The BoonSeek is one of the best food trucks in Pittsburgh. I continually go out of my way to go to the establishments that they are going to. Their staff is always so friendly and kind, the food never takes long and is so good.

    Menu - June 2025

I first discovered The Boonseek about two years ago, when looking for a spot in Pittsburgh to try a Korean Korn Dog. Since then, I have been a huge fan. I follow their Instagram account, find myself checking their schedule whenever it is released, and will try to patronize if they are in the area I am in! For this visit, I found them at Forbe's Hospital in Monroeville on a Thursday around 1:00 PM in June. There was no line at the truck, so I put my order in right away. They typically create a welcoming atmosphere and are friendly. They have a smaller menu, but I have personally tried everything at one point or another, and it is all great. All of the food is prepared fresh, so it usually takes a few minutes for your order to be ready. Sometimes, you will even catch them making and prepping the Korn Dogs, which is fun to see! They hand you a buzzer, and it will vibrate once your order is up. On this visit, I ordered two Boon Seekers, and added Potato Topping to one. I also ordered a Cheese Seeker. The Potato Topping adds some great texture to any of the Korn Dogs, but they are just as great without any topping! I appreciate how they put the ketchup and mustard on the dogs for you, but they will also have more available in bottles that you can help yourself to as well. As always, I enjoyed the Korn Dogs from this visit. Really, you can't go wrong with anything this food truck offers. I have typically always had a positive customer experience each time I have visited The Boonseek. This particular visit, I was waited on by an employee I do not recall ever seeing before. Truthfully, she was not super accommodating and did not allow for me to use the payment method I preferred. I typically will pay with cash here, as I believe you save a little on the credit card fees (or at least that is how it was previously). She did not want me to pay cash because she had plastic gloves on, and it would be easier for her to have me pay card. I am not sure why she could not just throw the gloves away, but this rubbed me the wrong way. I am not certain, but I do believe she also turned a group away from ordering right after me. This was confusing because they were advertised to be there until 2, and it was well before when this group arrived. Additionally, I am not sure if they recently got a second or different truck, but I remember it being a different truck any time I had visited previously. So, I am not sure if this employee only works in this truck or what the deal is. I am hoping that this was just a one-off experience, because I have never had a non-positive visit before this one. Overall, I would recommend for everyone to visit The Boonseek whenever they are near. They travel around all over the area, so it is likely you will see them near you. The prices are very fair, and I feel that you get a great value for what you pay. Typically, the service and customer experience is great. Plus, they have a more unique offering than most food trucks, which is always welcomed.

Staff was soooo nice and helpful. Food was delicious! We originally ordered a sausage seeker and a cheese seeker! It was so good that we week back and got another one! My only wish is that they would do a completely cheddar one, but with it being small and quick, it completely makes sense. It was great! Highly recommend! Next time we're in Pittsburgh, we will go again!!

Incredible Korean corn dogs in the Pittsburgh area! I'd never tried this dish until checking out this food truck, and I'm obsessed with them. If you aren't familiar, it's a crunchy outer shell with one of three options inside: all meat, meat and cheese, or all cheese. On the outside, the crunchy coating is dusted in cinnamon sugar (don't knock it 'til you try it!) and ketchup/mustard. You can also add a fried potato coating in addition to this, which I strongly recommend. I usually do meat and cheese with the potato coating! The truck also offers other Korean dishes, which are all very delicious. They are often parked all over the Pittsburgh area, and their Instagram is where you can find their schedule for any given week. They are worth seeking (no pun intended) out whenever you get the chance! Friendly service, efficient ordering process, reasonable prices, all a win in my book!

Korean style Korndogs and street food, food truck. Consistently amazing quality and even though they typically always draw a line, it goes pretty quick. Their Korndogs are so perfect and amazing. All corndogs come with sugar, ketchup and honey mustard. There are three different kinds of dogs- one is just the mozzarella - Cheese Seeker, one is just the sausage- Meat Seeker and one is half sausage and half mozzarella- the Boon Seeker. The Boon Seeker is what I highly recommend. Comes on a stick and is flavor filled. You have the option to add potato topping or beef bulgogi toppings for extra cost. They also serve Veggie rolls (Kim-Bob), Dumplings (Bulgogi Mandoo) and Koren fried chicken (Chi-Bob). Simple but so delicious. Be sure to follow to see where they park next and try one for yourself.

This was a really cool experience. It definitely surpassed what I thought. I was very nervous but it ended up being really good. Next time I am going to be more adventurous than just getting cheese

Visited here finally after wanting to try it for months at Eleventh Hour Brewing in Lawrenceville. The staff were very nice and kind, and the food was delicious! We didn't have to wait very long. They can also give you a buzzer so you can go have a beer inside while you wait. We tried the sausage (more like a hotdog) and mozzarella cheese corn dog thing. We also tried the beef dumplings. everything was so good!!! the "corn dogs" have a sugar coating which for some may be a turn off but I love it. it makes it the perfect salty sweet compliment, especially with the mustard drizzled on top. A great stop to try if you are in the area!

Everything is quite good and the menu is rather unique. They specialize in Korean street food and they do it well. The Cheese Corn Dog is very cheesey and delicious. I also tried the Chicken, which was tasty.

The food I got from this truck was really good! The line was kind of long, but they worked diligently and got my food out in a reasonable amount of time (definitely a bit of a wait though). I ordered the bulgogi mandoo and a cheese seeker (Korean corn dog with mozzarella cheese). Both items were delicious and piping hot when I picked them up. The mandoo came in a decent portion and were extremely flavorful. They are not too doughy, and it's packed with meat, vegetables, and glass noodles. They are super savory and honestly don't even need sauce to enjoy, although they give you complimentary soy sauce. I loved their Korean corn dog. It is crispy and sweet on the outside, with lots of gooey cheese on the inside. Perfect breading ratio. There are a few sauces you can add, like mustard, ketchup, or Mayo, and I recommend this mayo. It goes really well with the corn dog. All in all, the place makes delicious food for fair prices. Portions are okay, and sometimes there might be a wait, but it's worth it. The menu is very small and limited, but the food they make is amazing. Try a corn dog!

I have been eyeing this food truck ever since I stepped on to CMU campus 4 years ago, and now I'm my last week of classes as a senior, I finally made it! The Boonseek on CMU always has a line, which means it has to be good! They serve some authentic Korean street food, and are best known for their Korean corn dogs! I had to get the Boonseeker, which was 1/2 mozzarella and 1/2 hotdog, because that was what the truck is named after. And we also got an order of the bugolgi mandu, which my girlfriend loves! The boobseeker was delicious, and was a nice mix of savory and sweet that made every bite delicious! I was surprised on how quickly I finished it without even realizing! I highly recommend coming to CMU to try it, or looking on their Instagram account to see where they'll be during the week!

Novo Asian Food Hall is a collection of Asian food, drinks, and desserts in the Strip District, specifically located in the Terminal building. There are individual restaurants and businesses serving their specific cuisine. There is a bar in the center of the floor, a non-alcoholic drink place, a bakery, and several restaurants. At the time of this visit, there were 4 different food stands, 1 tea/drink stand, 1 bakery stand, and the bar area. There is not specific designated parking for the Food Hall, but there is paid parking all around the Terminal building. Additionally, there are other options for street and paid lot parking throughout the Strip. There are several entrances to Novo - from the Terminal side on Smallman Street, from the back side of the building, and also a side entrance if you are already in the Terminal. The Food Hall is very large, and is easily identified with the signage. We stopped in on this night a little before 8 PM, and it was not too crowded. There were patrons for the restaurants and at the bar, but there were still plenty of seats all around the place. There are high and low top tables all around the dining room, and there is even bar seating in the center. You can sit wherever you please, as it is open seating. There are water pitchers and cups placed near the trash cans that are available for use by anyone in the Hall. On this trip, we purchased food from KungFu Chicken and Tan Vac Lien 2. Everything we had was good! It is nice to be able to mix and match different foods from the various stands to create a meal. I like to try new items from the different stands each time I visit the Food Hall. However, I have found some favorites that I find myself going back to each time (Fishcake Corn Dog!) The prices throughout Novo vary depending on which stand you are at. Some items can be a little pricy, but overall I believe the pricing is fair. A plus of being able to get such a variety of items is that you can share with a group, which may help to keep the cost manageable. Novo has good hours, but not all the stands are always all open at the same time. So, I would double check the place you wish to go will be open during your visit. Overall, I really like Novo Asian Food Hall, both conceptually and in practice. This has been a fun addition to the Strip, and I have enjoyed getting to try lots of different foods and cuisine during my visits. My only critique/note is that I hope that the vacancy of one of the stands can be filled quickly to add even more options and variety. I would recommend stopping here if you are looking for authentic Asian cuisine with a fun, social atmosphere. I look forward to trying even more of the options here during my future visits!

The ladies' room was so dark, I mistook it for a storage area because I could only make out a white ladder in the corner that was being used as cute shelving. The place is seat yourself. Our waiter was not super friendly and didn't offer to give us napkins or anything when our wobbly table caused our drinks to splash all over the place. The cook served our chicken with a big smile and happy interaction and we really loved his personality. The bartender also stopped by to bus our table and he was very pleasant as well. We enjoyed the perfectly fried small plate cauliflower with the plum sauce and the fried cheese/garlic wonton bites with the sriracha mayo spicy dipping sauce. The fried chicken breast on the large plate was slightly overcooked with a maple gochuchang sauce that was very bland. We were so thankful that the large plate fried chicken came with a side salad to offer some respite from the heaviness of the fried dishes. It would have been great to have some side acidic or fresh vegetable options like Kimchi or something. Maybe we tried the wrong dishes and there are other not fried things that are delicious? The dirty martini cocktail was just so-so, not really much flavor at all, but the mojito was very good and refreshing. It's probably a good late-night place for a bite and drink.
