Came here around 5:00 pm on a Friday and I was surprised that tables were full as was the bar! Luckily, we were able to score the last two open chairs at the bar and we had a beautiful view of the lake out the windows. Service was great, especially considering how busy it was. The ladies behind the bar kept things moving! We ordered drinks (excellent Manhattan, btw) and some food. While waiting for the food, we had a nice chat with two locals who have lived here all their lives and that contributed to the fun vibe of the place. You hear about taciturn folks in the Northeast but we had several people talk to us, but then again, maybe we stuck out and everyone could easily tell we weren't local. In any event, it was lovely. The food was good too. Shrimp cocktail was on point but the highlight were the chicken tenders. The portion was gigantic...we were expecting maybe four tenders and there were something like eight! They were fried perfectly too. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside....really well done. As we were leaving, there were people already waiting for tables so this must be a very popular place to eat and based on my experience (friendly environment, great service, terrific food) it's not hard to see why. We recently dined at Breeze Restaurant in Gilford, and the location couldn't be more beautiful right on the lake with amazing waterfront views. The restaurant is spacious and airy, with plenty of window seating so you can enjoy the scenery while you eat. They also have an outside deck, but we stayed inside since it was a bit too warm out to enjoy a meal. The menu offers a great variety of choices for everyone. I ordered the seafood platter, my daughter had the salmon tacos, and my husband chose the blackened chicken salad. The chicken wasn't really blackened as described, it came out more lightly grilled, but it was still good. The star of the meal was definitely my daughter's salmon tacos with fries. They were absolutely delicious with fresh pineapple and mango, giving them a tropical flavor that was fresh, light, and full of flavor. My seafood platter was just okay. Everything tasted fresh, but I wasn't a fan of the batter, and I felt the portion was a bit small for the price. Overall, we had a great dining experience with friendly service, beautiful lake views, and a relaxing atmosphere. Came here for dinner last night before the Zac Brown concert, our first time but will not be our last! Our meals were delicious and the mussels we had for an appetizer were so fresh and tasty too! Only gripe is they only put one piece of bread on the plate with them for dipping, which between 4 people was not enough, but we did ask for more bread and got it with no problem. Our server was very friendly and did a wonderful job taking care of us. The meals we had were, the baked haddock, the swordfish, blackened mahi mahi over a salad and the beet salad with steak. The bar area looked really fun but there were no seats, maybe next time. The view of the lake is so beautiful it would've been nice to sit there. Perfect little spot and I will be sure to tell all our friends to try the Breeze! read more

FIRST! They ran out of the fried oyster. Then we tried to order the Seafood pasta, which was supposed to include mussel, but they had run out of. The waitress offered to swap out extra scallops for the mussels. Then a manager with a scowl on her face came over to tell us there was an up charge for the scallops that the waitress offered up. Then when the waitress brought the dish to us, she dropped the entire bowl missing the floor and barely landing on a chair. The food was entirely tossed around in the bowl barely missing the floor And just served it to us. Then the power went out in the entire restaurant. There were no lights snd no air conditioning. Then they wanted us to leave our credit card number since their registers were not working and told us they could not tell us how much the estimated bill was. Guess no one knew how to pull out the menu and use math to tabulate how much we might have owed on the bill. Waitress was nice. Manager not so much. read more

First. Had a bit of a wait but no big deal. Finally got seated and waited more than ten minutes for ANYONE to come by and ask for drinks. It was the way overworked manager and not our server. When the server (Jordan) came by she had zero personality and barely interacted at all. We ordered an app it they were of the bruschetta so we got the calamari. It was actually pretty good. But it was down hill from there. Ran out of drinks three times. Again the manager to save the day after I flagged her down. J. Only stopped long enough to see if we needed anything barely waiting for a response. I ordered the fried seafood platter. The fish was good but there was not cocktail sauce. After waiting another 10 minutes J again arrived only to say they were out and she had to make it. After enough time for my shrimp to become cold she finally brought out HER version of cocktail that apparently was saracha sauce with a little lemon and horseradish. I was done. My drink Was out again. Food was cold. I would suggest avoiding this place. There server was very poor, no personality, and they did not care about a quality experience, only churning you out. Other turnoffs were the poor sound quality with loud drunk people at an open air bar with no wall to break up the sound. Expected so much more. Avoid this place. read more

1st impressions are important & The Breeze faired well with me. The bar & dining area has a bright contemporary atmosphere to it. Additionally the bar seating has a beautiful view of Lake Winnipeasaukee. Only had drinks & an appetizer but both were very good. The bartender was prompt and polite. Looking at their menu, food and drink prices are reasonable. I'll definitely be back in the future to more thoroughly check out their menu selections. I tried The Breeze for the first time on Monday evening and can't wait to go back! We got there around 5 and had no problem getting a table for 3. The atmosphere is fantastic.. bright and open (and spotlessly clean!) with gorgeous views of the lake. We sat at a high top in the bar area and it was perfect. The drink menu was eclectic with lots of unique specialty cocktails - I got a Mezcal Negroni and it was absolutely delicious... I've been talking about it all week! The wine selection was plentiful as well. We started off with the grilled octopus appetizer and were certainly not disappointed! It was cooked to perfection and the presentation was great. I had a Caesar salad with steak tips for dinner which were also cooked perfectly medium rare and the homemade dressing was excellent. The burger looked great and so did the Steak tip salad! The rest of the menu sounds awesome and I can't wait to go back! Matt, our server, was very personable and knowledgeable about both the food & drink menu. Everyone working was pleasant and smiling and that makes the whole experience that much better. As someone who works in the restaurant industry (and have for many years) I can be critical.... But this place gets 5 stars hands down! 10/10 would recommend! read more

Food here is like a great burger place. Don't order the duck. It is very tough. My daughter had the pork belly sandwich which was very good. I returned later and had one of the seafood appetizers which were very good very good. The service was slow at best but they finally noticed I was there (right at the bar) . The view from the bar is absolutely beautiful and makes the whole visit worth while. They have a picture window to die for and a spectacular view of Lake Winnipesaukee. read more

One of the best meals I've had in the Lakes Region. The setting is lovely- with views out to the lake. The entire bar area is particularly nice. We were a group of 4 and sat at a window table. For 2 people the bar is also a great spot. The menu is wide, diverse, interesting and reasonable- including apps, soups, salads sandwiches and entrees. I had two apps and I loved the grilled octopuss in a herb chile olive oil with a little bit of seafood. It was tasty, firm but not chewy. I also had the Ahi Tuna which was a good quality and the soy wasabi was explosively good. Others had the seafood saffron which had that distinct spice's flavofing and included lobster, shrimp and scallops. And the blackened mahinahi was also delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Delicious food, great location, nice ambience and excellent service. Highly recommend The Breeze. read more

The Breeze opened up in Gilford last week, formerly Lyons' Den Restaurant & Tavern, located next to the NHSP Marine Patrol building and docks, overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee.  This renovated restaurant and bar provides a great view of the Lake serving up a variety of sandwiches, appetizers, soups, chowders, salads, and dinner entrees (seafood, chicken, duck, steaks, filets). Most entrees in the $14-$34 range. The place offers a full bar with 8 beers on tap, wine, and cocktails, seating up at the bar and table seating (white table cloth covered & linen napkin wrapped silverware) on the main dining room floor. I stopped by for dinner at The Breeze after work. Since the place wasn't too busy on a sunny Monday evening, I took a seat up at the bar and given a menu to look at. For a starter, the Roasted Artichoke Dip ($12 plus tax) came out very hot, which had a mix of baked gruyere cheese, roasted red peppers, artichokes, spinach, topped with fresh avocado slices, served with fried naan flatbread for dipping. For dinner, the Swordfish Sandwich ($16 plus tax) had grilled fish topped with pickled onions, red cabbage, garlic in rolled toasted bao bun with Cajun aioli (just like the naan I had, except not fried) served with lightly fried fresh cut fries and a zingy apple cole slaw. I was very full after that and got the check which was $30.38 with tax and before tip.   Overall the food I had was excellent and the service from the two bartenders on duty was attentive and prompt. They let me enjoy the appetizer first and put in the order for my sandwich plate as I was finishing the dip. I was also given a refill on my ice water too. Other diners at the bar were enjoying their beers and the food. The couple next to me enjoyed their grilled prawns and seafood saffron with jasmine rice dinners. The Breeze is definitely a great stop for lunch and dinner & drinks, especially before concerts at Meadowbrook down the road. The food here is similar in price to Meadowbrook and the beer is cheaper here. read more

Love, Love, Love the Breeze! The staff is amazing...from a friendly, smiling face upon walking in, staff walking by, the GM... all working together - aka, 'one team'! Their is a good menu selection for non-seafood eaters (like myself); and they've been great with minimal modifications. Menu pricing is within what you'd expect to pay; typically the 'specials' are the most expensive ($50-$60) but worth it. When it's busy, the overall noise level is high --and the AC can have a hard time keeping up in the summer. They've upgraded one of their ACs recently which should help improve. Few of my favs are the chicken tenders, flatbreads, veggie rice bowl, chicken sandwich and pork chop. Nice ambiance and 98% of the patrons are very friendly! We got a reservation for 12 on a Saturday which was amazing in its own right. Lakeside view was beautiful. Server was super attentive and on top of all the minor requests. Crab cakes were delicious and the pico de gallo had an extra spicy kick to it. The ahi tuna was delicious but the portion was on the smaller side. The chicken prosciutto was outstanding. Yes the chicken dish! Chicken breast was well seasoned and moist, and the prosciutto wrap was salty and complimented the chicken really well. Definitely would order that again. This is an update for a previous review I did a year ago. At that time, I gave it 3 stars but dropped that to 2 stars for a recent visit where conditions were, if you can believe: worse. The food is top notch and the wait staff outstanding, but the owner must not care about this issue because nothing has been done and this time: WE WILL NOT GO BACK no matter how good the food and view is...... Here's what I said last time and it is what I'll say again this time: "... as other reviewers have pointed out: the noise level in this place is out of control. It was bad when it was the previous restaurant, but it is worse now because of the bar. The acoustics are awful. Anyone who had been to this restaurant before had the same complaint. Why didn't the new owners address this? You just can't pack in that many seats and not do something with the acoustics. You can't. My wife and I had to literally yell across the table to hear each other. We were celebrating my largest monthly trading profit, and would have stayed for an after dinner liquor or coffee, or have ordered another first salad course or something to propagate the experience, but we were just not going to sit there amid fellow diners also screaming at each other to be heard. Fix the acoustics. Do s-o-m-e-t-h-i-n-g..... Man, it's quieter at McDonalds on Saturday lunch time with cub scout pack 228.... Will we go back? I just don't know...." read more

The place was beautiful and the staff seemed very nice. The food, however, was horrible. I ordered the ribs and chicken tender appetizer. This was a takeout order that I brought back to my hotel, which is less than 5 minutes from my restaurant. The fries were tasteless and soggy, the ribs tasted like they had been soaked in dirty dish water, and the chicken was so rubbery I could have used them to patch a tire. I think if you like seafood this might be a good place to go but if you want anything else don't bother. read more

We went here for our anniversary dinner. The menu is very broad, the service is good, and we were seated quickly. But the food wasn't great. It was acceptable, but our entrees - the panko-crusted halibut and the saffron seafood - were rather flavorless. The asparagus that came with the halibut was also pretty tasteless. The calamari tasted and looked almost exactly like Burger King onion rings (for real - it was uncanny.) Finally, as other reviewers have noted, the place is pretty noisy, and the design decision to move the bar to where diners can no longer see the lake is a little questionable, though the decor - with historic pictures and signs of the region - is very engaging. read more

Ellacoya Barn and Grill was packed so they suggested this place which has the same owners. Unfortunately same issues. No flavor! Everything is fresh and has great ingredients sans seasoning. The portion of steak for my steak salad was also a tad small. The octopus app was really delicious but the presentation was like a horror movie! My date is traumatized! We sat at the bar. We really like the food, service and vibe. The servers know the regulars and are warm and friendly. Great view of the lake. The hostess/mgr seemed to recognize us and greeted us. I enjoyed a moist chicken dish with mozzarella, jasmine rice and asparagus. I loved it. My husband had a beautiful piece of fish. Just what we wanted after a long rainy day. Great drinks too.
