Rolando has opened an awesome space here. The location is great, two blocks off of I-95, and the size is perfect for killer openings. There are a lot of Blue Chip galleries in Palm Beach that are intimidating to even walk into, you feel like you have to wear gloves and booties just to go inside. Box Gallery is an artists gallery, completely unpretentious and comfortable. I feel like I could walk in and spray paint the shit out of his walls and he'd be cool with it, maybe even sell the wall. The place reminds me of galleries in downtown Los Angeles, they were small, not in the best neighborhoods but would show the cutting edge of contemporary art, music and poetry. Rolando's Galleries, all of them, always have something fresh and amazing to look at!!! Turning events into a spectacle and making Art personable again, also frequent NEW events!!! He even worked a payment system for me for one of his personal pieces that was Paid in Full before shipped!!! He is an approachable Art Gallery Owner, always interested in showing great Artworks!!! I have attended all openings since The Box Gallery (AKA The Box) opened. All visits were exhilarating, fun, and time well spent. Rolando is often at the location and seems to always relish visits...I suspect even when he is busy. The half block area (including art facilities next door) will, I suspect, serve as an embryo of much to come in that area of West Palm Beach.
