quick and polite and funny and didn't seem like she hated her job as you often see in many restaurant. The menu is simple - which ain't a bad thing. I will give a positive critique - the omelette's should be cooked a little softer. Mine was well done which isn't the best way to serve an omelette unless asked by the customer. I ordered the... All Meat Omelette and added provolone cheese. I The Pumpkin Pancakes - WOW!!! Yummy. The coffee is without a doubt THE BEST COFFEE I've had in any restaurant in a long time. And I want to add I am a huge coffee drinker as are my mother and my nephew. The ambience is very apropos. Everyone was nice and friendly. I think the cooks came out of the kitchen a few times. It would've been nice had they introduced themselves. We ordered hot links, bacon, hash browns, toast, and of course eggs - scrambled and over easy. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience. This is a no frills kinda place so if you're looking for that in your "wow" - this ain't the place. But, if you're looking for a decent meal at a decent price with friendly service and a clean environment...THIS IS THE PLACE! Happy grubbing!

I went in with high expectations based on previous reviews of the food, but unfortunately, the experience did not live up to them. The side of hash browns were frozen patties that can easily be purchased at any supermarket, and the "creamed chipped beef" was actually made with ham rather than beef. For the prices charged, the quality was disappointing. I ordered the Country Mix, which was quite tasty, but one good meal out of three is not enough for us to return. Sadly, we will not be back.

The hostess said it would be awhile and then we were seated in less than 5 minutes. I thought their breakfast pricing was crazy cheap: $5-$7 for most meal options. Our waitress was amazing and she said the kitchen was backed up. Then our food arrived 60 seconds later - super quick. The homefries were fresh real potatoes (not frozen), the ham was great and the house sausage was excellent. Our waitress kept the coffee coming and a member of our party ordered fresh cut fries which were also delicious. There were six of us and our bill was $45. Related to greasy spoons, price and quality this is a great one!
