As soon as we pulled in, we knew it was a gold mine of good food. The place was packed but with a more mature demographic. Enjoying a long lunch. The food was perfect. The shops and bakery were great! Would love to go back. We enjoyed the mince and tatties as well as the bacon and Brie sandwich with the soup of the day. They were delicious.

Non of us could fault our food all very tasty plates which included Nacho chicken panini, ham and lentil soup, chicken mayo sandwich, haggis and cheese sandwich and cheddar and chutney sandwich. All sandwiches came with either crisps or salad and the soup had plenty of fresh bread on the side. A selection of drinks from hot chocolate, coffee, chocolate milkshake and tea was lovely too. As always the stroll around the farm shop afterwards is always full of lovely local produce and I always find something tasty to buy :-)

The staff was nice and gave us a few recommendations, which were super helpful since it was our first time there. The café itself is pretty small, with limited indoor seating and a few tables outside. There was an organized queue to get in and order, but it moved pretty quickly, so the wait wasn't bad at all. The menu is standard cafe fare - a page devoted to breakfast and all the regular things you'd expect to see for lunch. I ordered the pancakes (I LOVE PANCAKES) and was pleasantly surprised to see a huge plate of food arrive in front of me. Four large pancakes with accompanying bacon rashers slathered in maple syrup. The lunch was good and filled me up so much I couldn't eat the last pancake. I would eat here again, as it does its job perfectly well and the food was fine. The cafe was really dark though and terribly stuffy so I wasn't a fan of the atmosphere, but saying that it would appear there's not much else on offer in the town. So if this is the only place for pancakes, you could do an awful lot worse!
