The bars are very comfortable with a range of different types of seating including bar seats and comfortable chairs with great armrests! The food is very good and this is confirmed by a number of friends who use it regularly. There are a number of different real ales available all of which are carefully looked after. It also has a good selection of wines by the bottle or glass. Service on occasions can be slower than ideal.

Having used the pub on several occasions I can testify to the relaxed feeling including the staff of all who use the place. It offers a wide range of very good real ales at very good prices. The bar itself is open plan with adequate numbers of seats and a large bar window where you can gaze out onto the streets of Malmesbury. It is frequented by a number of local 'drinking' people who appear to keep going back! The restaurant I haven't tried although the menu looks good and is reasonably priced.

When I went in here for a drink with gal pals ..we were starred at and an old man pointed to us saying that he is happy women are allowed in pubs. The people are quaint and you definitely get the feel of the countryside. If you are up for an interesting experience you should visit!

took my wife here for our anniversary, big mistake. the food was very bad. my starter was ok but my…read morewife had the garlic mushrooms, she tried to eat them because she did not want to make a fuss on the night and spoil it, she was very ill that night. the mushrooms were burnt and cooked in oil that was old and foul tasting. then came the main course. my wife had the lamb and mint pudding which was nice but was a boil in the bag job. I had a steak, i took one piece chewed it a couple of times, it too was foul, totally inedible. it must have been cooked in the same oil. they appologised reluctantly insisting the oil was changed that day. They tried to charge for my wifes starter but not my main course, I refused to pay for her starter pointing out that it was not eaten as it was so bad and the fact it spoilt our night and I now had to go and get my dinner elsewhere that they should not be charging us anything. Seriously do not go here to eat, or drink come to that as they only have 2 beers on tap, should have realised then it was not going to be good.

The second time I was with a much bigger group and we played the British (old school) version of bowling. It was good fun. This pub has quiz nights and local band gigs. All very retro. The ambiance is definitely dated, feels very retro/80's. Other than that, people working there were friendly, though not my type of pub so I wouldn't go again.
