Today is 11/24/2015, i drove a half hour to this Dispensary and of course a 30-minute drive back home on 11/21/2025. When i reviewed the 4 items I purchased, I noticed that one of the Flower Buds Container said packed on 5/23/2025 and use by 11/24/2025. When I called the store this morning, I was told I could bring it back unopened and I asked what compensation i would receive for an hours drive, to correct your Dispensary selling expired product. I was told that is their best offer/solution. read more

A few years ago when they first opened the lines were terrible and it was just not a good experience. But now with all the competition getting in and out of this place is a breeze I love it. Do an online order I drive to the place in and out in 5 minutes. And the prices on their branded Vapes are pretty good I love the botanist I just hope it doesn't go out of business. read more

I was walking up the steps at 6:43pm and they close at 7pm. I was turned away and told that they're closing early and I was not allowed to come in and make a purchase. This was by far the WORST dispensary experience I've ever had. The location is in the middle of an industrial park, attached to a factory of some kind. As soon as I walked in, the signage was very confusing and said in very small print that Adult Use didn't open up until 10am when the store opens for Medical Use at 8am. It doesn't state this anywhere on the website and when I called to confirm they were open, nobody answered the phone (called 3 times).... The store was legit empty, zero reason to not answer your phones. The cherry on top, when we walked in after 5 mins of standing waiting for an employee to say or do something. A very rude and unfriendly employee proceeded to speak to us as if we were stupid and didn't see the sign when in was legit in .5 font. Moral of story, don't go here drive the extra bit to Curaleaf... you may get verbally abused. read more

Was staying in A C for a few days and I am a Pa medical marijuana patient, and decided to take a 25 min ride and go check out a NJ dispensary. We arrived at 6:15, and it closes at 7:00. After waiting outside for 30 min a girl came out and said we can not serve the rest of you. Worst customer service ever. At some point an employee should've came out and said we are at our capacity. We stood there for 30 min. Your system sucks ass. And the 10% coupon u gave me u can stick it up your ass. I didn't NEED anything, I Just wanted to check out your store. But guess what? Horrible customer service. I shopped here for months without issue, but the minute I have defective products they wash their hands of it and tell you tough shit, we as a company, will do nothing to rectify the situation. Then they want to insult my intelligence about different strains being different densities (it's ground up already before being put into the paper--I could understand if I was complaining about how little whole buds I got in a jar when comparing to a different strain in a jar) before basically accusing me of being a criminal by insinuating that I could have stole it. The manager stated that I could've removed the flower from each one. REALLY? Who has time for that? I just wanted what I purchased. I've purchased this exact strain/item before and had zero issues!!!!! My whole point in purchasing from a dispensary is for quality control, getting what I paid for. side note--they did offer a discount, but then rescinded it due to my irritation. The window in The Botanist took over and the new management is not up to par for a medical Dispensery. especially the assistant manage! she's rude! ignorant and disrespectful! she Doesn't have a clue how to run a medical dispensary! True Story! she talks about the patients in the back offices with other staff! Unfortunately, she is breaking all the HIPAA laws! She should be fired! Be careful when you go in as well. Don't get too friendly, even though that's what their motto is !! be kind to their bud tender!! it's on the Christmas tree. I am new to the medical marijuana program. I have history of cannabis and I consider myself a connoisseur. Their cannabis is trimmed perfectly, tastes amazing, and if you want, has a very high THC content of around 35%. The THC percentage varies from like 3%-35% since they have a big menu. They have sativa, Indica, and hybrids and there's at least 5 options per kind that never change unless they run out of stock. CCF does not sell lozenges or other edibles (yet) like Curaleaf. They also have shake, which is half the price of bud by weight, but it smokes more like trim and shake, or just trim, despite the small spare buds that seem present to convince me that its really shake. For me and especially because of my tolerance when I see trimmed leaves, even sugar leaves in my shake, it's no longer shake. It's trim. Which is about 4% cannabis oil compared to bud which is around 25% oil by mass. Shake is supposed to be about 15-20% oil by mass. I say: Don't buy shake, it's a waste of your money. Don't find out after 4 trips to the dispensary. I know it looks like a lot. Anyway I'm sure people with a lower tolerance could appreciate the "shake" at CCF, becuase it does cause an effect, but for me I would have to smoke more than double the weight of bud I smoke in CCF shake to have the same effect. (4 year user) But other people, like I said who have a lower tolerance or haven't been smoking cannabis will have a nice effect from trim and it definitely does make sense to buy it (even if it's half trim) if you are new to cannabis becuase of the expense and effect on newbies. But it burns black and is a very dry smoke compared to bud. Every time I go I get the marijuana with the highest THC so that way I can just smoke a little bit and get the most effect. Be careful with the high THC strains though. They will make you feel so relaxed that you won't want to move or you may fall asleep. I almost didn't write this review because I want to keep the Compassionate Care Foundation to myself. Most of the employees are really nice and will entertain any questions you have but like any business, there are always one or two employees that force you to be assertive due to unnecessary resistance. This isn't a problem for me because when I feel like I need something and it's not against the company's policy, I am totally OK with demanding the service. read more

For some odd reason, the leadership at The Botanist have decided to not provide customers any information on upcoming sales. Instead, you have to sign up for a newsletter which never comes, or call them. The issue with calling is that no one ever answers the phone. It always goes straight to voicemail and no one replies back for at least 48 hours after you leave a message, if they respond at all. The leadership in this company needs to be removed and replaced with those that are actually competent in how to run a business and provide customer support. I will happily drive an extra 20 minutes to Curaleaf since they are upfront with their pricing and procedures, and have a larger and more unified selection of products as well. Also, their website looks like it was actually designed in this century compared to the shopping experience at The Botanist website, which even Botanist employees say is really bad...yikes! Also, the pricing is outrageous! NJ is in the top states for the most expensIve legally sold Marijuana, and we have places like The Botanist to thank for keeping the price so high. And yes, I created a Yelp account just to make this review...it's that bad. Update 12/23: The Botanist voicemail is full, meaning numerous customers have been trying to get in contact, but can't. Reached out via Facebook Messenger. Won't get a response for at least 48 hours, if they respond. Reached out from their website form. Won't get a response for at least 24 hours, if they respond. Update 12/24: Called, no answer as expected, but was able to leave a 3rd voicemail. That means they have at least received and heard one of my voicemails, but never reached out. Still no contact via email or Facebook Messenger. Update 12/26: Still no contact via email, Messenger or phone call. Update 12/28: Had some back and forth via email and was told that you can see the Specials if you sign up for the newsletter. So if you're new or not signed-up for the newsletter you don't get to know anything. Smart policy. Genius! They did not care that they took days to respond to any contact, and made the excuse it was busy. Switched to Curaleaf. It's about a 20 minute longer drive for me, but completely worth it! To start, their website is light years easier to navigate and the buying experience was a breeze. You're also provided all the specials and best pricing right up front, and the location is freaking huge! The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and seem to care about what you need. Oh, and when you call, they actually answer the phone! Big difference from The Botanist. read more

This is a three register place not even designed to serve the adult use community. If you feel like waiting longer than anywhere else in New Jersey, then enjoy. The preorder system doesn't even work as I showed up three hours after ordering, only for them to have never heard of me. I've liked this place since they open. They taught me how real clean bud is suppose to taste. I know the potency is not like on the streets, but it is clean with no Unknown chemicals. Get my drift. The lines are not near, and I do mean not near what the lines used to be. Yes, the bud changes a lot and we have to remember to do our own research. This experience was....odd. I had my medical card in PA and lived in California for a year, so when I planned to go to the Botanist, I expected an easy, quick, and friendly experience. But that was NOT what happened. I went on a Saturday and got there around 12:30 to a line of people outside. I get in it and assume it's going to move fairly quickly as I see people going in and out of the building. A few people from the line are let inside, and then we wait. 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes, then about 30 minutes in the shade in the December cold before they allow 10 more people in. Once you're in, you're in ANOTHER line for 30+ minutes. I heard a lot of people in line talking about how this is a standard experience - one woman said she was in line THREE HOURS the night before, but had to leave to pick up her daughter. One poor woman's husband had to get out of line and get the woman her walker as her bad back couldn't take standing for hours. It seems The Botanist is the only dispensary for the shore points that serves adult use, so it gets busy. Medical card patients have priority, so they walk right on in and sit in the lobby and get served, and the adult use patients get served when they can I guess, hence the long wait times. It felt almost distopian, the medical card patients skip the line and walk right on in and sit in nice chairs in the warm lobby, but the adult use people are like second class citizens and have to stand in a line outside and then another line inside on the other side of the room. There was a gentleman in the lobby having an argument with somebody on speaker phone, and someone in my line was playing videos on his phone at full volume, but gave other people a look if they were on the phone or playing videos. This was going on for more than an hour while I'm waiting. When I was finally served, I was helped by a very nice woman, but she had absolutely 0 sense of urgency. While picking out my order, she stopped and was casually chatting with a co worker for a few minutes. It reminded me of the DMV where the employees could not care less about the huge line of people needing services. It helped me understand why I waited an hour to spend $65 on 2 items. I finally left at 1:40pm. The system for adult use patients here has a LOT of room for improvement. Thankfully I didn't have anywhere to be and could afford waiting more than an hour, but I don't think I'll be returning. If you go here, please be prepared for a long wait with a cast of characters, bring snacks and headphones. read more

As a new mmj card holder, Compassionate Care was my first choice. I had a scheduled appointment with a Budtender who went over the ins and outs of mmj, strains etc... He was helpful and knowledgeable with their products. I have Multiple Sclerosis and he was able to assist me with a few strains that would good for me. The facility is on the smaller side, staff attends to you quickly and efficiently and the product is excellent. This is my go to dispensary! read more

The manager instructed me to come back the next day to "swap it out" when I arrived the next day the manager at this time offered me 30% off instead of simply replacing the broken one they gave me. I came to this store for the first time and the weed you sold me smells like mold/mildew. They say the legal market is supposed to be better, safer and more reliable, but in 25 years of buying it illegally I never had this experience - not even once. Now I'm out $70 (which is already completely unreasonable, even for good bud) for an 1/8 of what I can only describe as moldy, disgusting garbage - literally smells like a wet basement. I'm afraid to try it for fear of getting sick. Please step up your quality control. This place is run poorly. Most of the staff are ok, then others are unprofessional and inept. The Supervisor, if you can call him that is a decent enough chap, but it's obvious he has much to learn. The staff needs more training, the leadership needs maturing. The product availability is almost non-existent. Too often there is literally one strain to choose from? Bellmawr is overcrowded but at least the staff there knows what they are doing and that the customer has quite a number of the product to choose from. Not here. This is the second time I go there. And both times waiting was not ok. I got there and there was no line outside. The only line was the one inside with maybe 11 people waiting to purchase weed. So once again, they gave all of there employees on their lunch break and only had 2 employees helping adult use customers. So waiting in line and watching the many medical use customers bring let in over and over. I understand that medical goes in before adult use. But when they opened a couple months ago, they had 2 employees helping just medical. medical use. Now they just use every employee for medical, no matter how many adult use customers there are. Also they don't stagger employee breaks. They just let them all go. The employee who opens the door to let someone in, would not acknowledge us that have been standing in the inside line for 45 min!!! I am a paying customer and I demand to be treated like one. Don't segregate us adult use customers! As soon as another dispensary opens I WILL BE Going there! Next time treat you customers they way you would like to be treated. .
