A wonderful birthday dinner for my 1000th review (hip hip, hooray!) I've been to plenty of average pubs, what a delight to go to one with such fantastic food. I really love the rustic-chic decor, and three weeks later I'm still dreaming about the fillet of hake with chorizo bolognaise, pine nut & parsley crust, mixed bean cassoulet (I had to look that up off the menu just now, I didn't memorize the description). Oh man. It was absolutely glorious, perfectly cooked, full of flavor, loved the texture of the cassoulet, totally dreamy dish. I felt like I definitely ordered the best thing at the table and it was hard not to brag about it. It's been a few weeks, and the memory of my dessert has gone from my mind - though I vaguely recall it being a lush sticky toffee pudding - but I'll not ever forget that hake and chorizo and beans!
