I recently traveled to Church Stretton on business and was lucky enough to find I had been set up in an inn next door to the Bucks Head. When I arrived at my room at the inn, weary from a long flight from Philadelphia, I realized that I had forgotten my iPhone charger (oh no!). I went into the Bucks Head pub, planning to have dinner, some Guinness, and to ask one of the barkeeps where I could possibly find an iPhone charger at 6 p.m. on a Sunday evening. The bartender, luckily (again) for me, was Sam, a lovely young woman, who out of the goodness of her heart gave me hers to use and said I could keep it. It's comforting to know there are people like Sam out there in the world. I was so grateful for her care and generosity and wanted to tell people out there that the people who work at this pub are absolutely wonderful - friendly, accommodating and engaging. Later on, after Sam's shift, I had the opportunity to speak with her, her boyfriend and some other friends of theirs. Simply wonderful people. I will be visiting this area again, and I will definitely head to the Bucks Head to enjoy some fine company, delightful food, perfectly poured Guinness (among the wide array of other ales they have available at the pub). Thank you again, Sam, if you're by chance reading this. I will always remember your generosity and hospitality and look forward to returning to the Bucks Head!!! read more
