Never had to wait more than two minutes to get helped at the bar, the service was quick and the bartenders were nice! Came by with my girlfriend on a Saturday night to shoot some pool and we had a lovely time! Really extensive beer menu that also includes seltzers and some hard liquor shooters/shots (no cocktails). They don't have any food but welcome any outside food and they had a taco guy come outside around 10 pm (which actually ended up being delicious). We added our names to the pool waiting list and waited maybe about 20 - 30 minutes. They have 8 pool tables available for $12/hr or $6/hr during happy hours (5 pm-9 pm). I liked the crowd and the vibe was nice. We had a good time overall, I'm just not sure we'd come back because we prefer cocktail bars. read more

The spot is a bit hidden away but added to its charm, feels like a true local dive bar. This place used to have one of the best playlists in the area where customers would recommend and regularly vibe with. Its almost like someone came in and to randomly change the music choice to basic EDM and pop hits. They used to play everything from classic grooves to modern funk and jazz, i loved it so much I added their locations playlists on spotify called Brickyard Boogie. I still bump it to this day, and every time i go to play pool I don't get to hear it which is a tragedy. If I could give this place 0 stars I would, because of "michael" the manager.... I came to have a peaceful game of pool which I don't usually play, my uncle decided to try to pay $40 to get ahead, & i understand this is wrong but before I could say anything to my uncle to try and tell him that we should leave because the line is long, the bartender/ manager decided to tell my uncle that he could lose his job if he took his money, he turned around and then came back and said if he gave him $80 dollars to skip the line that it would be more worth his while. We are very offended and a puled by the type of service Michael ("the manager") has given us this night on 2/17/24. We also feel like he was in the wrong as a manager position to even negotiate a price because he said he can lose his job. I personally will never come back due to this situation. I loved this place I am trans mtf their are only 2 barpeople here and I wish I knew their names one is amazing and the other is not to my liking!... I ordered my 2nd beer and booked a table by putting my name on the waiting list white board at 7:45 they have a happy hour from 7 PM to 9 PM which is half price, pool tables, and a free beer if you order two. I sat and waited while I could clearly see a open table and a rack of balls under the bar someone else walked up whose name was not on the white board and this male barperson gave them what I perceived as my table. I questioned their decision and expressed my displeasure politely and offered to shake their hand as long as the happy hour price applied to my next game which would now be delayed till after happyhour. he refused to shake my hand and proceeded to gaslight me by saying that this was my fault for not expressing my desire to be playing pool before happy hour ended... adequately for his tiny brain....this excuse/insult angered me but only slightly but his anger caused him to close out my bill refuse to give me my free beer and tell the security guard to 86 me permanently! What a fun dive! They have a HUGE selection of canned drinks. They say it's 100+ beers but their menu has a lot of seltzer's, kombuchas, and other types of drinks that I'm not sure they are including in their beer count. Either way, it's still a lot of variety! They have good beers that are local and not. They also have $2 shots with a beer purchase! The atmosphere is just as great as the variety in beer. They have a few dart boards in good condition with nice darts (not the plastic ones that tend to break). There's plenty of pool tables as well. This place is in the middle of Hollywood but so refreshingly non-Hollywood. First of all, there is a REAL parking lot! I dread coming to this area because of the overpriced valet or the frustrating time spent circling for a spot. But a parking lot! I got here early enough before it filled up, but I love that it's here. The Brickyard is very casual and reminiscent of your pool hall back home, evoking nostalgia. Dark, nondescript, and full of pool tables, shuffleboard and dart boards. There is a smoking patio on the 2nd floor, too. The beer menu boasts over 100 beers in many varieties, and just bottled beer. To be honest, they were a little overpriced just for a bartender opening a bottle and handing it to you.... no pint glasses or taps.... but I do like that it has such an overall relaxed vibe. I liked this place, and while skimming the reviews later, it was disappointing to see the owner's childish, unprofessional responses to some of the reviews. This has nothing to do with my personal experience here and didn't affect my rating, but seeing a business owner reply to customers with name-calling and put-downs makes me think twice about supporting this place. Doesn't look like they're hurting for business, but I hope they get their customer service act up. read more

I've been going to this bar for about two years now and the bartenders are exceptional. Camila and Mayo were my favorites for a while but Michael has been a great addition since he started. They used to have such a great music selection which was one of the reasons I was such a frequent attendee but the last couple months have changed with a non linear playlist that goes from rock to hip hop to EDM to songs from 20 years ago. It's the perfect bar for a night out if they brought back a better playlist, because the current one is almost unbearable. read more
