We are super satisfied with this school since day one and now it has been almost three years. It's a super fun program, and kids will enjoy crafts, music/dancing, yoga, chess and Mandarin plus since last year, school has various choices of after school activities. In summer, kids will also do water play. In winter, kids might have chances to go to the nearby library and indoor gym. Food is always good which saves parents a lot of time preparing breakfast/lunch/snacks. Teachers and staff are always friendly and teaching method is very fun. In terms of culture, especially in the main campus, culture/backgrounds are very diversified. My kid enjoys the school every day. read more

My son was in Ms. Chelsea/Ms. Gale and Mr. Dante/Ms. Yulisa's classes. They love their students with their full hearts. They taught the little ones knowledge, learning skills, and how to behave, which will benefits the kids through out their entire life. My son loves the teachers so much! We feel so lucky that all the teachers my son met at TBS Warren Campus are so nice and so professional. Also, the school has its own kitchen with all organic food, and the Chef will listen to you and adjust the menu if your kids have allergies. Where do I start? The Brunswick School has been has been providing amazing child care and learning for our little ones for over 5 years. We started at the main location when they first opened and my daughter was only 6 months old. 3 years later my son joined their care. We love that they provide wholesome, organic meals and snacks, they value outdoor time (every day they get some time outside, even if just for a walk) and even in the academic classrooms, the students learn though following the areas that interest them--writing, drawing and analyzing subjects that they like. Over the years, we have had different teachers, and been in both buildings at the Brunswick street location, but the level of exceptional care has always been consistent. It is hard to believe that my little baby girl is now almost 6 and in Kindergarten. She continues to amaze me every single day, not only what she has learned, but also in her actions of kindness and compassion. Being in Jersey City without family close has been especially difficult for us over the last year. We have relied on the Brunswick school more than ever. The smiles on my children's faces every morning when they see their teachers and friends has brought much-needed joy. We are so grateful to have them. They are truly our extended family. read more

Not sure why it has taken me so long to write a review of TBS! This is such a wonderful school. My son is in the kindergarten program and my daughter is in one of the young toddler classrooms. They have both been with Brunswick since they were infants. I am so happy we found this community and entrusted them to care for our children. All of the teachers we have had throughout the years have been extremely knowledgeable and caring. Both kids enjoy and look forward to school every day. The meals are a huge time saver (very healthy menu) and the extended hours are a huge benefit for full time working parents. The team has also done an excellent job managing this pandemic. Hands down the best preschool in Jersey City. Our son has been part of the TBS family since he was 2 years (now he is 6). Loves it and gets upset if he misses a day. We have seen him grow to being this confident kid, enriched with knowledge, inquisitive to learn more. Large part of this can be attributed to the teachers, the administration of TBS, their personalized approach to each child's learning curve, it is perfect. With curated food being provide to meet the dietary needs, the extra curricular activities etc, gave us the the comfort that our child getting a well-rounded development. We can't say enough wonderful things about TBS and what the school has done for our daughter. Since she began at the school just before she turned one, her physical and mental development along with her social skills have advanced at an amazing pace as a direct result of the school's programs. Every day is well thought out by the staff with a very specific plan that balances learning with social and play time along with a robust nutrition program. The staff at TBS are second to none. It is obvious that they truly care about the students and the parents. Our daughter has loved every teacher she ever had and considers them her friends. This review is long overdue. We have two kids in the school. One has been there from 2015 when the school opened and his younger brother joined in 2019. We love everything about The Brunswick School. All the teachers our kids had through the years have been great. The school staff is consistent and helpful when you need them. In addition, the school has very large outdoor area for the kids to play outside which is not a given in our urban environment. The organic kitchen is also a huge plus making sure the kids eat healthy every day. I would like to note my son still goes here as we love his class. We have been have been here three years. It was not until the FIRST GRADE teacher Allison Skaggs and the new CEO/HEAD OF SCHOOL Christine Kang came in until we saw issues. We were very happy until first grade. Our daughter was bullied for months and it took her and other parents to let us know. Not a single report was ever made. We finally switched schools and the first grade teacher writes a review for the bully to go to my daughters school that we switched her too. The first grade teacher has lied repeatedly to protect her job after multiple instances. The school has swept it all under the rug and will not deny or acknowledge what happened. Very disappointing as we were advocates for them for years and they turned their backs on us over a teacher who has been there for three months. The new director is a nightmare and condescending. She also just started and I am sure will cause major issues for them in the future. Don't walk but run out of this place. It's sad it has come to this. I read more

Warning to all parents: please do not enroll your child in Brunswick School if you care about your child's safety. Our daughter (13 months at the time) sustained serious facial injuries due to their incompetence. My wife, a doctor herself, was called by Brunswick School staff and told our daughter fell from her high chair. My wife rushed to the school, arrived 30 minutes later, horrified to find our daughter sleeping in a pool of blood. During this time, the Brunswick School did not call for any medical attention for our daughter to be assessed. When my wife found our daughter, she had a deep laceration on her gums with the teeth underneath exposed. My wife demanded to view the videos (which are everywhere, but no one is "permitted" to see them). Finally, she viewed the video where the negligence was clear - our daughter was left unsupervised and unstrapped in her high chair while the staff member walked away. She fell face forward down at least a foot, and hit a metal chair. Our daughter required multiple stitches on her gums, and the experience was traumatic and completely avoidable for us as parents and for our daughter, who was unable to eat for weeks. We are happy to discuss with any parents considering Brunswick School our experiences further. There are many great options for schools in the area, where staff is better trained, and there is a sense of accountability. Brunswick School is not one of those schools. read more

As a parent, it's disconcerting to see another child being bullied right in front of staff that's supposed to be watching these kids. This went on for a few minutes, to the point that the boy on the floor was saying help me. One staff certainly saw this go on but she turned her back, possibly thinking they were playing, still when kids play rough it shouldn't be allowed to go on since kids will think it's ok. There were three staff watching what seems like 15-20 kids in the outdoor play area so the ratio may need to be reconsidered. I suggest the school talk to their staff to ensure this doesn't happen again. Based on this encounter, I would be hesitant to use their services. read more

Just wanted to share a similarly disappointing experience to Mary P's review of the admissions process. Unfortunately, the Brunswick School misled us when we put our son on the waitlist in early 2019. My guess is that they are overwhelmed and not meaning to be malicious but they caused severe anxiety, stress, and yes many tears from my end as I scrambled to find quality care for my baby and even had to extend my maternity leave unpaid because I trusted the Brunswick school when I shouldn't have. From the time we registered onto the waitlist, the program director reassured us that things were looking good although there were no guarantees. They promised to call us with an update no later than 60 days in advance of our start date. 60 days prior to our start date and I had received no call, no email until I started calling them - and even then they said things were still looking good. I started calling them once a week, with the same message - don't worry, everything will work out. I requested the program director connect with me but never received a return phone call. To me, this is unprofessional, impersonal, and disappointing. Their inability to communicate effectively had real consequences on people's lives and their unwillingness to return any attempt for me to communicate with them and share this feedback seems to indicate some dissonance with their stated values. We could not be happier with our decision to send our boys to TBS. As first time parents the teachers have been so supportive and our kids love them. Admissions and the administration have been easy to work with and always available. From the grounds team, kitchen and beyond all the staff are kind and welcoming. Now it has been another year with TBS (the main campus). Last year I wrote a pretty positive review here and this year, we would continue to recommend this school. Our daughter started at year 2.5 (rising school) and now will turn to prek-4 in September. We enjoy every minute of the school since day 1. All the teachers and admin staff we met are super responsible. This school year, we are in Ms.Ghada's class and we feel that the academic program is organized so well. Every day kids will be packed with educational activities and the most important, we love the learning method which is learning through play. Each year, the school will also organize various activities such as parents tea/coffee, kids field trips (onsite and off site), book donation, Christmas wishes, and regular everyday outdoor fun plus water play in summer (weather permitting). In short, we do love this school. And now this school is also expanding till 2nd grade. The only hope is the elementary level of education would be as good as the preschool/prek. We'll see but we're confident with everyone's efforts, TBS can be successful in elementary level too even with relatively short history. read more

The Brunswick School is one of Jersey City's best options for childcare, which is not said lightly as we toured over 10 options before selecting TBS. Our 2+ years there has been a solid experience. Our child thrived in the environment which provided many opportunities for growth. We felt comfortable to voice any concerns and felt heard as they were promptly addressed. I just had to write to sing the Brunswick School's praises. My kiddo has been going here since he was 1 and we were so sad when we had to take an extended break due to COVID. My child returned to their 3K program in October 1 and it has been a godsend. We have always been so happy with the Brunswick schools staff and programming but have been further impressed with how they have handled the pandemic. They have as seamlessly as possible implemented new systems to make the school feel safe for our family. We love TBS! The staff is nurturing and knowledgeable and the classrooms are spacious and bright. In addition, we are very happy that in response to the pandemic, the school has collaborated with health care workers to establish mask requirements, social distancing practices where possible and deep cleaning processes. They take advantage of the fact that Jc residents have few options and change their policy as convenient. My daughter was signed up for the summer camp and placed in a class that was too young for her. When i brought this up, they simply stated they have no room in the other classes. They give priority to lifers. The more they know the revenue will come the more likely they are to care. But care is not a priority just revenue. This rating is for the admissions process, not the care at the school itself. I'm posting this review as I realized I'm not the only parent being affected by disorganized or dishonest admissions at The Brunswick School, so I believe others should be made aware. We toured and enrolled our yet-to-be-born infant in the school last fall for a May 2019 start date. We were told there were no guarantees until 2 months out but that our selected start date "shouldn't be a problem." Foolishly I believed them. I gave birth in December and called again in January to check in: "Yup, we still have her down for May, no guarantees yet but you're fine." Fast-forward to March, I call them up to confirm and this time it's, "Oh, we sent you an email, we're actually full, earliest start date on June." I was upset and stressed, but I was able to push my work start date back to June. I also searched my email and realized they'd never sent me anything. I called again in April--and was told it would be "at least" July. (Still no email or call informing us of this, the only reason I knew was that I called myself.) At this point I enrolled my baby in alternate care, a stressful process for a new parent as so many schools around here fill up so fast. The Brunswick School finally started sending emails and the last one said not until "at least" August! I understand the concept of waitlists but I feel we should have been told last fall to book a backup daycare. I also feel the school should have been proactive in telling people on their waitlist (who have already paid a non refundable fee to be on those waitlists) AS SOON AS they know their desired date isn't available. Most parents have set back-to-work dates and risk losing their jobs if they push them back too far. TL;DR: if you decide on this school be aware they're not honest about start dates and book a backup daycare just in case this happens to you! read more

I would be careful. there are now so many better options in the neighborhood now , I had my child in this school for 4 months and not once did he stop crying. They didn't allow me to enter the classroom after his first week and there lack of transparency really made it difficult to build any relationships with the staff. The owner Ms J was so concerned with the new schools coming into the neighborhood she kept requesting for us to refer our friends. After she raised the tuition $300. Talk about being there for the kids. The building is very outdated and the share use with several business makes this school a high security/safety risk. My family moved recently, and that is the only reason our children no longer attend The Brunswick School. I HIGHLY recommend TBS for a variety of reasons. I am extremely happy with our choice, because we see on a daily basis how our daughter is developing and learning so many new skills. I moved to Jersey city from CA and put my almost 3 year old daughter here. This place is just great. It is reasonable in price compared to a lot other schools I saw and above all the teachers are AMAZING. Miss Charleen teaches my daughters class and she has a lot of experience. In one week my daughter is potty trained and loves being there. She gives you great suggestions and is always working with you towards your goals for your child. my daughter eats a lot more now and is always happy when I go to pick her up. They give you a detailed sheet of what your child did all day, how much she napped, what she ate, what she learned ... EVERYDAY! The place is spanking new and has a lot more space than the other schools I saw. They also provide organic meals prepared on campus. If you are looking for a daycare or a preschool I would recommend this place. Management is also super responsive and friendly. read more

The Brunswick School is a great place for young kids. The Owner and Director are very hands-on, and have a clear vision for the school. The physical facility is so much better than the competition -- plenty of classroom space, natural light, everything clean, private outside space, and convenient stroller & car parking. Also, they have a private chef who creates healthy & imaginative meals (yum yum chicken & veggie dumplings, whole grain flax berry pancakes, veggie-burger sliders, steel cut oats with fruit, etc). Our child struggled with the transition to daycare at first, which is fairly common, but I really felt like the staff members treated him like family and did everything they could to help him acclimate as soon as possible. We have been at The Brunswick School for over a year now - and super happy that we chose this to be our girls' school! My oldest daughter (3) is in Pre-K3, and my younger (1) is in Infant. The most important thing to us is their happiness, and both are excited and happy to go to school everyday. We adore our PreK3 and Infant teachers equally (Ms. Tanisha, Ms. Karina, Ms. Michelle, Ms. Janice). I feel up to date on their progress from speaking with their teachers (even if briefly) at drop off and pick up, as well as their daily reports on their app. Secondly, the girls' safety are our priority. TBS has taken great measures in re-opening the school post-covid quarantine. Temperature checks (multiple times) and health assessment surveys are conducted everyday. We feel the school is safe. Finally, we've met such great friends and families because of TBS - it is a wonderful community. :) I'm so happy we're there! read more

Parents right now are faced with the tough decision of sending our kids to school. It's with heavy hearts that we entrust our kids' safety and education to different providers everyday. However, I send my child to the Brunswick School and I feel at ease that her Safety is their #1 priority. They go above and beyond to meet all CDC requirements implemented pre and post COVID 19 and have been transparent and patient about me asking all my "concerned"parent questions. Their willingness to consistently have an open conversation about all my concerns during this trying time let's me go to work knowing that if at any point I have questions or doubts they won't hesitate to answer them. Needless to say once you visit any one of their campuses, you will be welcomed by their friendly/knowledgeable staff and will be impressed by the clean, bright ,nurturing environment. Brunswick school also has a top notch chef that provides our children nutritious meals. What more can a working parent ask for? Safety, excellent academic curriculum and of course healthy full bellies. The staff and leadership at this school are wonderful, my family had an amazing experience transitioning my son into a daycare setting here. The facility is very modern and suitable for children, I felt very comfortable bringing my son here everyday.
