Well that was a really bad experience and a waste of a drive…read more... So we Showed up to the Harveys at 560 fairway drive thru and figured it would be faster and just as easy. ( Not having to watch the staff make sure they've made the food right ) ... Well I was wrong. The youngest kid I've ever seen was at the drive thru. I'm All for kids working, I worked in fast food around his age, but this guy wasn't Even paying attention! Example: We asked for ketchup, he said "sure" and guess what happened when we got home... No ketchup. LoL ( we guessed that was going to happen and didn't check to see if he was actually telling the truth. ) So then we ordered two burgers and we received them and took them home. My burger was completely wrong... Let's see. -I asked for no tomatoes, got 2 of em ! Sweet ! - I asked for lettuce and oops, guess it confused them, and we ended up with no lettuce. - My girlfriends veggie burger was missing hot peppers and lettuce, but had 5 ( yes... five! ) free pickles plastered on top. Called the store and asks for manager. Turns out the manager ( Crissy ) answered and sounded mad I had called. I explained the issue and she started questioning me "Why the staff would just randomly add stuff and take stuff away since its on the receipt she sees too". I explained it wasn't the point "why." We can assume they weren't paying attention at least.... She again starting trying to give excusing and I had to stop her to ask what she would do to resolve the issue ... Not explain it away. Over her humming and ummming, it turns out we win the chance to have the same meals again...later ! Maybe they'll get it right this time ? But the question is... Would YOU want to take the chance and have another wasted experience at this location of harveys ( Near toys R us on fairway ) .... Oh by the way ... Crissy the manager didn't even seem shocked or sorry that this had happened. Not Even a sincere apology. Good luck if you go... I will let you know when we take them up in the offer for this "free meal".....

Last summer, we met up in Cambridge at a local restaurant. I passed by this Fast Eddie's. My head turned. I then talked about it with my friend. She said that I had to visit it. I was too stuffed after lunch to even think about getting dinner from there. I never forgot about it. Recently, I have been enjoying driving over to the Waterloo region. It's nice during this lockdown to drive along highway 401 and not get stuck in traffic. I was at the Cambridge OnRoute rest stop and felt like grabbing a bite to eat. I didn't feel like Burger King. Fast Eddie's came to mind. Yay! I drove over there, which is perhaps a five-minute drive from the rest stop. Double that time if you don't have a lead foot. I was about the turn right to pull into the parking lot, but a car decided to position itself in the middle of what would have been for him to exit and me to enter. Ugh! On a happier note, I drove around the block and spotted a Hakka restaurant. I added yet another bookmark. I finally pulled into the parking lot. You have the option of hitting the walk-up window to place your order (so cool!) or going through the drive-thru. I did the latter. There were perhaps two cars ahead of me. There was a lot to look at on the menu. What should I get? I went with the double burger works. I made it a combo with fries and a Diet Pepsi. I looked at the milkshakes and thought about ordering it, but I wasn't feeling it. Next time! My combo was just under $9. That's pretty good. Debit cards are preferred, although it does accept any tap method. The man at the window opened it halfway and brought out the machine. I paid with my debit card. Easy peasy! Moments later, I got my drink and food. I thanked him. He wasn't friendly. He wasn't mean. It almost felt like he wanted to get through his shift without getting COVID-19. I drove down the street to the parking lot with HomeSense. I had been there last summer and knew that it would be the perfect place to chow down in my car. It was! I normally don't enjoy ordering fries as my side. There are exceptions. I had a single fry and the salt on it felt like it was dancing with my tastebuds. The fries are delicious here. They are crispy and taste so good hot out of the fryer. I had the whole thing and I now crave kicking them up a notch. The place has beef and pickle fries. It also has crazy fries that looks like there's melted cheese and other items, such as bacon. I want the bacon version. Yes, yes, yes! I had my double burger works. I'm so glad that I got it. It had two beef patties that are thinner than I had expected, but the flavour was amazing. I felt like I was eating a salad with protein in a bun. I needed it considering how I had inhaled my fries. The lettuce, onions, pickles, and tomatoes were so fresh. This burger had ketchup and mustard. I normally don't like mustard as a burger condiment, but I ate it all without scraping it off. I am a fan. I am now eyeing the steak cheese burger. I set goals that I know that I can achieve. My Diet Pepsi washed everything down. It wasn't watered down. It was just the way it should be. I will get a milkshake next time. I want the strawberry shortcake wild shake, but double chocolate sounds yummy, too. I do set milkshake goals, too. I will be back. There's so much that I want. Last week, I decided to complete my burger and fries quest by visiting this one, to complete the trifecta. My observation is that the further south I go in Cambridge, the better my experience is at Fast Eddie's. This location is now my favourite one. This eatery is pretty close to downtown Cambridge. I had no problem finding it. It is across the street from a massive plaza. I was in the median lane, waiting for the traffic to clear before making a left turn to get here. I felt so relaxed waiting. Maybe it's just Cambridge's vibe. I pulled into the drive-thru. I got the most pleasant male voice speaking to me. I seem to be ordering something different every time I'm at Fast Eddie's. This visit, I got a double bacon cheese slider as a combo. I went with bacon crazy fries and a Diet Pepsi. I got my total and then headed over to the pickup window. The man was so friendly and energetic. I think the guy at the Fast Eddie's closest to Highway 401 could pick up some tips from this man. I paid using my debit card. The transaction was effortless. He asked me whether I wanted a tray. The fries come in a cup, as does my drink. I said yes, as two of my cup holders in my car were already occupied. My food and drink came. I thanked the man and wished him a good day. I then had something happen to me for the first time. I went to put my tray of fries and a drink down on the passenger floor of my car. The weight was so lopsided that some of my fries landed in the tray. My photo of my bacon fries consisted of my piling the spilled-over fries back into the cup. It looked like I was stacking miniature logs for a fireplace. Anyway, I decided to drive across the street to the plaza and eat in my car. I'm glad that I did because I got to analyze the stores at this plaza as I ate. I have found my burger! The double bacon cheese slider was delicious and screamed my name. It had two beef patties, sauteed onions on the bottom, two slices of cheese, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. It all worked so well together. Between getting raw or sauteed onions, I would sooner have the latter. They are sweeter and yummy. The bacon fries were amazing. The chili sauce on the fries had bits of ground beef. I felt like these fries were over-the-top decadent with crumbled bacon everywhere. The fries were crispy. I loved them so much. I am rarely a fries person, but I do love Fast Eddie's fries. I am still going through every fries variation listed on the menu. I had a great experience, despite my klutzy tray incident. I am looking forward to returning and trying more items off the menu. My next goal might be to order every item off the menu over multiple visits. (75)

The gravy literally makes everything so good (skip the gyro tho). Inside was clean, but obviously it hasn't been updated in years and that's one thing I like about it. It has character.
