The buzz haircuts for men? Maybe unemployed men or men that work the night shift. Good luck trying to walk in after work to get a cut. Hours are horrendous for anyone working during the day. Showing up an hour and a half before they close will get you turned away as they are too concerned with closing up shop at or before their listed closing time. read more

Went in wanting to chop all my hair off and wasn't asked any weird questions or pressured to keep it- totally cool staff and a chill place!

Since it had been 40 plus years since I've had a haircut in my hometown, I relied on yelp to direct me. The shop is in a standalone building kind of in the northwest area of Bay City. While it isn't chic like some if the unisex shops are it does have all of the basics for hair styling. I was a walk in. And although it was busy, I didn't have to wait long (upon entering write your name on a sign up sheet if you didn't make an appointment). My stylist discussed with me what kind of a cut I wanted. After a minute or two she started. It turned out to be a much shorter cut than I usually get, but it is Summer. My stylist was chatty, so time passed quickly. After the cut my hair was shampooed and then a hot towel for the face. It was relaxing. The I proceeded back to her station for the finishing cut. Then cut turned out good. The basic haircut was $11. Just moved to Midland a week ago, and was in SERIOUS need of a haircut and a beard trim. Was googling around, and didn't find too much. A coworker suggested I take a ride to Bay City to check out Buzz Haircuts. Great suggestion! Can make appointments, though walk-ins fine. Sarah gave me a fantastic haircut and beard trim. She took her time, made sure I was happy with everything, and even went back over it to trim down the beard more when she was finished, because I wanted it a little shorter. After the cut, you get a complementary hair wash and warm towel on your face in a massage chair. FANTASTIC experience. I will definitely be back. read more

Not bad of a cut. Some of the girls will cut ya differently so at times it's inconsistent. Wash and towel are relaxing.

Stoped in for a hair cut, it was VERY busy. I had a limited amount of time so I asked how long was the wait. 20 minutes, perfect! 45 minutes later still waiting! I never did get my hair cut. I walked out. If it's a 45+ min wait be honest and say that, don't lie to me and say 20 just so I won't leave immediately. Can't do business with a less than honest place. I generally do not write reviews and especially a bad review but...Just went to buzz haircuts and everything was going well until a boy of 4 or 5 was up to get a cut. I am not opposed to corporal punishment and I do not believe in allowing a tantrum to be rewarded, but in this case it would have been best for the owner and stylist to recommend the parent come back another day. The father physically restrained the boy with the exception of his head which was thrashing from side to side as the hair stylist attempted to run the clippers over his hair. Not very effective and definitely traumatic to the child. As a parent of a child who has been traumatized by abuse, it was hard for me to listen to the screaming. I finally got up, recommended to the hairdresser that they pause and try again another time. As an explanation, the manager, owner or other stylist explained that the child has come in many times is sometimes ok, sometimes out of control. If that is true, the correct action in my mind would have been to say "Not going to work today, lets try again next time when he is better able to handle the haircut." The other explanation given is that sometimes a child just needs a haircut and it is hard. I can not for the life of me figure out what medically necessary reason there was to justify the action. The worst part was the "smile/smirk" on the fathers face as he held his son. I assume the smile on the stylist's face was a front as she did not know what to do. I also am not judgmental of parents when kids throw a tantrum. I have seen it in church, restaurants, stores etc and I have always tried to offer encouragement to the parent as we have all been through it, but this was beyond the pale. I even said something to Katie (cut my hair) that sometimes it is tough when a kid throws a tantrum. But after 5-10 minutes of screaming, physical restraint, head thrashing... someone should have said enough. I did, but I did not force the issue. Maybe I should have done more, I am not sure what though. Better judgement could have been used in this situation, especially in light of the comment "sometimes ok, sometimes not".. On the good side, Katie gave me a great haircut and got a 50% tip regardless of the actions of others in the shop. Too bad I will not be going back. read more
