There were heaps of various types of fish available. Quite a popular spot for people to either eat in (as we did) or take away. Young efficient workers looked after us. While driving through Ballina, looking for some seafood for lunch we noticed a lot of locals in and…read morearound the Fishermen's Co-Op. Some walking over from the adjacent neighborhood, so we thought we'd give it a try. We were glad we did! Once inside you walk by the bins of iced fish and the fresh seafood displays, pick up a menu and get in line to order. There's lots of fresh, local catch to choose from, mostly fried in some way or another. We placed our order at the counter, grabbed a couple of drinks and went outside to find a table. It's kind of hard to understand the garbled speakers, so I hung around the door when I saw that a person in line in front of me received their order. The seafood is very fresh and they don't skimp on the portions. I had a 'Combo' for one and my wife ordered their Fish & Chips. Even though it was delicious, there was no way we could come close to finishing our order. The Fisherman's Co-op is not fancy, but it sure is fresh!
