Thompson Suite patio with plunge pool plus large
    Win L.

First visit to this Thompson and we enjoyed our 3 night stay but was surprised by the fairly high prices for Mexico for food and the hotel room taxes/service charges that added up to nearly doubled the room rate! The positives: The food and service were particularly good; they have a Michelin rated restaurant, Manta, on site, which has a 5 course tasting menu I recommend trying. We actually tried every food option (rooftop bar for dinner, pool bar for apps, Sunken Living Room for breakfast/dinner, The Ledge for breakfast/dinner, Manta for dinner) and found them all to be distinct in their own right but uniformly quite good. Most memorable items were the tofu salad at the Rooftop bar, the rice chips at Manta and the tempura fish tacos. Prices are pretty expensive, similar to CA Bay Area pricing. There are 2 pools and the beach immediately in front of the hotel was very nice (lots of surfers!). Some rooms also included plunge pools! The negative: the only issue we had was the constant loud music - from the pool bar during the day and from the rooftop bar at night. I wore earplugs the entire trip to dull the high decibels. The loudness seemed unnecessary to create fun atmosphere as it was deafening. Nevertheless, we would stay again if we are in the area. Though I strongly prefer the Costa Palmas area of Cabo more. Tip: Thompson is part of World of Hyatt; Globalists receive daily free breakfast that runs to 11:30am, which helped reduced food costs somewhat.

The Cape offers a magical experience. It encapsulates everything you might want in a Cabo holiday. From waves and a pool to great restaurants and an uncomplicated experience. About 45 minutes from the airport, it's at the edge of resort row. It's close to the busy shopping district, while also offering a peaceful setting. Do not recommend for children or those seeking a sandy beach experience. See website for more details.

***Great Amenities, Mediocre Food. No complimentary coffee*** The Cape is beautiful hotel with amazing views, attentive staff & cozy rooms. The Currents Spa amenities & massage are one of the best we've had. Highly recommend. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing for the quality & cost of this hotel. Food: Room service caters food from Sunken Bar & Manta. - Sunken Bar food is ok - nothing to write about. - Manta was the biggest disappointment of the trip. We had high expectations given its reputation & Michelin Star. However, It's overpriced & overhyped for the food that they serve. And I got food poisoning from either their tuna or ceviche. -the Ledge - nice presentation for the worst food at the hotel. Their marinated chicken was inedible due to the very strong wine smell, flavor & alcoholic afterburn. - Point Break - best food at the resort but it's more bar type food. Great view Friendly Suggestions: on the way from the airport, stop by Fresko Grocery Store & pick up some amenities. Especially coffee. There is no complimentary coffee in room or lobby. All snacks or drinks provided in minibar will cost you. Instead of eating at the hotel restaurants, take an uber to downtown Cabo & eat at Mother Flower. Amazing tacos

Our stay at The Cape was nothing short of exceptional. We went for my boyfriend's birthday and it was the best decision we made. Every staff member was very attentive - EVERY SINGLE ONE. They all make you feel like your stay is very special. We stayed at The Cape for 4 days and didn't leave once. On one of the days we signed up for a cooking class and it was so worth it. We were with the chefs Isabella and Alfonso. They were very patient teaching us and we had a phenomenal time. It was very personal and the food was just amazing. I would definitely recommend taking a class here if you have time! We also had great service at the pool - Fernanda and Hugo were very attentive and provided amazing service for us to relax. Finally, our servers Francisco and Sandra were amazing as well! They kept checking in on us and made sure our drinks were never empty and that all our food was excellent. We would definitely stay here again!

Exceptional service, exceptional views, and breathtaking amenities. The entire stay was a memorable experience with all of the staff being 100% accommodating to any request that was made! I absolutely would stay at this amazing resort again the pool, the rooms the seating areas out by the multiple pools, everything was so well kept and maintained it was extremely enjoyable and the ocean side restaurants are just a unique experience!

I'm settling on 4 stars for the Cape Hotel; TL/DR, fantastic luxury property that you can get on points, great location, love the Beach and pool, good food offerings, room may not be the one in the pictures due to the Residences building(s), and you are likely to experience a super loud wedding that will take over the evening of your weekend stay. We booked four nights at the Cape using Hyatt points and were very excited for our first trip to Cabo. The hotel was fairly easy to get to from the airport; we rented a car but they will provide a shuttle for a fee. Check in was overall great, small wait but the lobby is an incredible site to see that makes any delay go by quickly. They attempted to upgrade our room but couldn't due to the nature of our booking. We were in the 16/17 tower area, which had a limited ocean view and a style that was more mellow, not like the photos with the copper bathtubs that are all over the internet. I was debating whether to ask for a room change the whole trip, ultimately deciding that it was close enough (but it was a bit of a let down). They also gave us a welcome gift (Tequila) and even switched it out for fancy coconut water when they found out that we didn't drink much! The room itself was comfortable - big bathroom, big shower, toiletries, comfy bed, daybed on the balcony - we were quite happy with it, although it felt a little Spartan and manly in its décor. The property is pretty amazing - we loved the pool and the beach, service throughout was great. The hotel definitely leans "clubby" with loud music and a DJ at the rooftop restaurant on Thursdays, as well as most afternoons at the pool. We ate at most of the restaurants, many of which have secret vegan menus you can ask for. The rooftop was great on the first night, and we did the Sunday brunch, ultimately opting for ala carte as it was very expensive with mostly meat and seafood options (not good VFM as vegetarians). The view of El Arco is excellent, and though a little outside of town, it's between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo which we liked. Lots of food options ~10 minutes away too, like El Huerto and Metate. Biggest issue - on both Saturday and Sunday nights of our stay, they hosted huge weddings that spilled through the hotel's common spaces and dominated the main building rooftop during the evening. They BLASTED music until at least 1 AM both nights from the rooftop that must have disturbed every single room in the hotel. We had to sleep with our noise canceling headphones on. I feel extra sorry for folks who had rooms on high floors of the main building - must have been awful. When we complained at checkout they comp'ed us $200 total which did help, but still, it was tough! We'd go back but probably for a midweek stay versus a (holiday) weekend where there will probably be weddings. 5/5 if not for that element!

We went for our friends wedding and it was FANTASTIC! The hotel was clean, food was delicious, and the staff was extremely friendly. My husband and I travel a lot and we were very impressed. Would definitely stay here again. And they put on a fantastic wedding! And their dj at the pool was awesome he even shredded an electric guitar!

My wife and I stayed at the Cape hotel and had our wedding on the property, and it was the one of the best experiences of our lives! This hotel is perfectly situated in Los Cabos and has all of the amenities you could ever ask for. We had 1 bedroom villa which was spacious and beautiful. We had our welcome party by the pool area where they set up an open bar with DJ, our ceremony on the upper terrace, and our reception on the rooftop. The food, drinks, and music are all excellent here but the best part about this hotel is the world class SERVICE they provide you. All of the hotel employees (front desk, restaurants, pool area, bar) will greet you with a smiling face and make sure to take care of all of your needs. This hotel is the perfect place to have a wedding and we are so happy we came here for our destination wedding. We absolutely will be coming back here in the future!

Pros: The view was spectacular as well as some of the complimentary items. Some of the staff like Hugo & Fernanda (I hope I got their names right) really went above and beyond to make you feel great. The food I believe was fantastic and very fresh. The breakfast buffet had a chokehold on me. I really enjoyed my stay here but it all came with a price. Cons : The attention to detail was great. However the moment you stop tipping is when you kind of notice some peoples attitude change. Which is kind of a let down because there is a service charge for everything you get, don't need to tip. I really do encourage people to try this place out but just don't let someone's attitude discourage you from enjoying what you spent money on.

We stayed here back in early Fall '22 as our first trip to Cabo (and Mexico!) and really enjoyed staying in the Thompson suite for a 3 nights. First off, the suite was very spacious as it's over 1K sqft and comes with a private balcony with an ocean view. We found this wonderful to watch the sunset from on our first night before heading out to dinner. The bathroom does open out to the bedroom, but there is a curtain that can be drawn across. There's also 2 separate wash closets, which we found useful when our friend stopped by to join us at the pool. Although I preferred using the shower stall, the soaking tub looked pretty stylish in the center of the bathroom. The room also comes with a Nespresso machine and pods that were refilled daily. As for amenities, the main pool itself wasn't huge, but we found it a good size and deep enough for us to swim around a bit. I may have also brought a floatie, because why not? We also used the cabanas in the late afternoon since they were empty after most of the people left. The lobby and lounge were huge and had a wonderful view as they opened out to the sea, however the evening DJ music was a bit loud. There were weddings every single night, so unfortunately the rooftop wasn't available until the late evening. Globalist benefits were recognized and the employees were very welcoming. They also remember your name, which we found a nice touch. Wonderful location away from solicitors so you'll get a nice private view of the ocean (not swimmable) or some adventurous surfers in the early morning!

We come here for surf at the monument then have a lunch. They have an incredible view, I love the vibe, great sushi and the best French toast! I haven't checked out the sunset from the rooftop yet, soon I will, it's looked so beautiful on my friend who stayed here's video.. The best hotel in Cabo!

Gorgeous hotel!!!! Also Manta 10/10!!! Such amazing and friendly staff. Get the ahi sashimi and the mochi corn ice cream (sounds weird but I swear it's so good)!!! Views were great. I ran into the hotel lobby store to get a candle really quick and when I got back from my trip and scratched off the price tag to give to a friend I realized the regular price tag was underneath and it was actually $23 cheaper from the actual seller. Good to know, and great reminder if you want to buy it at its normal price and not at an increased hotel price, check the actual seller's website!!!!

Yes it is quite pricey but for once, the price is justified by the impeccable customer service, room quality, and maintenance of this resort. It is the perfect blend of modern and elegance and screams luxury without trying too hard. It's close to the marina as well so easy access to other restaurants, shopping, and tours. We stayed at a 3 bedroom villa and the week flew by. The rooms were spacious, well kept, clean, and stocked with everything you need. We had our own private plunge pool to soak in whenever we wanted to. You are greeted upon arrival with a welcome drink and they gifted the kids an adorable sugar turtle cookie when we departed! They offer sample drinks and popsicles at the pools. Their attention to detail is flawless and everything is well thought out. The resort has an adults only pool, a family infinity pool overlooking the ocean, and another shallow kids pool. Plenty of lounge chairs and was never too busy. The food was fantastic from the poolside kitchen to the on site property restaurants to the private chefs. Honestly some of the best food I've had in my life. The spa is world class and I highly recommend it. We had some of the best nail service, massages, and facials ever. Everyone is well trained and very skilled and experienced in their area of expertise. They have complimentary golf carts that take you anywhere on the property and we never had to wait for one. Everyone is so friendly, inviting, and professional. I truly appreciated everyone's hospitality and warmth. The best part was our private butler who cooked our meals, arranged all activities and transportation off the property, did laundry, and even found our missing shoes that flew across the resort! lol. We had several dinners at the Sotol restaurant off the lobby. Their menu includes tacos, steak quesadillas, and pasta dishes. Bartender/server Jesus provided great friendly service and made us feel cared for each night when we stopped by for after dinner drinks. Talavera restaurant is where the huge breakfast buffet was each morning, offering a very affordable continental breakfast, or a full breakfast. We found the continental offered more than enough options to satisfy us with lots of great choices including oatmeal with an array of toppings, granola and other cereals, about 20 different types of pastries/breads each day, and a fresh fruit bar. The full breakfast also offered meats, cheeses, custom made breakfast tacos, breakfast cocktails, and a smoothie bar. There's also Los Arcos Roasting Company coffee shop off the lobby, and Starbucks coffee and ice cream available in the Dulce shop near the family pool. This Hilton also has a doctor onsite 24 hours a day. This was a relief to us as one member of our family had an ear ache. Indoor-outdoor seating combines for a rustic, stylish , refreshing atmosphere after a day on the beach or poolside. Aside from this dining option, I highly recommend Vela for a romantic evening near the pool, enjoying Italian-influenced seafood, pastas, and meats paired with some eclectic Mexican wines that thrill one's palate. The morning breakfast buffet is quite enjoyable as well, offering Western and Mexican options along with fresh fruits, vegetables, breads, and juices, providing the perfect beginning to a sunny tropical day. Last but not least among the property's treasures are the expansive rooms overlooking the ocean, the numerous shops, and the amazing indoor/outdoor gym with state-of-the-art equipment. Some of the less attractive things about the hotel are the weak, expensive cocktails served poolside, beachside, and everywhere, with prices consistent across all venues and flavors and alcohol content very watered down. Talavera Bar is the only difference. Another notable matter is the 15% service charge on everything! And you find yourself tipping on top of the service charge! As a Diamond member, I receive a complimentary breakfast for two each day, but I was billed $12 service charge and a tip each morning. I would still recommend this hotel as a vacation destination for its beauty, tranquility, and comfortable suites.

Grand Velas Los Cabos - Grab a cup of coffee in the lobby and sit back and enjoy. I always added some Bailey's to the coffee to start the morning off right! Cheers!

Based upon a YouTuber's advice, I decided to plan a trip to the Grand Velas Los Cabos Boutique resort. Michelin starred restaurant included in the all-inclusive resort? Check! Beautiful and spectacular landscapes? Check! Impeccable service? Check! Wonderful food and beverages? Check! You need to catch whatever ride you can get to this resort. My best friend and I found out that August isn't necessarily the best time of the year to visit Cabo San Lucas, but the landscape still spectacular. And with regards to the quality of the food and beverages, I can't say enough about how high of a quality everything was. Sometimes, all-inclusive resorts don't necessarily serve high quality food in every onsite restaurant. You don't have to worry about the Velas Boutique hotel. As my sister Luch would say, everything was beyond stat! I don't know how to express just how wonderful this resort was. And the "Boutique" is the "Adults Only" part of the Grand Velas complex. The regular Grand Velas Los Cabos is a haven for families with everything that a kid could imagine. Picture yourself on a balcony with the ocean in front of you while you sit in your personal hot tub. Then imagine yourself sipping your favorite beverage while the sun rises and sets. Are you there with me? If not, close your eyes and picture it. Yeah, there you go... And if you're looking for a comparison, I've stayed at the St.Regis in Miami and you can't beat this place for the price. Ask for Victor R and Fernanda M for exceptional service!

There are 2 hotels - Grand Velas (family-oriented) and Grand Velas Boutique (adults only). We stayed in the Grand Velas since most of the restaurants are located in the main hotel. From the vacation experience agent, Leonila, to our guest experience agent Thamara, to our personal concierge, Tony, this journey was destined for success. We enjoyed working with each person, even prior to our arrival. The car service arranged through the hotel was smooth except for the outer-bands, post-hurricane sudden downpour at the airport. It's weather so what can you do about it? I understand such events are infrequent in Cabo, however. Both drivers were friendly and conversational. The resort is beautiful with curved walkways, 3 outdoor pools, with at least 1 outdoor large jacuzzi, and a tropical landscape. The infinity edge of the adult pool extended its view into the ocean! There is also a Teen Clubroom and a children's play area near the family pools. It is a well-staffed property with pleasant and polite team members at every level. If we happened to lose our way, the staff not only provided directions but took the time to walk with us to our destination!!! Tony, our personal concierge was in constant communication and our go-to for questions and support. He elevated our anniversary celebration by providing us with several personalized surprises! His contributions provided us with great memories! Delightful experience at every restaurant, especially the many fine dining establishments. (Individual restaurant reviews coming soon). The luxury spa (the water journey was very relaxing), a reserved photoshoot (beautiful and professional photos), and wonderful poolside service, including a frozen treat cart and in-pool (literally) cocktail service, were all worth the time. The resort offers a daily schedule of on-resort activities in addition to access to off-resort activities. Two tips: 1) I recommend boxing out a couple of hours for post -water journey relaxation to enjoy the benefits of this detoxing, muscle stimulating, de-stressing experience. 2) plan for 2 appointments for the photoshoot, first for the shoot, a second, to select your photos. I've seen reviews of other all-inclusive properties where guests say after 3 days, they tire of the food choices. You will not have that problem here. Depending on your activity schedule you could easily spend 5 days here and not get bored. Looking forward to returning here as it was at the top of the list for vacation experiences.

Instead, floaters are only permitted at the main pool--which is filled with children and noise. For a hotel at this price point, this feels very restrictive and not guest-friendly. If you're expecting a relaxing pool experience, this policy makes it difficult to enjoy your stay. I have stayed at multiple Montage properties and this one has been extremely disappointing. I do not recommend this hotel. There are far better ones in the area such as the Esperanza and the Four Seasons.

Golf carts are available to get from place to place if you aren't wanting to walk, but all paths are paved for leisurely walks. You can't really leave the resort area without getting a ride all the way out, but that also makes it so you're unbothered. It's certainly a more pricey resort option, but anything you could want is here. Multiple restaurants and bars, a cute cafe that sells delicious pastries and lattes (and gelato!), and more pools than you know what to do with. My favorite spot to eat is probably the Thai spot - a fantastic ode to the Asian cuisine. The beach area is great and ocean on this side is swimmable, which is a huge bonus!

I spoke to him and told him he should be nicer. He was drunk and decided to hit on me, which is insane. I kept saying, no, you need to be nicer to your girlfriend. He kept pushing me. He decided he wouldn't take no for an answer after I told him I didn't want to be hit on or talk to him. He became increasingly aggressive. I tried to keep de-escalating. He told me that we WOULD get to know each other. He pushed his phone to me with his Instagram. It was full of pictures of naked women. I went to the host desk. I smiled, so I wouldn't upset him further. I kept smiling and told them I needed him to go away. He came up behind me. They called hotel security, who quickly came over. The man (Ryan) left with his bottle of wine. Security escorted me to my room. I saw him waving from the balcony of a room above mine, very near. I asked to be moved. I was frightened. They changed my room, but I did not sleep the entire night. The next morning, I spoke to the manager, Francisco Escuer. He told me: "I watched the tape, you were talking to the man and smiling. You smiled at the host stand. Why were you smiling if you were asking for help to get away from that guy?" I said, "Because he was coming after me, and that's what women do, so we don't aggravate men we know are dangerous." He said, "Well, his girlfriend didn't report anything." Again, I said: "Women don't report abusers because they are not believed, just like you are not believing me." Escuer also screamed at me and accused me of recording our conversation. He made physical gestures toward me during this. I told him I needed the tape, his information and the hotel's information. He refused to give me anything and yelled at me. I had to check out, pay for that stay, and another hotel. Escuer/the hotel are not safe for women.

We heard nothing but raving reviews from our guests about the rooms and cleanliness of the entire resort. I already had family and friends asking when we can come back for our anniversaries lol. Now for our wedding: The planning through Casa Dorada's wedding coordinator, Katherine Anaya, was seamless and so easy. I can't express enough how amazing she was to handle everything for my husband and I since we are from California. The location of the resort is perfectly on the beach with nearby bars and restaurants. Yes you can hear the music from the bars but it stops at 9:30/10pm. Didn't hear any complaints from any of ours guests (ages 25-83). The wedding ceremony and reception was at the 12 Tribes Terrace and they really transformed the atmosphere to be exactly how I envisioned the wedding! If you're hesitant about doing a destination wedding in Cabo, I researched about 20 resorts and landed on Casa Dorada because of the value, location and how beautiful the resort looks. We are so happy with how our wedding came out and how amazing the staff is at this resort. We want to highlight our amazing wedding planner (through the resort) Katherine Anaya who handled everything for us and made sure the whole wedding experience was stress free and seamless for us. Her first impression through email with me truly made me feel her hospitality and kindness. Meeting her in person for our pre-wedding trip January 2026 just solidified that we have an amazing person helping create our wedding vision and bring it to life! She even went as far as having a custom wedding slideshow playing in our hotel room that had our pictures from our wedding website. The attention to detail Katherine gives is beyond what I could've ever imagined from anyone! Another person I want to mention was Rene at the 12 Tribes Restaurant. We met him during our pre-wedding trip and he handled everything with ease for our signature His/Her drinks and our food tasting samples. Right away his great hospitality and kind spirit could immediately be seen and felt. For our wedding in April 2026, Rene remembered us and gave nothing short of excellent service during our entire wedding week when we saw him or ate at the 12 Tribes restaurant. Rene was actually a server during our wedding and was making sure everything was going smoothly and made sure we felt at home. Two more people who are worth mentioning: Heriberto at the swim-up bar and Michele at the B Bar. Two awesome people who love what they do. They remembered us each time we came back to them. They remembered our drink orders and truly made us feel like family there. If you're thinking about a wedding at Casa Dorada, my advice to you is do it and you won't regret it. It truly felt like our home away from home. Muchas gracias Casa Dorada!!! We will definitely be back! This isn't goodbye, but see you soon!!
