She assured me I was fully covered under the plan I had and answered other questions I had in detail and with a lot of patience. She even offered some excellent recommendations on things I should do to protect myself: take photos of the car before and after, as well as taking a picture of the document they give you on return of the vehicle and ideally getting the name and picture of the person you return the car to. On the whole I have had good experiences with Allstate. I have them for our car and home. They have been very helpful the times I have had to file claims and did not drag out paying. Their roadside assistance is also very good, the wait times are generally very short and the technology they use for assistance is also good and works well. I like that I don't have to download an app in order to get the roadside assistance.

There was free parking and a clear sign they could do provide the service I desperately needed. How convenient. Yes!! I went inside and a very kind young lady quickly asked a few questions just to determine the type of document needed. She kindly waited as I wrote the document and even helped me spell-check. When I was finished, she then checked to make sure the document was complete. I paid with my card, and I was on my way out the door within ten minutes. I am writing to express my significant dissatisfaction with the service I received regarding the…read moreregistration of my kayak. While my initial interactions were positive, the experience quickly deteriorated. The issue arose when I was repeatedly told that my Certificate of Origin for the kayak needed to be notarized. I clarified that this was a dealer-to-first-owner sale, not a person-to-person sale, and that notarization is only required for the latter. I even had the owner of the kayak shop speak with them to explain this, and I also showed them the relevant information on the PA Fish and Boat Commission website. Despite these efforts, they insisted on the notarization. After leaving that office, I contacted the PA Boat Commission directly, and they confirmed that the notarization was indeed not required. I offered to have the PA Boat Commission representative speak with them to clarify, but even after this confirmation, another excuse was given regarding a "DIN number" on the Certificate of Origin, which is not applicable. This experience was incredibly frustrating due to the disregard for accurate information and the rules set by the PA Fish and Boat Commission. I believe the staff thinks they know more than the actual people who write and enforce the rules. I would advise others to consider alternative options for similar services, or to go directly to Harrisburg, where the correct procedures and fees are clear. You will not be charged for processing; you will only be charged for the registration, saving yourself a hundred bucks for them to send it to Harrisburg using a 50-cent stamp.
