Not the biggest fan honestly, for the fact we came in during a weeknight and place was super slow,…read moreI can't understand why we were not able to get any service... Just ignorance. And then when it came to beer ordering (regular IPA from Goose Island), it was super warm... like room temperature, but this is not a cask beer so I am not sure what this was about! Quite disappointed to pay a premium price for a beer and then get something you can't even finish, yuck. The pizza was good, I can't say a bad word about that, it was just the beer and the service that got me disappointed and I would not want to come back for. I wish your experience is better than mine.

Prime location, decent pub food, plenty of booze and football on the big screens. Comfortable and…read morerelatively kid friendly, plenty of space for the strollers. We came with a group of 7, plus 2 babies and a young child. It worked out well for us. This is not Chinese, despite the odd label on yelp. I suspect it's the local club too with multiple levels and the overall set up. Water front and by the bridge, it'll be nice in warmer weather for a spot of people watching. We were happy with our 2 for £10.50 deal. Sandwiches are reasonably priced for a pub at around £5.50. One of our group ordered tacos... that was a mistake. Stick to pub fare and you should be fine. The service was questionable though, the waiters had no idea where the food orders were suppose to go! They actually made a mistake and brought over 5 tapas dishes instead of the three ordered. Then tried to charge for it when they realised what they'd done 30mins later... the ordering group had already left so that was the end of that. But really...! Decent pit stop for a quick bite when you're after a view but aren't sure where to go. Probably better for hanging out with some pints.

Ah This pub used to known as The Old Library. Unsurprising, given that prior to its transformation…read moreinto a chamber of raucousness in the mid nineties, it was Taunton's very own hushed bibliotheque. Don't worry; we didn't burn the books; the library was relocated about 400m away and at the time I was quite happy to see a new pub to try and get served sans ID, (17!!). In its first incarnation, the pub celebrated its heritage by maintaining a quasi-literary (not semi literate) theme. Local historians pointed out that as the library building was a gift from the Carnegie foundation on condition that alcohol was not imbibed on the premises. Everyone else said let's get ratted. Now that the 'Pitcher & Piano' chain have bought it, they've seen fit to daub it the dullest colour known to man, just to make it that little bit more homogenous. No Piano either, despite plenty of space for one. OK, so actually it is going to be nicer than many 3 star pubs; there's a lovely beer garden which is perfect for watching the shoppers stroll along the quirky shops in Bath Place - but food is too bland, too pricey, too fried and there's so much more that could be done with such a lovely building. EDIT: I'm giving it a three as it's probably rammed on a saturday night, which can't be a bad thing.

This is the kind of place to consider for an undisturbed business meeting, especially if you're on an expense account.
