BEWARE- DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GATEWAY HYUNDAI…read more I brought my elderly mother's car in for service, and Gateway told us it needed a new engine. Even though the engine is under warranty, then Hyundai Motors DENIED the replacement of the engine due to "Excessive Maintenance Neglect." In response, I provided pages upon pages of maintenance records. The service manager Kyle Deikmann even told me we had more records than anyone else has ever given. I repeatedly asked for the exact photos, diagnostics, and a clear explanation of what specific "maintenance gaps" they were claiming. Gateway and its employees refused to provide all the photos and diagnostic documentation. When I went in to speak with the shop director Luke Bentley and two other shop managers (Kyle and Aja) , I was thrown out of the office simply for asking for the photos and diagnostics--after I filed a BBB report that Hyundai Motor America told me to file. Meanwhile, my elderly mother still cannot get her car fixed and is struggling to get to her doctor appointments, so we are now in a lawsuit. Gateway has been unprofessional, rude, and non-transparent. Consider this a WARNING before doing business there.

The sheriff deputy that sat with her while waiting for a tow truck recommended Matt's. I was so impressed with the complete diagnostic breakdown they sent that included each price for each repair, and ranked the repair by color (green, yellow, red). When the long list of repairs were made at an extremely reasonable price, the truck ran like new! It seemed to be in great condition. We just (July 2021) moved my daughter to Florida in the same truck that now has 265,000 miles that actually pulled a U-Haul the whole way. It made it with no problem! I credit the incredible work done at Matt's two years ago with that truck still running like new. They are true mechanics that know how to fix vehicles and extend the lifetime of them! It was Saturday at about 4PM. For starters, Larry was the only one who would answer the phone over the weekend. But he was willing to come out to DL that evening and get us if the car couldn't make it to Fargo (which fortunately it did). After we explained our dilemma to them (I had a work interview early that week and our son was starting a new school), they worked over the weekend to completely rebuild our transmission and got us out of there by Monday at noon. In fairness I did pay them a bonus to do so (my suggestion, they did not ask for it), but they absolutely pulled out all the stops to get the transmission done for us as soon as they could. In addition, their price was well under what I know a competitive bid is for a full transmission rebuild. If you're looking for designer coffee, Muzak and fluffy couches to sit on while you wait, you'll be disappointed. (However, all of those things are a $5 Uber ride down the road.) Their operation is pretty no-frills. But that's not what I'm looking for or want in a transmission shop... I want someplace that can get the work done quickly, well, and for a fair price. If that is what you're looking for, this is the place. They're just imminently decent people who do really solid transmission work. I know I'm the first review on Yelp for them, but please don't let that keep you from giving them a try. You won't be sorry.
