If you don't want your entrées coming out with the appetizers, just give them a heads up, because the kitchen moves fast here. We started with the mushroom dish and a hearty soup...both full of flavor and the perfect start to the meal. Then came the star of the night: the lamb chops. Overall cute whole in the wall butcher shop restaurant. They were very nice but the food was okay. Husband for the rib eye and he said it was great. Everything else (chicken, salmon, burger) was overcooked. I would stick to the steaks. Seems like their speciality. The food presentation was great tho! And seems like locals love it. We come up here quite often and wanted to try something different for dinner....off to YELP we went for maps, reviews and new locations... I stumbled upon this restaurant and it had 4.5 stars, so off we went... There is a phrase, don't judge a book by its cover, so as I pulled in the parking lot I looked over at her face and it was strained with worry... the look was we are eating at a gas station... I said don't worry, yelp never steered us wrong, in we went passed a cooler case with various meets and steaks and lamb chops and some great looking custom burgers.... turned the corner to the back room and bam...all windows over looking a beautiful Pasteur and farm land... The service was impeccable, fast and spot on...we ordered the Tzaziki dipping sauce and it was there in less than a second.... for main course was a ribeye and Salad for her, and for me was two skewers of beef cubes with salad and the best mashed potatoes I've had since my girl made them last... Ordered medium rare they ranged in doneness from medium rare to well done. Christina had a spicy stew. That was terrific. Back to appetizers for a second. Cheese stick/ bread. Under seasoned. Greasy. The wife and I decided to head out for dinner. Long day and neither one of us really felt like cooking and cleaning up after. Grabbed the phone and started perusing the usual stuff on Yelp, trying to find something new. Even though it has apparently been in business for 2+ years- you know -it's still the "new place on the corner" to me (I still call it "the country pizza" when giving directions locally, ha ha!) so we settled on the Butcher's Grill based on all of the glowing reviews. I don't think that Wednesday night is a busy restaurant night- we were the only patrons in the place. The decor is a little kitschy but overall very homey and relaxed (mismatched tables and chairs, vividly green Astroturf on the walls of the stairway going to stairs to... uhh... downstairs. Anyway- it was different. The waitress was friendly enough and seated us quickly. She brought water and the first thing that caught my eye was $3.65 for a soda. I asked if there were free refills and she said- no- that's per CAN. Eeek. We drank water. We split an order of fried calamari for an appetizer. Not a huge portion but- strangely- the breadcrumbs were sweet. I mean clearly sweet. Was strange but not awful. For our dinners we ordered a Chicken Schnitzel with mashed and salad for me, and a chicken and mushroom Alfredo for my wife. While we were waiting for our appetizer, we heard an immense banging noise coming from the kitchen. It had to be the chef beating the living hell out of my chicken cutlet! When our dinner arrived I got confirmation from the massive size of the cutlet that it had, in fact, been freshly hammered thin. The mashed potatoes were a bit bland. No gravy or butter on top... just mashed potatoes with very little salt. My wife's pasta was very. (Very very) bland. The tiny little cup of grated cheese on the side was completely inadequate to the task of adding some kind of flavor to the dish. All things being equal- we probably won't go back. We stopped for lunch on NYE at around 2pm. We ordered the soup of the day (cream of vegetable) and burgers. Did not disappoint! I took ALL of my fries home and half of the huge cheeseburger! My only negative comment is the name of the soup! The soup is not creamy and does not just contain vegetables (contrary to the name 'cream of vegetable' soup). However it was absolutely delicious! Great service at the cool little place I just discovered near us. Started with the Calamari with a homemade tarter sauce. Calamari was solid and, although I am not a fan of mayo based sauces (Mayo is the Devil's condiment), this sauce was excellent. We had a Cabernet that they just started serving yesterday ( appears you can only get it by the bottle) which was nice. It paired well with our meals. I got the Ribeye , which was cooked to order. It was super tender and had good flavor. The side of Mashed Potatoes were good. My wife got the Spaghetti Bolonaise, her go to meal when we available. She loved it. Not too sweet and very hearty. I snuck one bite and agreed that it was good. They have a limited dessert menu that only has items with Pistachios in them. The two we got were great! Nice light endings to a good meal. The restaurant is a refreshing destination now with a merging of German, Turkish and Italian flavors. It is now a quaint steak and pasta restaurant. The menu ranges from German sausage to seafood offerings, home made pasta dishes and of course various cuts of meat! The house made baklava is divine, try it with the Turkish coffee. The Labne was subtle and almost tart. Great flavor w warm pita. The mac n cheese was good - I'd likely go mash potatoes next time. The food was meh. Asked the server what kind of cheese was on the burger. She said cheddar it was American. If you don't like American cheese you don't like American cheese. A $50 filet was undercooked, with a large tendon running through it. The cut was distinctly not filet shaped, and the meat shredded which tells me it was either butchered wrong or cooked wrong or just...wrong.
