This place is a cute and quaint little piece of property in Erieau. With limited options for a…read morestay at this excellent fishing spot, Bayview Bliss is always my first choice. It's run by Marge and her husband. Marge herself is really quite an impressive lady. Makes little cards about her customers to remember information about them, which is a nice touch because she knows you'll come back - and when you do, she'll ask you how your dog's doing after his surgery last year and if you're settling into your new job. The property itself is small, as most fishing resorts are, but it's very well maintained and clean (which is refreshing compared to some of the other fishing cottages i have stayed at around Ontario). As you drive into the property, there is essentially two rows of rentals looking onto the owner's house. Passed the rentals is a large shed and a small shed to clean your fish. Then a nice long dock on which you can actually catch. In terms of rentals, there's three options - cottages, cabins and rustic cabins (in descending order of price). I've stayed in a rustic cabin and in a cottage, and the choice is really dependant on the number of ppl you have in your group. More than two, go with a cottage, two or less, go with a rustic cabin. 3, maybe consider a cabin. If you're going to be cooking, then get a cottage because the rustics only come with the basics - a fridge, an mini electric grill and a coffee maker. If you don't have a boat and need a rental, you can rent one from Marge for a pretty reasonable price. If you are thinking of going, call in and find out if she has space. The place is quite popular with out of towners (a lot of Americans come here for fishing) and make sure you let her know you will need a boat if you do. In terms of fishing, the lake is great. It's got lots of walleye, bass, musky, and some of the largest crappy i've ever seen. In terms of lure, we always seem to have best luck with spinners (silver, white, dark depending on time of day and year) and #5 mepps.

We had a great day of fishing with Captain Jimmy and his first mate, Hunter…read more They ensured we had everything we needed, pointed out the safety equipment, and made the trip easy. After leaving the dock we headed out and no sooner did they drop the lines, the fish were on the bite! By 9:30 we had over a dozen keepers, by 10:30 we had our limit and theirs. Rarely did it take longer than a few minutes to have a fish on. And many times were coordinating reeling in multiple lines without getting tangled. We caught many more than we kept, ensuring the Walleye population sustains itself by releasing the small ones. Both Captain Jimmy and Hunter are experienced and skilled fishermen. Carefully watching the lines, the speed, depth, and direction of the boat while continuously dropping lines and netting fish as we reeled them in. If you are looking for a day of fishing with a great crew, start and stop here!

Without knowing the area, we looked up guided charters and found South of Heaven Guide Services. We are SO glad we went with Captain Frank! My dad and I have both have fished for a long time, but this was my first ever charter and first time on Lake Erie. Captain Frank had so much knowledge of the lake and the fish, and knew exactly what to do to get us some great catches. He taught us a wealth of information, he was patient, kind, and funny, and he made the whole experience exciting! His boat is pristine and his fishing equipment is top notch. We had beautiful weather and could not have asked for a better experience out on the lake. You can tell he's loves what he does and we are so glad he was able to take us out for the day. Thank you so much, Captain Frank. It was great to get to know you and we hope we get to come back soon.

Parking is free, the park itself is beautiful - there were bridges, a mini waterfall, lakes, a playground and a splash pad! Little critters are everywhere - turtles, snails (big ones too!), and lots of squirrels and birds! Waterworks Park seems like the perfect place for a picnic, a mini day trip, or just a place to relax. I can't wait to visit this place again! The drive from London to St. Thomas to go here is definitely worth it.

I've gone to all the different parks in St Thomas and most of them are REALLY NICE, but this one and Pinafore Park are truly great. You want a playground? check. You need a splashpad? check. Want a nice paved path to push a stroller around for a walk? check. You want nice gardens and just nice pleasant landscaping. check. Heck i even heard/saw people fishing in the river that's nearby? I don't even fish and that sounds like a awesome bonus! And i used to do the Pokemon thing and there's a TON of stops and gyms or whatever there so you can literally walk around a beautiful park playing your game or taking a seat on one of the benches, maybe have a coffee with you and chill. It's great... there's bathrooms and change rooms, its never too busy. I have zero bad to say about this place. Bring your kids.... enjoy it, we are lucky to have this.
