For two people, we ordered the 3 pounds of the seafood combo with snow crab legs, clams, and crawfish in the Boom Bang Sauce and 2 loafs of the bread. The sauce: we choose was the Boom Bang sauce in mild. The girl said that the mild already had a decent amount of spice, so we decided to go with that. And she wasn't kidding. If you can't handle spice, go for the next level down. So much garlic deliciousness! It was so good I kept dunking my French bread in there! The seafood: The shells on the snow crab legs weren't mushy or soft, which means that the crab legs weren't over cooked or frozen for too long. The clams were HUGE. None of the just shells bullshit. Alright, now, my first stop in Seattle was this place. My friend put me on to it and now that I'm back home, I'm thinking about how good it was. It's a local hole in the wall spot and while the decor isn't all that, it means the food will most likely be bomb. And that it was. I had the mixed special, about $16 a pound, and shared three pounds with two others. We got shrimp and crab legs with their boom bang/house sauce, which was a mix of Cajun, lemon pepper and garlic--so, so so good. They have a number of different wines available for purchase, too, for about $5-not so bad. Garlic fries are actually fries with garlic powder on them. While it was disappointing, it was eatable. The Cajun fries are a better option if you want some spice in yo' life. They also provide gloves if you don't want to walk out with garlicky hands. After having Boiling Crab (BC) a few times, I was skeptical that this place would match up to my high expectations. However, I would say it's a great option and would recommend this Seafood combo with shrimp, clams and crawfish and the whole boom bam sauce (~$28) - 4/5. Overall this was definitely very tasty. The crawfish were fresh, the shrimps huge and the clams plentiful. Typically, I'd only order shrimp, but I just had to get my crawfish craving. The differences are that the sauce here is much thicker than BC, but there's also a lot less. However, they are both equally flavorful. Food here is fantastic! My go-to is their gulf shrimp with their 3-star whole boom bang sauce (be careful with the stars as it's very spicy). In addition, I like to order corn, French bread, and Cajun fries. Be sure to ask for a bunch of limes and Cajun seasoning to mix together into a container and use as dipping sauce. I do not eat seafood but this is based on the 3 other people who ate it. The portion was huge, came quick, and was very flavorful. 1.5 lbs of Dungeness crab, 1 lb of snow crab, and 1 lb of shrimp filled everyone more than needed. The garlic butter with the lil spice was the perfect level and delicious. Bibs and gloves were provided. A loaf of bread to dip into the sauce was great. The seafood seemed to be good quality. Not the best anyone ever had but still tasty. In the end, the value is what makes this place worth it. It was a huge amount of seafood for a surprisingly low price. The service was just ok. IDK who would give this spot a bad review. Ya- the parking is awful and the spot is hard to find in a packed 2 story Asian strip mall, but those are signs of an authentic food experience. Of course if you are used to NOLA or similar cities with amazing Cajun food any place in Seattle is not likely to compete. The service was great although we took the food to go; the employees were helpful with our many questions. We ordered the seafood combo with two dungeoness crabs. It was unfortunate that they didn't have limited amount of crawfish, so we couldn't order to go. You'd think for a restaurant with the name crawfish, they'd have more then enough. If you were a sit down customer you can eat the crawfish. We still ordered more than $200 worth and it was worth it. The seasoning was well done. I brought some to another family members house, they loved it and went back for more. It's a little pricey, so honestly I'd go when they have crawfish available. Cajun has always been my favorite place for Crawfish in all of Seattle! (And trust me, I've tried them all.) I've been going here for many years and they never disappoint! Even on their busiest days, they are very quick and efficient. Whenever we come, we always get the mix-it combo; this gives you a variety of seafood all in a bag. This is a MINIMUM of two pounds and you can choose three items between crawfish, snow crab legs, gulf shrimp, clams, or mussels. I usually like to double up on the shrimp along with another seafood item, get it drowned in the whole boom bang sauce and two stars for spice which is perfect for me! I loveeee how garlic-y the whole boom bang sauce is and literally add it on everything! I dip every piece of seafood in the sauce, sometimes I even get a side of white rice just to eat with the sauce, I just want to drink this sauce! (Of course it pays off later when you leave the restaurant smelling so strongly of garlic though haha). As far as appetizers, you really can't go wrong with anything. This is my regular go-to place. Good service and yummy cajun styled food. Based on my last couple of visits, I would recommend not to order dungeness crabs, they are definitely not fresh. I went last week, and the crab came without the shell on it and the meat was dry. I used to love the dungeness crabs here because the shell had a yummy crab fat inside. It was the first time, the crab was served with no shell on, but again the crabs were not fresh the last couple of times I ordered, so now noted to myself not to order dungeness crab here. The freshest seafood! And it's in an area that I wouldn't really expect it be...which makes it all the better a find! Prices are pretty average for seafood...I got the mixed/combo bag where you can choose three options (from snow crab, crayfish, mussels, clams and shrimp) for $13.99 per pound. The minimum order is two pounds so you're already paying almost $30 for the dish. The good news is you can share, so bring those friends! Sauces: holy cow, the cajun sauce even though you can order it on a scale of hotness from 1-5 was very spicy! Beware, a 3= a 5...The smaller items tend to sit and marinate in the sauce at the bottom of the bag, too so they can get very spicy very fast. I've also tried the garlic butter..considerably less of an attack on the mouth and very flavorful. This might be my favorite. However, I have yet to try the sauce where they throw all the options into one. Sounds like it could be really good or...a disaster. We'll have to see! My friend and I were incredibly hungry when we were there (can you tell?) so we also got a dozen oysters. I was pleasantly surprised to find they were not too salty nor did they taste like the beach. I'm from San Francisco and we have similar restaurants here like Boiling Crab in San Jose and Crawstation in San Francisco. I was in Seattle recently and I was told by a friend to avoid this place. We ordered our food and I was expecting bibs because we're going to get messy, but unfortunately they didn't have any bibs. We ordered the Louisiana Crawfish with Boom Boom Bang sauce mild variation and Mussels in Boom Boom Bang with sausages. The first bite into the food and all I could taste is garlic. Way too much garlic and I love garlic! I'm use to Boiling Crab or Crawstations sauces which have varying depths of deep flavor. This food straight up tasted like garlic. Many thoughts were going through my head, what I did I do to deserve to pay money for food like this. As we took bite after bite, I thought about situations where I might of done something to deserve to be subjected to eat cloves of garlic one at a time. I asked our waitress for a bowl of rice to make the food more edible. She stated that they ran out of rice. I didn't make a big deal about it, but how does an Asian restaurant run out of rice?! My friend strongly recommended The Cajun Crawfish so we all hopped in a car and headed there straight after work. My friend had nothing but good things to say so we were all excited. By the time we arrived it was 8PM. They would be closing at 9 and their kitchen is set to close 30 minutes prior to the time they close. Working in a place where we all hope to get out on time, we were already making plans to head in, make nothing more than one order and head out. The minute we walked in we were "greeted" with a "Sorry, our kitchen is closed," by someone I can only assume was a waitress. My friend referred to the sign on the front that says "kitchen will close 30 minutes before closing." The waitress responded with something along the lines of "we're out of crawfish," and made a comment about that's why their sign is off. Ok... So, there's no shrimp? Oysters? Lobsters? If you're not going to honor your signage, what your website says, or your scheduled hours, what's the point? Don't subject people who are looking to recommend and support your business with cattiness. That's not how it should be. I always try to have something positive to say but this experience was by far one of the worst I've ever had. My latest food obsession has been crawfish. Not just any crawfish, steamed ones smothered in garlic butter. Mm.. So knowing that places like these has been opening up around the area makes me just want to try them all! I have heard mixed reviews about their crawfish and was told to try out their dungeness crab also since the other places I've gone to doesn't really serve it. The place itself is kinda small compared to others and when walking in you can smell the heavily smell of garlic. The first thing we noticed was a big wheel (like at the fairs) where you can spin to win something but found out that's only on Tuesdays. We right away knew what we wanted and ordered: - 2lbs of garlic butter crawfish - 1 1/2lbs of dungeness crab (with same garlic butter sauce) Our crawfish came out in a thick plastic bag filled with the sauce and along with a couple pieces of sausage, corn, and potatoes.. I would say we got like two pieces of each which was kinda disappointing compared to others that gave a little bit more. Oh wells.. The dungeness crab came out on a big plate filled with sauce and it smelled really good. But the taste was bland and watery like they had overcooked. It was a big disappointment. So overall the crawfish was yummy but I prefer Casian Grill way more. If you are choosing between clams and mussels, get the mussels) - Crawfish (ironically, this is the least interesting to me considering the restaurant namesake) - Clams (pretty good, but a lot of them fell out of their shells so some got lost in the goop of a sauce) Sauce Advice: Whole Boom Bang Sauce at Level 3 has just the right amount of spice without overwhelming the seafood taste (and I am someone who enjoys spice so YMMV). However, you get the bag of seafood piping hot so BE CAREFUL and/or wait a few moments for your food to cool before cracking/diving in. Reservation advice: they don't take reservations for under 6 people and they automatically add 18% to the bill if your party is 8 or more. They also add a $0.50 per extra card charge if you're splitting the bill--splitting ONE bill, as they cannot provide separate checks--which is why I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5. I was looking for one more thing, since I told her I don't have cash, and $10 min for cards; I think she said something like don't worry about, it's close to 10. Shortly, my eyes fell on the French Bread - a soft, warm, glistening ~10 in long roll. All was great, although I'd go easy on the garlic butter (mysterious congealed pieces in it, butter?). Also mentioned I had eyes on the Cajun Fries, but she said they come with the Basket. Oh ok. Only, my fries were of the regular variety and no Cajun to speak of.
