    First time at the Blue Elephant- beautiful restored bank. The servers & service were fantastic. We went out for a Father's Day brunch after church! It was buffet style, half was breakfast food & the rest was Asian food. Interesting combination wish there would've been more breakfast fare but overall it was nice & my guest enjoyed themselves. I'm coming back for dinner! I would highly recommended this place -a hidden gem in downtown Pottstown!

    Came here for dinner on a Saturday night, and it was the perfect spot for a girls' night out. The restaurant is beautiful inside, and I loved the overall vibe. We ordered the edamame, drunken noodles, and the Blue Elephant Roll, and everything was delicious. The noodles had a serious kick to them, but they were still tasty. Overall, a great dining experience, and I'd definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again!

    Near the end of 2023 my dad was presented his long overdue Purple Heart from being wounded in Vietnam in Veteran's Day themed ceremony at Owen J. Roberts. We passed through Pottstown on the way home and decided to try out The Blue Elephant, initially drawn in by its name and stunning decor. The building itself is a former bank, so it retains architectural features like vaults, brass work, high ceilings and a strong sense of place. Inside you'll find a dramatic interior with a 10-foot fountain at the center of the main dining room, velvet blue booths, light blue drapery reaching up to the tall ceilings, and Mediterranean olive trees. The design is elegant, upscale, but still inviting. It doesn't feel overly formal and there's a sense of fun (i.e. historic photo of elephants in the lobby) yet it's polished. We ordered a whole slew of dishes spanning the culinary spectrum, including beef negimaki to start, a chicken sandwich with a side of homemade slaw, drunken noodles, and shrimp served with rice and greens. Then for dessert shared crème brûlée and a slice of rich and creamy cheesecake topped with chocolate crumbles. One of my favorite dishes, drunken noodles, was a delicious blend of wide rice noodles tossed in a bold, garlicky sauce with just the right hit of heat. The noodles soaked up the spicy, slightly sweet flavors while clinging to bits of vegetables and chicken, making each forkful smoky, saucy, and oh so satisfying. Dessert was definitely a standout based not only on flavor but also presentation. Is there a sweeter sound than the crackling of a crème brûlée's hard, sugary shell when the spoon takes that initial plunge into the cool, velvety custard hiding beneath? And the cheesecake... a beautifully plated, modern take on a classic dessert. A sleek rectangular slice of creamy cheesecake sat on a dark plate really made the colors pop. Around the plate, there were artful dots of caramel and dark chocolate sauce, glossy, mirror-like spheres that burst with sweetness with each bite dragged through them. The fresh strawberry slices tucked beneath the cheesecake brought a pop of color and a bright, refreshing contrast to the richness of the dessert. in the end, the Blue Elephant delivered on both style and substance, where the food tasted every bit as good as it looked. Between the grand, airy, light-filled room with soaring ceilings, the artful plating, and genuinely friendly service, it's the kind of place that would make any meal, any visit feel a little bit special.

    I ordered take out before here with my friend, however got to experience the restaurant today. It was so swanky, I love the ambiance and various seating styles. The service is so wonderful and professional. Ava was the best. The drinks and food were just delish, I enjoyed everything and can't wait to go back. It's definitely on my special restaurant list. They have a bar area you can eat at as well, it's an open concept and was previously a bank. There is outdoor seating as well.

    We had the pork dumplings and Korean wings for appetizers, wow what a great choice! I have never had Korean wings before and the miso sauce was a perfect combination. For dinner we had variety of sushi recommend by the wonderful server/bartender Michael! And for dessert, OMG! The must have is Ooey gooey butter cake! This place is amazing! Especially for date night!

    I've heard great things about The Blue Elephant and am so excited I was finally able to try! It's definitely a gem within Pottstown, you would think you stepped into a trendy Manhattan restaurant. The inside is so cool and I love that it was an old bank. The bar area is truly incredible. We started with the cheesesteak eggrolls which were fabulous, and I got the pad Thai. I've had a lot of pad Thai but this was one of my favorites! My friend got the poke bowl which looked delicious as well. We had good service and will definitely be returning!

    Made a reservation a month in advance for valentines dinner. It was amazing! The restaurant itself was beautiful, even the bathrooms. The service was so friendly and quick for such a busy night. The food was also amazing!! We had drinks, an appetizer, and entrees and had absolutely no complaints.

    What a find! We went here for Easter brunch. The buffet is an interesting combination of traditional breakfast foods like waffles, bacon and scrambled eggs, Thai dishes like tofu in a red curry and pad tai, a nice selection of sushi and beautiful deserts. There is absolutely something for everyone. Our server was wonderful and attentive. The quality of the food is excellent for the price. We all agreed that we preferred this over other brunch places we have tried. The overall feeling of the space is calm and welcoming. Hard to believe the building used to be a bank. Please note that there is additional parking next door, as the lot is shared by another business and some of the spaces belong to them. We are definitely coming here again.

    We had dinner at the Blue Elephant in Pottstown on a Saturday. Compared with its Wayne counter part, the Pottstown location has more reservation availability. We got there around 5:45 pm and it's busy but not crowded. For starters, we had Kobe beef on hot stone which is fun to cook and taste OK. The Hokkaido bread is soft and tasty. The blue elephant roll is pretty standard. We ordered drunken noddle with chicken, tofu Pai Tai, and Macadamia encrusted bronzino. Among these, the drunken noddle tastes the best, full of flavor and spicy with a kick; Macadamia encrusted bronzino is fresh but kind of bland without much seasoning. The Pai Tain is our least favorite. Overall, the ambiance is pretty nice there. The restaurant was converted from an old bank and kept some of the lightening and decor. The servers are attentive.

    Dinner for a party of 8 on March 28th. Delicious food, aesthetically pleasing and outstanding service! Our runner, Lee, was amazingly organized and she knew exactly whose orders went where. Definitely impressed!

    Ensconced in the stately bank building at the corner of High and Hanover Streets, former home of the Brick House restaurant, the Blue Elephant is yet another entry in the Win Signature stable, a restaurant group owned by Win and Sutida Somboonsong. The restaurant's interior is striking: high ceiling accentuated with long draperies; gold mirrors; various plants & greenery; a 30-foot-long quartz bar and a series of comfortable velvet & leather booths filling the large open space... There is even a flowing marble fountain. On the other hand, the members of our party of five - this writer included - were wishing a bit more attention had been paid to the food and a little less to the décor. Once seated at table, appetizers proved to be the high point of the evening... Naturally, many of the usual suspects were present and accounted for - through often treated to a number of creative twists & turns: Rock Shrimp, for instance, encased in a crispy tempura batter and served with spicy aioli; Duck Confit Arancini (risotto balls) companioned by green curry remoulade; and the ubiquitous Cheesesteak Spring Rolls teamed with cheddar and pepper jack cheeses. Interestingly enough, it was the old-fashioned, unadorned Dumplings - stuffed with pork & scallions, gently steamed, and accompanied by a first-rate soy vinaigrette - that proved to be the table favorite. Coming in a very close second, however, were the Zucchini Fritters. That may not sound terribly exciting, but these were tempura battered and seasoned with shichimi togarashi, a zippy blend of seven Japanese spices. But the pièce de résistance was delivered courtesy of an incredibly irresistible melted Gorgonzola dipping sauce, which succeeded in propelling what could have been just another unexciting appetizer into gastronomic orbit. And though technically not a starter, the Potts Bread - which arrived in an actual flower pot - makes a first-rate accompaniment to any meal, especially when teamed up with a ramekin of miso honey butter. Up until this point, everything had been absolutely spot-on... Once the entrées arrived, however, disappointment followed not far behind. And, ironically, the most evident faux pas were not with the complex fusion dishes, as one might have expected, but with more traditional Thai favorites that certainly should have been "no-brainers" for owners with over thirty years in the business and an experienced kitchen staff even remotely familiar with Thai cuisine. Take my Drunken Noodles, for example... a relatively simple presentation basically consisting of stir-fried wide noodles, egg, chicken, and spicy Thai basil chili sauce. And here I freely give credit where credit is due... The infusion of spices was perfect for my palate. There was just enough heat to prompt an exhilarating "after burn" without causing irreparable damage to one's delicate nether regions... But... even after all this good work, the kitchen still somehow managed to mess up the chicken, which was woefully overcooked, as tough as Clint Eastwood's Rawhide saddle and twice as chewy. The Crab Fried Rice, another extremely popular Thai dish, also fell short. In addition to the crab, the other constituents included carrots, onions, scallions, eggs, and garlic soy sauce. Regrettably, the latter ingredient was conspicuous by its absence. Without the all-important sauce, the rice was the-bland-leading-the- bland. So bland, in fact, that the gentleman who ordered it declared it inedible and left it completely untouched. My dining partner was the only one in our party who chose what would be considered an innovative fusion presentation, the Stuffed Flounder. The filet was stuffed with crabmeat, smothered in cream of Parmigiano Reggiano and finished with a tiny tiara of Japanese tobiko (flying fish roe). The accompaniment was listed as a lemon asparagus salad, which turned out to be arugula. In her considered opinion - and my concurrence - the flounder was merely "okay" but not exceptional. In addition, the filet contained a surfeit of bones. With any fish, it is not unusual for an occasional bone to put in an unwelcome appearance... But there seemed to be an inordinate number of them here, as if this particular piscatorial representative had been haphazardly filleted and/or improperly checked over before preparation. Our group passed on dessert. It is, however, worth mentioning, as unlike most Asian restaurants, the Blue Elephant offers an intriguing assortment of sweet endings. There is no question in my mind that the Blue Elephant has the desire - and the potential - to be an excellent restaurant. However... given the rather odd missteps with regard to the entrées, one cannot help but wonder what strange culinary machinations may or may not be transpiring in the bowels of the kitchen. And until that problem is properly addressed, the restaurant's reach will continue to exceed its grasp.

The first disappointment was that this restaurant still advertises itself online as BYOB. We arrived with our favorite bottle of red wine only to be told they no longer allow BYOB. Normally, that wouldn't have been an issue--we would have happily ordered wine from the restaurant. The problem was the beverage selection. They handed us a drink menu that offered essentially one very inexpensive wine option, with no cocktails or meaningful wine selection. If you're going to eliminate BYOB, that's completely understandable--but you should offer a beverage program that justifies the change. The food experience didn't improve things. We ordered several hot sandwiches, which apparently meant the complimentary garlic bread was no longer included. Instead, we were charged an additional $6 for garlic bread and a small side of sauce. What arrived was one tiny piece of bread that was barely buttered and hardly resembled garlic bread at all. Charging extra for something that underwhelming was honestly surprising. To make matters worse, our waiter got our order wrong and then charged us for his mistake. Overall, it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. Between the misleading BYOB advertising, the poor drink options, the disappointing garlic bread, and the billing error, we won't be returning. It's a shame, because this used to be one of our favorite places.

I was underwhelmed at best with the chicken marsala. The chicken was really dry. I had to use a knife to cut it and it was flavorless. The marsala sauce was not done very well, thin and not full of flavor. Basically all I tasted was mushrooms.I've had a lot better. I asked for linguine noodles and they gave me fettuccine and not a lot of them. There were two big pieces of chicken and lots of mushrooms so that's a plus, however the chicken like I said was not very good, it should've been pounded more, egg washed maybe lightly floured, seasoned and it was over cooked. There's no reason why they couldn't have spared some more noodles. A roll came with it that was fresh however, do not use the butter packets they give you. They were the most salty butter packets I've ever had in my life so the role was ruined. I will say that the Italian wedding soup was very good. All in all it was not worth my $35 or whatever I paid with the tip through DoorDash.
