As an avid pub goer, it's somewhat crazy that I never checked out this Pub until now...result: I…read moreshould've checked it out far earlier! First of all, the Dartmoor Inn is what its name hints at - an English pub where you can also play dart in the back yard/room. But that is not why I came here - we were looking for a place to have some burgers, and luckily that is exactly what makes this place so fantastic: the burgers! The staff is pretty cool and relaxed, the location itself is a bit dark and gloomy (exactly what a pub should be like!), and there are books everywhere - and I mean everywhere! We even got to talk to the owner for a while about the bar made almost entirely out of books - it looked fantastic! I needed to know how I could build one like that for my one place! For a bookworm like me this place is heaven. Right next to our table, on the window sill, were books ranging from classics by Goethe to modern fantasy books... But seriously now, the burgers were fantastic! First of all, there are so many burgers to chose from, some classic ones and some more exotic. I tried the "Chicken Run" Burger and it was absolutely delicious! The meat was of great quality, the burger bun could've been a bit less soft, but all in all it just tasted really great! The only less perfect thing were the chips - they were obviously the frozen ones you buy at Metro or Selgros, those could definitely be better! But all in all I was positively surprised how great this place was. I'll definitely be back - to try one of the other burgers (or read)! Bottom line: * bookworm heaven * delicious burgers (and so many to chose from!) * relaxed place and people * Great place to pass some time eating/reading

Under NO circumstances should you go here. Came for a few drinks and realized it was under a…read moredifferent ownership and different bartenders....We ordered a long island iced tea and a couple of beers, which I ordered and I presumed to be Murphy's Stout. However, the beer coming the Murphy's Stout tap was actually Guinness! I should've known because we have been here before and the bartender said that they kind of cheat and put Guinness in the Murphy's labeled tap because not many people drink it. I should have asked but it's really shady doing so. After we ordered a Long Island Iced Tea, . I tasted it.. NASTY! I had watched the pour. Since I've drank Long Island teas for years.I know what is in it. When I saw one pour of well vodka and a majority of coke and seltzer , I became suspicious. I took a sip and yuck! I went to the head bartender (no manager on a Friday night, of course?) she said she was working there for many years. I asked her to make a new drink or refund She told me the drink was fine because she had made it! What? The other bartender corrected her. I asked why she said she had made the drink and she said she was confused. The bar was not busy so why lie? She took a glass and literally threw ice cubes in it. She took threw in a two shots which was not required shots of the drink, She filled more than half to 2/3 the glass with Coca Cola. I confronted her., She said, "this is German, we make drinks the way we like!" She continued, "we serve the lowest clientele and do they don't care." How does one respond to that? It was an expensive drink! She started arguing with me, repeatedly stating "which had more alcohol" and insisted I compare both drinks. Who cares? I wanted a properly mixed Long Island Tea. Darn. I told her I had watched the pour of the Long Island tea and what was in the drink; she said "well? we pre-mix everything. It is watered down but we are not a high class Irish Bar". It was not a good excuse . The drink she gave us was extremely substandard. And she charged me double for the drink because I returned the original drink, plus the other drink.. She said this is Germany. not America, so we do it as we please. When I asked her the recipe, she didn't know . She said it was pre mixed. So Disclose it. She said I don't care. I'm upset and I don't give a sh@$. We asked for a refund. The bartender said "we make it the way we like. If you don't like it. Too bad. What do you expect? It's not America!" No kidding! She said, "This is a low class Irish bar for students who want to get dunk. Watered down or not, they love to drink" . When I asked her why do you serve watered drinks and fake beer,. she said, "just want to make money." . I will never return to this place. I urge no one else to go to this place. Trust me. You'll get screwed. When I told them I would post on yelp, she said " who cares , yelp means nothing".

The bartenders are always great and manage to serve drinks no matter how busy. Only 1 down fall is the bathrooms. There is times when drunks vomit all over the toilet, 1 guy vandalized the bathroom once, causing them to close the male's bathroom and they only have 1 toilette in the females. So in a nutshell, it's so busy that the bathrooms get destroyed, which stinks for the employees that have to pick it all up. No smoking at all inside!! Must stop in place if your visiting though.
