The inside is designed like your traditional Mexican restaurant with rustic paintings on the walls, lots of bright colors, parrots, etc. You know the place, its your favorite neighborhood Mexican eatery. The food was pretty darn good. I had the Camarones Rojo and my wife tried the birria torta. Both dishes were fantastic, the shrimp was spicy and super flavorful and their beans & rice are AMAZING. Best I've had outside of Mexico really. My wife loved her torta. The carne was juicy, the bread crispy on the outside and chewy inside, fantastic. You have to order the consume separately but its a must. It ranks in my wife's top 3 favorites. There were only a couple not quite perfect things. Nothing to major, but worth mentioning. The birria torta came with raw jalapeños. While fresh and usually enjoyable, this just provided an additional raw heat that didn't go we'll with the rest so she removed them. If you dine in they provide chips & salsa. Unfortunately the salsa was quite bland. The chips needed salt too. They worked as an appetizer but could have been better. They have a few more dishes we're excited to try and look forward to eating here again!

Sadly they don't have black beans so I opted for double rice in place of the refried. The flautas had a decent amount of chicken, plus fresh guacamole, sour cream, and salsa. Fairly large portion for a reasonable price, definitely filled me up. Didn't eat all the rice, but the flautas were nice and crispy and very enjoyable going down. Chips & salsa available too. My husband and his mother tried them while I was gone- he got the polenta fried crab cakes and said they were just ok, which is weird for him because he loves crab cakes. (Well besides groundlings pizza) luckily my SIL was sold when I mentioned chowder- they don't live on the coast so it's an extra special treat to her. She and I both I went for a bowl of their clam chowder and a side salad, my grandson ordered the kids fish and chips with a root beer, my husband ordered the grilled crab cakes instead of fried this time with a bandon brewing cranberry cider, and my brother ordered the fish sando with garlic fries. The clam chowder tasted very basic to me, it was good but not the best in town as they claim. I generally try the clam chowder first at every seafood restaurant I go to, it's kind of a thing, I just love chowder. Theirs was made fresh, nice and thick, has tons of bacon which my SIL loved. I could take or leave bacon in chowder but when I take it I'd rather it be crispy bits sprinkled on top rather than soggy bits cooked in. The focaccia bread that came with it was super soft and made fresh, I just wish it came toasted or grilled. The side salad was very tasty with bleu cheese dressing and house made croutons. The fish was a hit with the kiddo. Locally caught rockfish. Delicious with their tartar sauce and a squeeze of lemon, I tried one of the thicker pieces. Yum. He didn't like his fries for some reason. He shook a little salt on them then dipped a couple in catchup but ultimately left them behind. I didn't try them. We had to ask our waitress for the root beer that didn't come out with everything else. No biggie. It was busy and there was only one waitress for the dining room and patio. We weren't in a rush. The grilled crab cakes were underwhelming and bland to my husband. I didn't try them. The Bandon brewing cranberry cider is delicious, they serve it all up and down the coast. If you have a chance give it a try. The fish sandwich (cod I believe) was giant and my brother devoured it and was very happy with the tartar sauce and garlic fries as well. My SIL loved her chowder and salad and mentioned how she wished she could get her focaccia to come out as squishy as theirs so I assume she liked that too. Overall a good lunch and we will definitely be back. There are several other dishes on their menu that I have my eye on but my husband and I agreed to come back on a night when they are serving their cioppino! Can't wait. Eggs were cooked perfectly and it was just enough food to get my day started. Another morning, I needed to grab something before my jet boat trip up the Rogue. For this, I went with a blueberry scone and biscuits with bacon. Scone was delicious! Not dry like you find in those chain coffee houses and the plump blueberries were a balance of tart/sweet. Biscuits were some of the best scratch made biscuits I've had this side of the Mississippi! On my way out of town, I had a chance to grab lunch here. The ooey gooey crab sandwich was TO DIE FOR! The sweetness of the fresh crab, crunch of celery, and buttery grilled toast was excellent! The next time you're in Gold Beach, head over here!

Hot clam chowder with the cold sea air at your back. It was not a gourmet chowder that you could stand your spoon in. It was a comforting homemade chowder with the perfect clams to potatoes ratio, and it boy did it hit the spot! Arriving next was the generous portion of fish and chips. The fish was coated with light breading accompanied by a homemade sour cream based tartar sauce full of fresh herbs. The fish tacos were even better. The same fish filet covered with fresh cabbage, onions, tomato, and drizzled with a citrusy sour cream sauce. The SO claimed they were the best fish tacos she had ever had. My fish and chips were excellent, but I actually still had a little orderer's remorse after taking a bite of the fish tacos. One of the owners came by our table to bring some cocktail sauce and we remarked how fresh the fish was. She said that they just caught the fish yesterday.
