This place is a bit beard-y, but don't let that put you off. CC has a solid selection of…read moremicro-brews, bottled and canned, from the UK, the US and the continent (and a bit beyond). The shop is fairly wee and the, ahem, 'pyramid' of canned beer in the center of the floor sort of forces one to move in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction around the room. Along one wall stands the growler (tee-hee) station for purchasing and re-fills, which, by the way, is pretty special. The only other place in town where I've had the pleasure of buying refillable jugs of beer is in the massive Whole Foods store in Kensington. For those wanting to imbibe a 'cold one' directly after purchase, there's a full beer fridge at the back of the shop. CC is excellently placed along Lower Clapton Rd. with a handful of buses stopping right out front. Beer lovers and the beer-curious would do well to visit!

The places get crowded easily, and people have to be squeezed together while having a beer. Moor Co seem to have a larger internal and external area, and there is a food stand outside selling Scotch eggs. I tried the Radiance, a Hoppy Blonde beer, and it was excellent.

Upon walking in, you kind of get why. The space is compact, but cozy. You'll find a number of both tried-and-true fan favourites, as well as some rare gems you probably won't find anywhere else. The small bar is usually manned by two people versed in the art of whiskey, but the guys you really want to meet go by the names of Thom and Joel. They not only know their lore, but have a comedic streak that will make you want to stay as much as the drinks. There is also a snug little cocktail bar downstairs if you like your whiskey to be watered down by sweetness and creativity, (I know I do). And, prices are about what you'd expect this deep into Soho - not break-the-bank steep, but fair for what they're providing.

The service is mostly hands-off, which I don't mind, though they do usually greet you with a 'hello' when you come through the door, which is a nice touch. Not worth going out your way to visit this place, however, since their selection is nothing special.
