I went in for a manicure and pedicure before my son's wedding. I found it odd for my pedicure they only cleaned under my two big toes. I didn't say anything. After a couple of days my big toes started to feel like my toenails were trying to separate from my toes. Massive swelling. Turns out in both of my big toes the hospital said I had nail bed infections caused by the pedicure. After a bout of antibiotics,the swelling came down my nails are extremely bruised. In my opinion Kenora has very little beauty places. So the beauty cabin is great! But one thing. I get acrylic nails a lot. And I get the supplies is very expensive but it was 200$ for a whole set that lasted me a month without any gems or anything just colour. I don't know what to say about this place sometimes nails are done well sometimes the shellac peels off. One thing is for sure they over charge at the salon... yes it is worth the trip into Winnipeg to get your nails done. It is half the price with excellent results up in the city. These ladies in this Kenora salon need a wake up call about cost. Would NOT recommend. Have been here twice. First time was charged an exorbitant fee for poor shellac pedicure. It was not worth it. The second time I had called the day of the appointment to confirm - no one bothered to call me back. When I arrived they took my name and asked me to take a seat in their muggy, damp waiting area (no air conditioning), 10 minutes later was told they could not find my booking. The Beauty Cabin cancelled my gel appointment, how rude and bad business practices. Because, I went else where for a bit and wrote a review that I felt their pricing was high and wasn't totally happy with my brows. I was very surprised that they would refuse a local customer. A true bit snobby if you ask me. Would I recommend them NO, and if you do go there make sure you are totally happy with your results. AND don't complain. Read good reviews on The Beauty Cabin and a friend and I both went in to get pedicures. We got the top treatment in hopes our feet would be left soft and supple, but sadly that was not the case. Very little attention was paid to actually working on our feet. The scrubbing was very light as was the massage and lots of cream was used. Sorry to say, I would not recommend this for pedicures. read more
