Place for pool and beer in Hollywood area. Affordable, Gave us free time to play darts while waiting for pool table. Cool ambiance but it gets crowded after 9pm, when the fun begins.

They have a bunch of drinks for a great price compared to all the other spots in Hollywood. Never had to wait more than two minutes to get helped at the bar, the service was quick and the bartenders were nice! The whole place is chill, it can get a bit busy so expect to wait a bit to get a dart board or pool table.

Great spot for some pool! It's $6 an hour from 7-9pm. Goes up after that. They also have a happy hour special during that time where you buy 2 drinks and get one for a penny. The pool tables fill up fast so get there early. The hard kombucha here is great.

Ok the music still sucks but let's petition to get rid of that random shuffle board in the pool hall. I've been coming here for years and have never seen a single person use it. It's just in the way of that corner table for literally no reason. Just there. In the way. Screwing with peoples shots. Also, cmon. It's Hollywood. Top 40 music is not ok in any way shape or form. Play some punk or funk or something half decent. Please?! Oh and either get some half decent wine or charge a corkage. If you don't have what people want to drink then they're going to just buy it at the liquor store and drink it in the parking lot anyway. Might as well make a little on your end. I don't do that but trust me I've seen, and dealt with all walks of idiot that have been parking lot pimping on some dog sh$t tequila, cough, casamigos. You can't fix stupid but at least cater to your guests with sense, taste, and olfaction by letting them bring in a bottle of wine for a corkage fee. Music. Corkage. Get rid of random pointless shuffle board. That's how you make Brickyard Pub even better. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. Good night.

BIG beer selection. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a variety. The beers range from $6 to $8, not bad at all for Hollywood area. The spot is a bit hidden away but added to its charm, feels like a true local dive bar. It's a decent size, the darts and bar area are in the first room and to the side is another large room with eight pool tables. It wasn't too busy tonight, put our name on the list for a table and only waited about ten minutes. Very chill vibe. Oh & the bartender was very nice as well, always a plus.

100 beers + Pool and Darts, say nothing less. I can't appreciate this place any more. It's always kind to those that choose the right table and brew. So money

The establishment was named after Elias Jackson "Lucky" Baldwin - a prominent 19th century businessman who purchased over 40,000 acres of land in SoCal including Rancho Santa Anita, which became the foundation for Arcadia, Baldwin Park, & Baldwin Hills. He also built the opulent Baldwin Hotel & Theatre in San Francisco. I've been here in the past to watch Soccer matches with friends. The vibe is lively, especially during a match. Inside is reminiscent of a cozy countryside pub with exposed brick & wooden beams. The outdoor patio is dog friendly (they even have a doggie menu), and it is charming at night with the lights. My friend and I stopped in for a drink. He had a beer and I had a glass of Chandon. (They do have a full bar.) The bartender was friendly and checked on us frequently. We enjoyed our visit and conversation. I'm sure this place will be packed during World Cup. *Dog Friendly *Adjacent parking garage (90 mins free) or metered street parking.

Literally the worst service I've ever recieved in my life…read more I honestly wish I had a good thing to say because my friend and I came looking especially for an irish pub to try an irish coffee. We sat outside and it took a few minutes for a waitress to hand us menus. And I will admit that their beer list is extensive with a good variety of different types of beer. My friend and I each ordered one drink and shared a sandwich and asked for water when we first sat down because it was hot outside. Our sandwich came out before our drinks. Which was weird. We finally got our drinks and had asked for water a second time. It never came. Our waitress told us she was the only one covering the floor, and it was obviously a busy day. There was some kind of soccer match or sports game on that a lot of people were watching. So the place was full. And I understand being busy but the poor planning of having only one server on staff? It was the most irritating dining experience I've ever had.

The bartenders are friendly, attentive, and genuinely on top of things, which is a big reason we've kept coming back. Over time, we've even met some of the owners, and the place has always felt welcoming and well-run, even through ownership changes. That's why this last visit stood out and not in a good way. The bar was packed for the basketball games, and the staff was clearly hustling. Honestly, they could've used more support behind the bar for a crowd like that. Instead, one of the partners seemed to take on the role of... social host. He made sure people knew who he was, but didn't actually step in to help where it mattered. We've seen other partners jump behind the bar or run food when things get busy, so the contrast here was hard to miss. At times, it felt less like leadership and more like a running announcement tour. Meanwhile, the team that was actually working kept pushing through a packed house. The vibe took another hit with the TVs. With so many screens already locked on basketball, it didn't seem like a big ask to change just one on baseball. One of the bartenders even put it on, but a few minutes later, after a guest played into Mr. Big Shot's ego, he went and changed it right back. Just unnecessary, and honestly felt a little performative. We still like this place and really appreciate the staff who show up and do the work. But that interaction definitely left a different impression than what we've come to expect here.

Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. I ordered the chicken schnitzel with mushroom gravy, my boyfriend got the Hungarian brat with spaetzle, and our friend ordered the Hungarian brat on a roll. Starting with the schnitzel: it wasn't completely terrible, but it definitely wasn't good. The breading was some what soggy and sliding off the chicken, and the chicken itself had almost no seasoning besides an odd lemony sourness. The mashed potatoes were honestly awful -- extremely sour, like they were overloaded with sour cream but missing butter, salt, or any real flavor. I LOVE mashed potatoes and only managed two bites before giving up. The red cabbage was overcooked, mushy, and had a slightly off taste. Overall, the schnitzel plate was maybe a 2/10, and those points go solely to the fact that the chicken itself was technically edible. My boyfriend's meal somehow managed to be worse. The bratwurst was fine, but tasted frozen and reheated rather than fresh. The sauerkraut, according to him, "tasted like dirty socks." The spaetzle was genuinely offensive -- mushy, overly bland, and tossed with what looked like hydrated diced mushrooms that literally tasted like dirt. I honestly questioned whether it had gone bad. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself felt dirty and had a strange smell throughout. It honestly seems like a place locals may still visit out of habit or convenience, but it no longer reflects what I imagine it once was. It's unfortunate, because there's something special about a restaurant that's been around for 65 years and still tries to maintain its old-school charm. Sadly, the food and cleanliness just don't live up to that legacy anymore. Save your money unless you're only stopping in for an overpriced German draft beer. We definitely won't be back.

Finding Hidden Gems: Art District Brewing in Little Tokyo, LA…read more One of my favorite rituals when traveling is hunting down the best local breweries -- and Los Angeles did not disappoint. Tucked away in the vibrant heart of Little Tokyo, Art District Brewing instantly caught my attention. The atmosphere alone made it worth the visit, with that perfect blend of industrial cool and neighborhood charm that only LA seems to pull off. The tap selection was impressive -- thoughtfully curated and clearly crafted with intention. But honestly? The food is what stole the show. I always love leaning on a server's recommendations, and this time it paid off beautifully. The chicken tenders arrived golden, perfectly crispy on the outside, and impossibly juicy within. These weren't your average bar bites -- they were the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-conversation just to appreciate the moment. Whether you're a craft beer obsessive or simply someone who appreciates great food in a great setting, Art District Brewing belongs on your LA itinerary.
