Had a reservation on Easter. Through their booking online. For a birthday. I showed up 5 minutes prior like I was told. Place wasn't open. All the chairs were up no lights on. I called an hour later and somebody answered and said they were open and only taking reservations and they did nothing about my reservation and couldn't reschedule me or anything. Terrible service. We had the BEST time for our girls night. My sister & I took our daughters (twin 16 yr olds & a 12 yr old) for a night we could all enjoy. It far exceeded our expectations! ROUGH START BUT ULTIMATELY A GREAT EXPERIENCE -- We made a reservation for 12:30 PM for Mother's Day. When we arrived, we were told by an employee that we would not be able to be seated and to wait. After 30 minutes we decided to get up and start trying the smells and we were brought clipboards to get started. I sat at the bar and ordered a drink while my parents stood waiting for another 15mins. At that point we had not been seated, it's been 45 mins, and I still didn't even receive my drink. It seemed that the staff was overwhelmed and possibly new. I decided to cancel my drink, and when I did the owner promptly had all the available tables cleared and made sure we were sat as soon as possible. The owner personally apologized and explained the issues that had encountered with the reservation system. She compensated us for all of our drinks and gave us a discount on the candles. She checked on us many times and completely turned our experience around. The drinks were great and they even highlighted their stock of local sodas which were delicious! There appears to be some training needed for the new staff, but everyone was working hard and doing a great job. We look forward to going returning in the future!! read more

What an amazing idea for a space. It was truly an adult crafting wonderland. The staff was super nice and knowledgeable about the whole process and helped me craft a perfectly unique candle. I picked 3 scents and named my creation Melange a Trois; yep, I'm that cool. The candles were reasonably priced for the whole experience--ranging from $26 - $40. Most gift shops charge that much for a premade candle. They use soy wax and cotton wicks. The ambiance is so relaxing and the non alcoholic drink selection is wide! What an absolutely lovely spot! The Candle Studio is a new candle bar (and not a chain) located inside the newer Pinecrest development. It's an upscale location to create your own candles or shop their pre-made calendars and other inventory. Truly, you can assemble a beautiful gift here in a pinch. If you choose to make something at the Candle Bar, it has three simple steps: pour, mix, create. I didn't have time to create my own candle, but I would absolutely come back here with friends to create something. They offer a small bar so you can actually order a drink and create! I shopped the pre-made scents and found them all to smell delicious. I was impressed with the clean, modern vibe of the entire store and the intergenerational groups of people around me. As I was checking out, I noticed their custom sample candles on the tables. You can create your own candle for an above average wedding party favor! I thought this was brilliant. Pick your scents, pick your candle holder or choose to make a wax melt. Create the concentration of your candles scents, pour into wax & let set, create a custom label for your candle! Super easy and fun. They also have alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. The candle do need to set up to 3 hours prior to being pickup up. So if you're not from the area or on a time crunch plan accordingly. This store is located in Pinecreast. Their are many different shops and restaurant. I've never been to a candle studio before, but I was thoroughly impressed with the set-up, service, and process at Candle Studio. There's a wide array of candles that you can smell to get an idea of what scents you'd like to mix. After choosing the scents that you like, you can pick out a candle holder, and then head to the bar where they help you mix the scents. Figuring out the right balance of the different scents was intimidating, but the staff was able to provide helpful tips and pointers. It takes about 90 minutes for the candle to "set." Since it's in Pinecrest, my friend and I had no problem filling that time with ice cream, boutiques, and exploring the area (there's a Shake Shack and an REI!). If you're still out in Pinecrest when it's finished they'll bring it to you and you can also pick it up the next day if you have somewhere else to be. The finished products smelled great! Also, they serve wine and other beverages, so that's a definitely a plus. I'll definitely be back! P.S. I wanted to add, that I lit my candle for the first time the day after I wrote this review. It's so cool and a little heart warming to sit back, reflect, and admire a candle that I had a hand in creating. I guess they weren't kidding with the whole #scentedmemories theme :) read more

This is a great concept if you are looking for something fun and different to do. The store does not sell pre-made candles, you make your own on site with a candle making expert. You are first directed to a wall that has about a hundred different scents and you are instructed to pick three that you mix together to make your own personal scent. This was not really explained to us very well up front so if you are not clear on how this will work - ask them for more instruction. Once we figured out what we were doing we made our own scents under the direction of our expert and a few drinks. The candles are then hand poured in front of you into your choice of holder and once they are set, you are free to take it home. I can't see myself doing this very often but it is something everyone should try once of you have even a little bit of curiosity as to how candles are made. read more

Came here to make candles with my sisters/family friend--The experience was very fun I must say--they have you smell scents to get an idea what you want to put in your candle--As well as the actual candle itself. I went to The Candle Studio on a Saturday afternoon to make a new homemade candle with my gal pal. We walked right in and grabbed a clipboard. There are 3 basic steps to do so: list your favorite scents from their scent wall, pick a "candle" base, and meet at the pour bar. Step 1: Sniffing the scents is a lot of work. You can list as many as you want. I started my sheet with 10 different scents. I knew that I wanted a crisp, light floral scent. I narrowed it down to Green Tea, Yuzu, and Jasmine. Step 2: In picking your "candle base," there is a wall of various shapes and sizes of containers to use. They range for $17-$32. I selected a rose gold glass. Step 3: We both have made candles before, so we needed minimal assistance after receiving our candle fragrance oils. In creating our candle, you pour the perfect mixture of your trio of fragrance oils into a thimble. Once you fill the thimble to the top, you pour it into your boiling wax to stir it around. You can wait for your candle or pick it up shortly after a hour or so to harden. We had so much fun sitting and gabbing. You can also enjoy in the many wines and beers they offer too! The Candle Studio is a wonderful activity to do for date night, a bachelorette party, or a day with your loved ones! Went to the Candle Studio for the first time last week with a medium sized group. We were quickly approached and given free rein throughout the store. They have an entire wall dedicated to scents that you can choose from for your own candle. The smells ranged significantly. There really was a smell for every person. Man or women, you could find at least one appealing scent. Seriously, they even had scents that I didn't know smelled like ginger ale. You could literally smell the carbonation, it was amazing. The staff was very attentive in assisting us with creating our very own candle. As far as "experiences go" making a smaller candle cost around $19.00, which I thought was very fair. These are not dinky tea-light candles they are far more substantial in size. You can purchase a larger or more elaborate container for more if you want to. I was able to pick up my finished candle in around 90 minutes and found that it came finished in a lovely gift bag. read more

I can't say enough good things about my experience here! I came here for a girls day out with my friend who was in from out of town. Candles and wine are two of her favorite things, so I figured this was the perfect place for an outing. We both made candles in the owl ceramic container and they turned out perfect. I got the sangria wine and really enjoyed it! I have been to The Candle Labs in Columbus and this very similar. You are greeted when you walk in and made to feel right at home. Love checking out all the scents, picking out your vessel to match your decor, mixing your own creation, and seeing your candle come together. Enjoy a glass of wine or brew while making your candle. While there, Steve and Nick said that the candle decorations on the tables were made in a 'special evening' they had hosted where you made the candle holder decoration to hold the candle you made. They were beautiful. He also had a Christmas tree decoration class. He mentioned they are getting their 2919 schedule put together and they sounded great. There are lots of places to eat and roam around while waiting for your candle to set and be ready to take home. It's a great afternoon adventure. I waited a couple days before lighting mine, and it is awesome. I will go back. I follow them on Facebook now and there are some great special nights coming up. Really disappointed with The Candle Studio this time. We had a group of 4 for our grandmas 80th birthday. We attended in October so mask policies still in place. We were sat at a reserved table, and there were 2 girls working. The entire "bar" area was full with other guests - surprised since a reservation was required & Covid (when I've gone previously it was never this busy). I don't know if it's because our table was further away than the bar, but the staff members gave us close to zero attention. All the scents against the wall are now just jars with the oils in it instead of candles, which would be fine but they were stacked on top of each other and with 2 other GIANT groups during our time, made it very difficult to get in and smell them. Definitely not maintaining 6', and with "smelling" the candles masks were obviously down. Took foreverrrrr to get the oils brought to our table, just to then be told many of our scents we wanted only had one bottle of oil and that the other larger groups were already using them. We were there honestly forever. The other groups were clearly celebrating something (maybe a bridal shower/ bachelorette) and the staff was happy to wish them well and make their day special, but didn't even say happy birthday to our grandma, when I did indicate it was a special event on our reservation. Overall really let down. 2 of us had gone before and the other 2 were new, and unfortunately none of us want to go back at this point. read more
