We had not tried The Boot Room previously thinking it would be loud and crowded. We weren't going to watch a game and only one of our party wanted bar drink. But the food looked good so we tried it. Glad we did! The rooms to watch games are separated from some eating spaces including outside. We chose outside and the bar next door had a big patio also. You order inside, grab a number flag and they bring your food to the table. You get your own drinks except the bar beverages. The food was very good. We got burgers, BLT, and chicken sandwich. Wow fun place. Stumbled upon this place through Yelp and decided to go for brunch. We had the Stevie G with macaroni salad and the Boot room chicken biscuit with tater tots. The chicken sandwich was excellent. Light and crispy and loved the pickled red onion. The same for the chicken biscuit. The chicken was cooked perfectly and excellent biscuit. Also really great sides. The macaroni salad was spot on and the tater tots were light, crunchy, and perfectly seasoned. If you're going for brunch the sandwich is a much lighter option. We also had the beignets and not a fan. Super thin with no rise and tasted like they were soaked in grease. Service was a little confusing and seemed a little disorganized but they got our food to us without issue. You order at the counter and then go find your table. They have large tvs in the back and had soccer games on with a few fans. I don't normally watch soccer but made it a fun and great atmosphere. My family and I were looking for a place to eat after church on Sunday and came across this place on yelp, which gave it 4 1/2 stars. I love the whole brewery type seating where you just pick a table, order your food, and they just bring it to you. Honestly, I've seen places in CA where you can literally order the food from your table with a QR code and they just bring it out. In my opinion, I think that will be the future of ordering food with very minimal contact from the staff. Especially with covid lingering around. Anyway, since we are family of 5, I thought seating would be hard, but there were plenty of big tables which I loved. I ordered the fried, smoked chicken and pimento cheese biscuit because that is a combo I've never tried, and it sounded really good. And it was! The chicken was crispy but juicy. The smoke flavor still came through even though it was fried and the pimento cheese was delicious. Although, I love pimento so I was hoping more for a little more of the pimento flavor. The biscuit was a little too crumbly but I ate it so fast, it didn't matter anyway lol. My wife ordered the pastrami eggs benny and I managed to sneak a few bites from her. This plate was excellent! The pastrami reminded me a little bit of smoked salmon but with a more "meaty" texture. The eggs were perfectly poached, and when slit, oozed nicely onto the other ingredients. The pastrami was just salty enough to cut through the creaminess of the egg and combined with the biscuit, it was just a very delicious bite. The kids ordered the waffle with fruit, and although a pretty simple dish, it was delicious and the fruits were fresh and colorful. For dessert we got the churros with chocolate. These things are not full sized but I kind of like the bite sized versions they served. "Cinnamony", sweet and the chocolate was more of a darker chocolate which I liked because it wasn't too sweet when dipped. What a wonderful place! It's about time that Durham had a legit spot to enjoy the Premier League games. I had no idea this existed until a friend told me about this place. What a gem! This was the first restaurant I went to after moving to Durham just a few months ago and I've been back many times since. It's never too crowded when I've gone we have never had a wait time. The food comes out so quickly it feels like magic. The staff is friendly. Everything we have tried so far on the menu has been delicious. We love the Stevie G chicken sandwich and the Shankly fish and chips but the BLTs are definitely not to be slept on. For the sides the sweet potato fries and chips with old bay are our go to. Definitely get fried pickles or cheese curds with pepper jelly for the table. The ambience is also so cool as well. You pick your seat which I LOVE and there are lots of options to fit any size crowd. There is a bar area that's really nice but it has doors closing it off from the rest of the restaurant so no worries very much so still has a family friendly vibe. There are lots of pinball machines and other games. The walls are covered in pictures and jerseys so if you're a soccer fan it's a must. People were friendly and helped us order with the correct menus (we came right before brunch ended and lunch began). We ordered and found a small booth around the corner. Food came quickly and didn't disappoint. I had to say the Boot Room has some of the BEST sweet potato fries I have ever had. They were crispy and I devoured them. My turkey sandwich was just as good too. My fiancé doesn't care for tator tots that much but ordered them anyway and THOSE were tasty as well. His chicken sandwich was delicious. Both of us cleaned our plates! Once we finished eating we walked around the place to take in all the soccer stuff and check out the bar. I love that a bottle shop and brewery is connected. Great flavor and felt somewhat unique from most bbq flavored burgers, yet still a familiar taste. Sweet Potato Fries with Brown Sugar: Overall - Ehh. I was excited to try them but they came out cold and with almost no brown sugar, I asked for some on the side to pour on myself. My food took a while to get to me which is why I think my fries were cold. I think they just forgot to bring it out to me for a bit until I asked them about it again. Everyone was very polite though.
