Yoko Ono exhibit - about mothers
    Grace R.

Highly recommend a visit to the Broad. Weekend parking was easy--there's a flat $10 fee at the Music Center garage directly across from the museum, which was a pleasant surprise after trying the Broads garage which was full. We came specifically for Yoko Ono's exhibit and really enjoyed it. I love how interactive her work is. Art is so much about intention and narrative, and you can feel her lifelong dedication to peace and thoughtful reflection on society throughout the exhibit. The Broad's permanent collection is excellent, and the space itself is open, airy, and very cool. General admission is free (you have to sign up for time slot entrance), but we paid $21 per person for the Yoko Ono exhibit. Once you're in for the special exhibit, you also have access to the museum's general collection on the third floor. Overall, it's a fantastic museum and well worth a visit, whether you're coming for a special exhibition or just to enjoy the Broad's impressive collection.

One of my favorite museum in Los Angeles. If you are visiting LA for the first time or want to find something free to do, The Broad is definitely a great option! To get tickets, you must book through their website. Usually there are free tickets, but if you want to see their special exhibits you need to pay additional fee. Parking is available in nearby lots for a fee or you can use public transit such as the gold line to drop you off. Great for dates and friends! I wouldn't recommend for kids under 7, since kids like to run around and touch objects. Guards will remind you not to touch art pieces. No flash photography!

5.8.26 Tickets are recommended and can be reserved on their website, though walk-ins are accepted. Options include General Admission or General Admission with access to the Infinity Mirrored Room (reservations for this open the last Wednesday of each month). I mistakenly booked only General Admission and was disappointed to find that the Infinity Room was fully booked at my time slot. General admission includes access to the museum's third-floor galleries. I typically gravitate toward art museums over history or science museums, and this one delivered. The collection features primarily paintings, along with several portraits and sculptures--engaging and thought-provoking throughout. There is a parking garage located beneath the museum. Rates are $19 for the first three hours with museum validation, $7 for each additional 15 minutes, with a $29 daily maximum. There's also a $19 flat rate after 5 pm on weeknights and all day on weekends.

I was upset when Eli Broad decided not to donate his artwork to LACMA for the BCAM building. However, his branching out on his own to build The Broad and make it FREE has made up for it. The artwork that I remember from the BCAM is now here, along with other pieces from the vast Broad collection. You can book free tickets online ahead of time, though there is an additional charge for special exhibits, like the current Yoko Ono one. There are free Thursdays which give you entry to the special exhibits gratis, but you must book those tickets ahead of time. The staff are very friendly and handle the lines professionally. The architecture of the building is very interesting, with a dramatic escalator entry to the second floor to see the collection. You can see artwork from Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, Ed Ruscha, Kara Walker and so much more. We rode the Metro here and were able to avoid the expensive parking. Bonus!

Came here because it was free and people said we had to see the museum. Well I can assure you the museum might be free but the parking is another story. Parking was a pain and finally when we found a lot, it was 19 dollars for 3 hours. We walked in and went to the infinity room which was mirrors and lights. Then saw the museum upstairs with a bunch of stuff that didn't impress me. I don't get it? Maybe I'm just not an art person.

Looking for something fun to do over the weekend? Admission to the Broad is free and Parking is $19. Accessible by the metro, a stroll the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Living in Los Angeles, it's kind of rare to feel like a tourist in your own city. The Broad is a stunning gallery that has amazing pieces on display! We definitely booked tickets for Takashi Murakami and decided to double up on the Infinity Room. It was so fun and please do not sleep on the gift shop. The Takashi pins are nice gifts!

The Broad is a contemporary art museum in downtown Los Angeles. It's free but you do need to make reservations on line. Parking is available for 19.00 but today is Thursday not sure if the price varies on the weekends. This is our second time visiting it was very nice, not that big, but my teenager enjoyed him self. Very clean, and organized even the bathrooms are pretty:) and not so crowded. So glad we came!!

The Broad is one of the best museum stops in Downtown LA, especially if you're already exploring Grand Avenue, Disney Concert Hall, MOCA, or Angels Flight. It's located at 221 S. Grand Ave. General admission is free, but I definitely recommend booking timed tickets in advance. Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirrored Room requires a separate free timed reservation. The collection is excellent for postwar and contemporary art. Some long-standing highlights include works by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Jeff Koons, Barbara Kruger, Takashi Murakami, and Yayoi Kusama. The security guards/workers were actually engaged in their jobs and protecting the art from patrons who got too close. I've seen many in museums that just sit there and aren't even paying attention. Free admission, a world-class collection, and a great downtown location make it an easy recommendation.

The amazing art collection is huge in scale and quality. The building itself is artfully designed and accessible. As impressive as the above is I was equally as impressed with the attendees. I have never seen as diverse a crowd of young people at any art museum across the US and much of Europe. From singles and couples to families everyone was enjoying the visual spectacles and taking in art! It gave my soul a much needed boost in confidence for the generations coming up. Here's the "KICKER" entrance is free to the public through the generosity of the Broad family whose desire was and is to make art accessible to the people. AMAZING!

**FAVORITE ART MUSEUM IN LA** This is my go-to museum whenever friends visit from out of town. It's free, visually stunning, and always impresses, even people who don't usually visit museums. PARKING I usually park across the street at the Walt Disney Concert Hall garage (enter on 2nd Street) for flat fee of $10. THE MUSEUM The Broad is one of the best free museums in Los Angeles and a must-visit if you enjoy contemporary art. The collection includes bold, modern works and rotating exhibitions, so every visit feels a little different. One of the biggest highlights is the immersive installations, including Yayoi Kusama's famous Infinity Mirror Rooms. Even if you're not a regular museum-goer, the exhibits are engaging and easy to explore at your own pace. And the building itself is worth the visit. The honeycomb-like exterior design is iconic and looks incredible from every angle, great for photos before or after your visit. OTHER TIPS * Reserve free tickets online in advance when possible. Walk-ins are allowed, but lines can get long on weekends. * Visit earlier in the day if you want smaller crowds and easier access to popular installations. * Plan about 1-2 hours to explore comfortably. * Make it part of a Downtown LA day. Grand Central Market and Walt Disney Concert Hall are both a short walk away. * Check the website for special exhibitions, which may require a paid ticket. OVERALL Thought-provoking art, striking architecture, and free admission make The Broad one of the best cultural experiences in Los Angeles.

The Broad Museum in Downtown Los Angeles is a must-visit attraction. This architectural marvel of a museum offers free admission, but you must book your tickets online in advance to choose your preferred time slot. They also have a special exhibition that incurs a small fee. The museum features an impressive collection of contemporary art, featuring renowned artists like Warhol, Murakami, and Basquiat. Their bookstore is a treasure trove of vibrant and delightful gifts for yourself and your loved ones. It's an excellent place to spend hours exploring and admiring the art. Another exciting aspect is the nearby Walt Disney Museum, which resembles the Getty Museum. It's a fascinating sight to behold as you leave the Broad Museum.

    Enjoy

If there was ever a place to look at art - this is one of them. Some of the art can make me think about different things. Some of the art can make me upset about this life experience The elevator is clear. Thank you.

Love that the town has a spot for those searching for contemporary arts...and FOR FREE! Also they typically have seasonal exhibition so there's always different things to see at different times. Murakami one has been my fave so far! Pre-booked tickets and walk-ins both work.

Is the william Kentridge art exhibit part of the free Thursday evening? Can i get In without a ticket…

One question at a time Karen.

I'm trying to get tickets for tomorrow (July 21st) but i don't understand the website. It says tickets for tomorrow are "not yet available." Any ideas on what to do?

Is this place will be open again in November 2020?

    Why wouldn't it be.

    No why would they be.

    How much are the tickets?

When we visited recently it was free to get in. It's a great place.

Are there enough parking spaces in the underground parking garage to be able to park on a Friday evening?

    Yup plenty of space

Use the parking garage directly underneath the building. It's not cheap, but neither is any of the parking nearby. At least you don't have to walk far.

I'm planning to go on Saturday but was unable to reserve tickets... What time is the best time to start lining up upon their opening time? What's the average wait time if I were to arrive at opening time?

Hi. My reservation it's at 12:00 Can I entrance more early? Because I read that there is a lot of people in the waiting line even at 10:00 .

Arriving more than an hour prior is not necessary if you have reservations. The reservation line is much shorter and typically pretty fast because you have a reservation.

If I reserved general admission tickets on a certain day with a certain time, do I have to wait in line or can I just go up to the door?

Itis two lines but if you reserve the tickets defenedly the process is faster. If you want to see the infinity room is down stairs and must reserve the time early is 2 hours wait time

I am so disappointed that after all this time and the loss of some great galleries and historic buildings this "art prison" is what Los Angeles is left with. I felt my faith in this institution slightly restored by walking through the BCAM after my dismal experience in the David Geffen Galleries. If you enjoy photography, this place is a dream--there are beautiful photo opportunities everywhere you look. I also enjoyed browsing the gift shop before leaving. Whether you're looking for a relaxing afternoon, inspiration, or just a break from the city, The Huntington is absolutely worth visiting. I'll definitely be back.

Wasn't able to 1/3 despite spending 3 hours there. You will need to bring sunscreen and water especially during the summer. Of all things would recommend going to the Chinese pavilion and European house/ rose garden. Both of them are by far the most spectacular especially the Chinese pavilion. It so zen and rich with beautiful architecture and biome of life and gardening is spectacular. If you become filthy rich this is the garden you would want. Haha The European house and grounds is beautiful and lush. Great place to enjoy the old money vibes and get your pics at the rose garden.

This…read moremuseum is definitely an art experience worth visiting with iconic figures and street art that paints Mr. Brainwash's (Thierry Guetta) main mantra for the museum, "Life Is Beautiful" which is dedicated to honoring imagination, joy, creativity and inspiration. It's his own work that is displayed but he also references artists work such as the famous Banksy and other artists. A friend told me that the documentary, Exit through the Gift Shop, is connected to this museum. I have yet to watch but will do so to gain more understanding. Apparently, it was free museum day because there were hosts at the door greeting and letting visitors in. That was nice. It wasn't too busy but a good crowd to where I had to wait for my turn to take photos. It's three levels including the rooftop where more artwork is held and a view overlooking Beverly Hills. They also have a gift shop with unique items for purchase. I bought a cutesy pen with an engraved quote on it. To add, I was instantly moved by the creativity and effort they put into this museum. It brought a lot of inspiration. The art work gave me ideas of how I would want a part of my home to look like. It was a fun visit and would recommend for anyone wanting to dig into their imagination and enjoys art. I am also a sucker for anything that brings out the inner child in me and this place fed it well. Thank you, Mr. Brainwash and staff. Ps. The museum might be closed now. Unsure if it's temporary or permanently but still wanted to share my experience. I visited it in January of this year.

All of the work of one artist, Mr. Brainwash, is showcased in this whimsical three story building located across from a parking garage that offers free 2 hour parking. The art pieces were like none other I've seen before from other art museums, yet at the same time, poke fun/homage to all types of classic art. There is a big focus on pop culture icons such as Kobe, Tupac, cartoon characters, and especially Disney characters. Their Disney collaboration is at the rooftop and overall the museum is a great spot for some unique photos and videos. It is truly a shame this museum is closing so soon (it will literally be demolished after all the art here is moved out!) but I'm so thankful my boyfriend and I were able to experience this before the museum closes. - restrooms located on every floor, well-maintained and clean - art pieces come in a variety of mediums, well-decorated space full of so many masterpieces - Qr codes next to some paintings that are available for purchase - free admission, you don't even need any tickets to walk in

It was my first time here even though they were having a 10 year anniversary party. I vaguely knew…read moreabout this place, but I abstained from going because I'm not into modern art. However, on the Time Out website I read that there would be free ice cream and biscuits and the courtyard looked amazing, so I finally decided to go. As an Angeleno my first concern is always parking. I read from previous reviewers that you could pay for valet for the onsite restaurant, Manuela, but when I looked at the menu it looked a bit expensive, so I didn't want to do that. Then I read another reviewer say they found street parking on Hewitt, but when I saw a parking enforcement car there it made me worried, so I ultimately settled on a $5 per hour lot where you could pay by text, which turned out the best since I could extend my stay through my phone when I decided to stay longer. They do trick you though because they'll open up other windows, so you have to make sure you're on the right window where you can extend, not pay for a new session altogether. The old flour mill is beautifully renovated. The exterior alone makes it look brand new. Walking in there's a long hall that leads to the amazing courtyard, but along the way you'll see exhibit rooms and a bookstore. In total I saw 2 big exhibit rooms, 1 small exhibit room, a screening room, a bookstore, and another garden off to the side in addition to the courtyard in the middle. The vibe was casual with people bringing their children and dogs, there was a live band playing salsa music, and a taco truck across the street where I bought my lunch then ate it at the courtyard which has tables and benches. As for the art itself, watching the screenings really does help because then you know what you're looking at. Like one of the pieces was a sculpture of monstrous faces on a marble pedestal. The artist explained that he saw eyes wherever there was a dot in the marble which inspired the faces on the sculpture. Since I didn't want to leave in the middle of the films or the live conversations with the artists themselves, I ended up missing out on the free ice cream, which sucked, but now I'm planning to visit Watts Towers in the future because of the film and panel afterward. It really is a nice space to visit even though I'm not a fan of modern art. At the very least this festival helped me understand some of it a little bit more.

I especially didn't know art, so today I was a pure tourist in this place, and wow. So much, from the wide openness when you come in, to the smells from Manuela, to the superbly mellow chickens. And then the enormous and gorgeous gallery (an expansive exhibit from the collection of Eileen Harris Norton). The only complaint I can muster is that the bookstore is too big, you need really to spend a whole nother trip just to look through it.

Books , trinkets, & museum merchandise is also available. I will come back for their next exhibit to see what other pieces will be displayed.
