Food was decent for what it was. First time here so I don't know if live music is every night, but do NOT go here if it is. It ruined the entire atmosphere. Went in with high expectations... The gift shop: Unique gifts! Friendly staff. It's pretty pricey but there's a lot of nice gifts and food items. We bought a couple donuts (sour cream and blueberry). They were ok. Fluffy but not much flavor. We also bought a mini apple pie and mini blueberry pie. The apple was good! As for the restaurant... we sat at the bar. It took a while for the bartender to acknowledge us. It wasn't that busy as it was around 3pm on a Saturday. We had the garlic parm fries... awful. They weren't cooked all the way through. There was some parm, didn't taste any garlic, no salt... and way too much oregano. The beer was ok. I had a sauvignon blanc that was ok (just my taste). Not sure we'd head back here. read more

We waited about 25 minutes for our table, which wasn't bad because they were understaffed and busy. The food we got was very good, however, the service is quite interesting. Mostly things on the menu and not substitutable which I thought was interesting for handling dietary restrictions. I have a friend who was vegetarian who was with me and they wouldn't substitute bacon for something else and the waitress had to ask the cook to scramble instead of frying the egg which seems a bit absurd. Today we had lunch at The Blueberry Patch in Mansfield, Ohio! I'm not sure what the issue was but we had to wait 25 mins to get a table when more than half of the tables were empty! We almost left and went somewhere else but I really felt like we were supposed to stay and have lunch! I'm really glad that we decided to stay because the food was delicious. Plus, the blueberry muffin and the blueberry wine were both amazing! The real treat was our server, Jake! Come for the blueberry picking and stay for the wine. A beautiful property with pick-your-own blueberry patches, gift shop and restaurant. The gift shop has a bakery counter with all kinds of blueberry goodies. Allegedly, they are famous for their homemade blueberry donuts. They have live music on Friday nights and serve brunch on the weekends. No wine flights are served on Sundays. Everyone that works here was super friendly. The Blueberry Patch is the only place that I know of to pick blueberries in Mansfield. They offer U-pick blueberries during blueberry season, which is typically July through September. The rest of the year, you can visit the plantation and check out the restaurant / venue that's on the property (1285 Winery), buy some gifts or baked goods or wine from the gift shop, or take a stroll around the farm and say hello to the cattle or the resident zedonk (a zebra-donkey hybrid animal. Yes, these animals exist!). Locals speak highly of The Blueberry Patch, and I can see why. It's a beautiful place with beautiful scenery. I could see this being a great place to get married! This is also located just off the Shawshank Trail, so it's a good place to stop and get lunch or dinner, a cup of coffee, or a glass of blueberry wine. read more

THE WORST EXPERIENCE. If I could give NEGATIVR STARS I 100% WOULD. Being born and raised in Atlanta, Ga, we thought we had seen it all, but let me tell you something THE BLUEBERRY PATCH took RACISM to another level. When we reached the counter, we asked the beautiful lady how many buckets we should get, she told us as many as you want. We generously took 7 whole big buckets!! As we were picking blueberries a gentleman who labeled himself as the "owner" came over to the side of the road and asked my brother "where is your bucket?" My brother replied, I am not picking blueberries, I'm just hanging out and watching them. The owner responded "some of these people don't have buckets and are eating blueberries from the patch." My brother tried to explain that we have 7 buckets already. The man started to get angry and told us to leave saying " this is my living, you're eating my dollars." Are you trying to tell us, that every single person who comes to the blueberry patch has a bucket and none ever tastes the blueberries from the patch???!?! We saw so many larger families who were walking down the hill with just 2-3 buckets. In the patch, other families were enjoying picking and eating blueberries as well! If the PATCH feels that none should eat blueberries from the patch while picking there should be SIGNS all over the PATCH. If the owner felt like we were doing something wrong, he should have told us nicely as well instead of immediately telling us to leave the property! This is NOT PROFESSIONAL behavior! Very racist owner went with a large group over 10 people with 4 kids around 6 buckets between us, after around 10 minutes of being there the owner showed up and said that we weren't actually picking and just eating. We showed him the buckets and he still said that we were just eating them. He then said we were unwelcome and told us to leave very rudely and as we had older people who didn't speak English we spoke to them in our language to tell them we had to leave and he said quote 'don't pull that language shit with me' very very racist wouldn't recommend anyone to go. read more

This was an amazing covid friendly experience that I'm sure will be just as amazing without social distancing being enforced. The Blueberry Patch was just under an hour drive from the Polaris area, so not exactly close but close enough if you know what I mean. Where to pull in is very clearly marked on the road so you don't have to worry about missing the driveway. You walk in to check in, they take your name and how many buckets you took and the direct you to what part of the fields to pick in. We got there at 9am, so there weren't a ton of people and it wasn't hot out. These blueberries were PLUMP. I think we spent about an hour picking, the buckets hold about 6 pounds and we filled up 2. And we filled them with the best, huge, gorgeous berries. We most definitely didn't have to settle on tiny underripe ones because there were so many good ones to pick. When you take the buckets back, you have the option to buy the buckets with a lid for an extra $3. They sell lots of cute blueberry themed things in the gift shop. I got an adorable mug but decided to skip on the jam and syrup because that's exactly what I had planned on making with my massive berry haul. Do be sure to get some of their blueberry donuts! Homecoming Nightmare! When I originally made reservations at The Blueberry Patch for homecoming evening I thought it would be a great experience. They then called with an offer of a buffet for $27 per person but you had to prepay. I moved forward. The night of arrival, they had no confirmation of my reservation at all. The hostess just kept repeating she doesn't show it on her end. When I showed her that I prepaid she gave us a table and but seemed more to just shut us up. At the table we sat, and sat, and sat. I went back up to the hostess and asked how the buffet was supposed to work as no one had approached us yet. She said she didn't know but thought that someone would come over. We waited some more and no one ever came. We finally got up and just started helping ourselves. The food was okay and not all ready when we got there. Definitely not worth the $27 per person. By the time we were finishing up we had dishes all over our table and no one still had approached us. We left the restaurant without talking to a single employee besides the hostess who seemed generally very confused about her job. I reached out to the owner immediately after and shared my experience. The response I got is that they were probably understaffed. Not acceptable! For $27 per person for 8 people....not acceptable for that price or any price. Hospitality clearly does not matter here. Please look up Danny Meyers. This was an embarassment!!! Even when I shared my experience nothing was done to right the situation. I've never gone into a restaurant before and been entirely ignored and then when escalated the issue still nothing. All while paying over $200. Terrible experience on what was supposed to be a great night. read more

We met up with our family here for lunch and blueberry picking. The blueberries were plentiful and it was a fun activity for the various ages in our group (4-74). Our lunch was just okay. We ate outside. They served two members of our group way before the others. The food was okay. Portions were fairly small. Food was served on plastic plates which made it feel kinda cheap but the patio was beautiful so it seemed a little mismatched. Service was very slow and they said they are understaffed. Came in Friday about 1:30pm with my wife and mother in law. We were told that it would be at least an hour wait because they were short staffed. really on a Friday. We said ok and drove around for 45 minutes and came back. We were promptly seated. Next we were given menus and ordered our food. My wife also ordered a bottle of wine. Server brought out wine and ONE glass. There were 3 of us at the table. We told him and sometime later like 10 plus minutes he comes back with another glass. 20 plus minutes later server comes back and says what we ordered was on the dinner menu. So mother in law orders something else. (really you can only get a hamburger on the dinner menu) Then server comes back another time and tells me what I ordered was also on the dinner menu. We were give 2 different menus and were told nothing about availability. The entire experience was a joke. We drove from Johnstown to have a nice meal. My wife wanted to show her mother a good time. I wrote a review on my bill on line and they said well we fired the server and give us another chance. That will never happen. This place has been in business for forty years and I can see why! I went with my cousin and her kid and we had an absolute blast! Her five year old loved picking blueberries, we spent a good hour and a half picking nice blueberries (I had a little over two pounds and it was less than $10). My cousin had a little over three pounds and it was about $17. The patch was fantastic, the blueberries are sweet and fresh, just great to be out in nature. We also stopped in the winery and we had great service, the servers were a bit overwhelmed because of a wedding (wedding reception?) but we still felt our server took good care of us and checked in on us about the wine and food. It was the best chicken salad I'd ever had and the broccoli salad was fantastic. We had blueberry bliss wine which was VERY sweet (my cousin LOVED it), I preferred the dry blueberry wine (the bliss felt like drinking dessert so take note if you're a wino). My cousin bought a bottle of the Mixed Tape (blackberry, raspberry, and blueberry mixed wine which she said was her favorite, also a sweet wine). As far as being a local place to pick blueberries in a nice setting, I would give a better rating than 2 stars. The rating is a reflection of how unfriendly and unwelcoming this place has become. My family first came her over 10 years ago when it was a cute farm stand with a gift shop & plant nursery. We brought our grandkids and parents many times and it was a simple, fun experience . Then, they expanded. I understand trying to be a successful business but this has come at the expense of customer service and appreciation for customers that support your business. I do not know how the new building was created with absolutely no concern for following the law - specifically the ADA. The access to the lovely building for wheelchair users or others with mobility impairments is horrible. The sidewalk is not to code , too steep! There is no accessible route from parking lot to the entrance. They evidently felt this was rectified by creating a "handicapped" drop off but that is on gravel and people with disabilities do travel alone. Someone can't drop off themselves and go park the car. The bathroom entrances are quite narrow & would not accommodate a wheelchair easily and a large person may have difficulty. The message all of this sends is that they DID NOT CARE. Years ago, they were welcoming to a family member who used a wheelchair and worked to make our visit the best it could be so it is even more disappointing that this is how it is now. Now, it's obvious they don't care. I really hope the owners do not have to experience mobility issues for them to understand this. They built a new facility from the ground up & could have designed it for EVERYONE. Even aside from these issues, employees at check in are not nice. They act like you are interrupting them. Going to orchards and farms is something I love to do. I am now considering going elsewhere. Even though it may be further to travel, there are blueberries for u-pick elsewhere in Ohio. read more

Blueberry picking is a part of August living and happy to kick off August at your patch today. Everyone in the patch was covid-19 conscious and kept their distances. We had gone in between rain so we had the whole aisle to ourselves. Lots of ripe ones so no need to be too choosy. On the way out we paid and also tried the blueberry doughnuts and blueberry ice cream. The doughnuts were amazing! You could see blueberry pieces in it. The ice cream was alright (our five year old didn't really like it and we thought it was okay), having living in the North East the blueberry ice cream out there is hard to beat. We did turn in by the patio around 1:40 pm. I was NOT impressed to see your employees not wearing their masks correctly while serving food. It also appeared very busy and too full for our health and safety likely so we were not tempted to order food or to take out. For this reason I'm act Lastly, I'm glad that you are not using the word plantation on your buckets, marketing etc. Great place wonderful for family memories! For such a great location and setting the service really disappoints. We have been several times this year and each time is more lackluster than the last. We kept coming back because it's such a great setting! But you can't make a reservation and instead you have to wait 25 mins for a table. Once seated you wait another 10-15 mins for a mimosa. The bathrooms are out of toilet paper and it's just sitting on top of the dispenser. This is an hour after opening for the day, which tells me they just didn't get cleaned the night before. The food is pretty good but sadly this will be our last time dining here due to poor service and inefficiency. These are solvable problems and hopefully the owners see this. read more

When I contact the blueberry patch about the bad experience the answer was that they were sorry about that and next time I should call and make reservations because on weekends the restaurant gets busy, like I said the restaurant wasn't busy, was 4:30 pm, it's ridiculous that the staff of a restaurant can't handle a walk-in couple and give them a good service when the restaurant is not busy. read more

I have been going to the Blueberry Patch since 2014 (according to the bucket I take back each year to refill). Great picking and so many blueberries. I filled two buckets for around $40. Now to my disappointment. I was shocked to see that the Blossoms Cafe and gift shop had been relocated to a new bigger building at the end of the lane. The small cozy cafe had been replaced as part of the 1285Winery in a large wooden structure, which can be used for events. They moved into the new building a couple of months ago. One of the reasons I loved going to the Blueberry Patch was having lunch in the unique cafe, at the small round tables with miss-match plates and a teapot of hot tea served in cup and saucers. It was quaint and delightful. The gift shop was full of interesting items, great clothes and wonderful gifts. The new shop seems smaller, definitely had less clothing and in general less merchandise. They were understaffed in the restaurant, which meant a 30 minute wait, which was not a problem at all. The menu was smaller and hot tea was not available. I hope that changes as they get more settled. They is an outside patio, which was not open. The staff were very friendly, except the young lady when we checked in to pick. Needs a lesson in customer service. Do I love this place yes, will I continue to go back yes, but am sad that it has changed and moved away from intimate greenhouse it once was. read more

The food was absolutely amazing and I won't take that from them. Pricey for the portion size though. A sandwich, about 5 chips and a small cup of soup isn't $16. It was a pretty cool atmosphere and the service was pretty good. My wife and I both got the sandwich, soup, a drink and a pretty good dessert. What I really don't care for is the menu said that it was sandwich, chips and soup. When we got our bill, they up charged us for the soup. A few bucks won't break me but I feel it was misleading and dishonest. The server said she gets asked all the time about it. We got to the cafe a half hour before closing (I know it's cutting it a bit close but it's just sandwiches & salads which usually don't take long) and ordered lunch. Our waitress was unfriendly and grumpy and made it very clear that she was not happy she had to take another table. The food was excellent. At the end, as she was picking up our checks, she told us that she was sorry if she seemed grumpy but she was tired, and that we should come earlier next time if we want better service. She also actually said 'so if it seemed like I wanted to stab you guys it's because I've had a long day, so sorry. ' I couldn't believe a waitress actually said she wanted to stab us. I felt the quality of the food was subpar or mediocre at best. I felt I was paying solely for the atmosphere which was nice. The service was decent also. I am not sure if the prices are always that high or if it was because of fathers day, and this also may reflect on the food. Maybe these foods were not a usual item on the menu so the cooks were not familiar with them, leading to the lack of quality and flavor. It almost felt as if the foods may have been packaged foods and sorta reheated. The price was definitely too high for what we got. My Philly steak sandwich was actually pretty pathetic, store bought hoagie bun with standard frozen chipped steak and cheez wiz, $21. That was outrageous! My wife's cheeseburger was okay, had a slightly off flavor, but literally had no seasoning, had to ask for salt. My Mom's chicken salad was nearly non existent, it was a croissant with a very small amount of chicken salad for $17! My Dad's Brisket was in my opinion the worst, it was dry, grizzly and over cooked. At $27 that was very disappointing. I guess the best thing on the table were my son's "bbq ribs", but I suspect those were a prepared food and just reheated... The sides were okay, just filler to try and justify the high prices, but I don' think we would have missed them if they weren't there. The portion size was okay though, no one was hungry at the end of the meal but then again no one was very satisfied either at the end of the meal... Will I be returning to eat, NO! I may come back to have a drink, or pick some blueberries or grab a donut, but I will not recommend your location for food... In fact if it hadn't been Father's day, if this wasn't a gift for my family and in-laws, I would have sent the food back. I spent over $200 on a very basic and flavorless meal. I found out about the Blueberry patch from a coworker of mine that lives in nearby Lexington, I had asked about places to pick my own fruit and she mentioned the blueberry patch. Last year was my first year and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of getting a bucket and picking my own blueberries and also tasting a few deciding if they were the ones that I wanted. Last year my coworker, her son and I had lunch on premise and it was ok, nothing really stood out. This year I was so excited when all three of us had a Saturday free to go picking, I met them and off we went picking. I have been known to take my time and also pictures of blueberries, whereas they are somewhat in a hurry just to fill the bucket, I am selective. I had about 7lbs of blueberries in my bucket and only cost $21.00, from which I will be making aigre-doux, jam, pickle blueberries and much more.
