This place has such a good potential and great location, but I would classify it the same as the Dutchmill restaurant on the Queens road close by. Again taking the advantage of no big competition around this area.
ATMOSPHERE is very cosy and the SERVICE is usually great and fast. The only thing is, the FOOD - is more likely pub food with the west end restaurant prices.. We have been there few times (due to its location around our house pretty much) and never had something we would think 'oh wow that was good'. Rather than it was OK, but nothing spectacular.
I would not go for their lunch menu again, however. The pasta I had was nothing better than the prepared one from the coop around the corner, reheated in the microwave =(
So for me - not great value for money, unless you just need something fast close by - for the convenient location. For great pub/restaurant food we rather take a bike and go to the Lairhillock Inn.
Still, good place to pop in for an evening drink read more
