The owner was super friendly and shared lots of information about the wines. He makes them all. I did a tasting of 5 wines and price was more than reasonable. The winery is in a storefront in town and was welcoming and inviting. Lots of room, yet cozy. Nice variety from dry to sweet. We left with 2 bottles to go. I walked into the bathroom (as every middle-aged woman does before getting into the car) and was greeted with the overwhelming stench of bleach. It was so strong some of the women were coughing. I like a little smell of bleach because it lets me know it's clean. Well, this smell was false advertising. The sink reminded me of a single guys apartment. There was a layer of filth that I could wipe with my paper towel. But back to the wines... They were ok. Nothing remarkable enough to buy, but no samples were left behind.

I always try to review a brewery based on beers alone but sometimes it's hard. Sometimes I stop in and the vibe is just not good, or the service sucks, but neither was the case here. Great vibe, friendly staff and patrons. And as I will get to in a moment, the beer was great too. This is a small brewery with a one barrel system and a small tasting room. It's size belies it's impact though. The beers were really good, although I will not review them in depth individually. Sorry but I ended up chatting with Jameson, the owner, as well as a couple of patrons at the bar. The beer highlights for me were the blueberry and the barrel aged red. SWPFTD would enjoy the barrel aged red. In fact it might have made her PD if you know what I mean. You probably don't but if you don't take the time to figure it out you never will. Your loss... Of course your loss could be your time in figuring it out. This is going to be a short but enthusiastic review. I would definitely recommend stopping in at Third Life Brewing if you are in the area. Of course it would be really hard to stop in if you aren't in the area. In fact I'm hoping to stop in again since I missed picking up a TLB sticker for my RV fridge which is covered in brewery stickers. Maybe Jameson will read this and reach out to offer up a sticker. My two friends and I who have traveled extensively to wine regions and have a lot of wine knowledge joined me while we were on a vacation in the area. We all are dry drinkers. We could not get beyond the awful aromas of the wines, let alone the undrinkable flavors. Because everything we attempted to try were beyond horrible, we believe it has to be the winemaking practices, not just an "off", single bad bottle of wine. The website description of this tasting room led us to believe there was a variety of MI wineries represented, not just Love's Winery. We had never had Love's wines before, but now we know. This could be a nice spot to enjoy a drink...if it had palatable wines.
