Butternut squash soup

We love this Capital Grill-huge parking garage, free parking (3 hours) upon QR code scan. Love the staff, whether you're at the bar or dining room it's spectacular service. The aged NY strip, oysters, filet sandwiches, cocktails, desserts, garlic shrimp, the soup- you name it and allll of it rock. The Capital Hour menu is unbeatable and highly recommend you ask for it at the lounge. Great spot for date nights, family celebrations or business meals. Absolute perfection

Came here for birthday dinner and had an amazing time. Venue: large, elegant, classy, busy, lively atmosphere. Booth, tables, private rooms for all occasions. Food: it is a steakhouse. So we ordered steak that was recommended to us. Porchini rubbed bone in ribeye, spinach pear pecan salad, lobster bisque. EACH dish was 5 stars out of 5! Let me tell ya, when your not- so- favorite dish becomes your favorite, they are doing something right. Lobster bisque was delicate- savory and light and lobster in soup was chunky and cooked perfect. Salad was amazing - sweet salty of sweetened pear and Gorgonzola cheese and pecan crunch in every bite was heavenly. Porchini ribeye was recommended and we were hesitant as we didn't want overpowering flavor but it was perfect! Porchini rubbed seasoning was light- hint of vinaigrette cut the richness down and complimented steak flavor. Steak was cooked to perfection just how we asked, it was juicy tender and with a little firmness just how you can expect from aged steak. Potato Au gratin was very nice! Service: Doug was very knowledgeable- provided exceptional service. Also great knowledge on wine ! Price: price is high but it is worth every penny in my opinion. Hub and I agreed that this is our favorite steak place. We will be back

The Capital Grille never fails the food and service was excellent. We started with happy hour at the bar and then followed up with birthday dinner for 14. My drinks were great I loved the peach bourbon smash. My strawberry lemon drop was a little off it may have been the brand of liquor. The lobster crab cake was tasty and feeling. The toasted chicken was savory and the lamb chops were cooked to perfection. The ambiance was nice but we were loud unfortunately.

IYKYK..just in case you don't..Fabulous place! Celebrating my friend's birthday. Could not have been a better venue. The service was awesome! The food was worth an award!! I had a crab cake with lobster for an appetizer. My main dish was seared scallops with lobster, with asparagus risotto. Absolutely delicious!! The venue was beautiful and inviting, along with complimentary valet parking. Definitely a 5 star experience!!

Bryan made our night even more special!! Late review but an essential one. Our Anniversary was last Saturday and I have been wanting to dine at The Capital grille for a minute. Made reservations super easy. The offered free valet always a plus. Our table was set for our Anniversary not sure if it was my husband's request or if it's standard decoration. Either way I was happy upon being seated. Then we met Bryan. He is simply delightful! He provided so phenomenal service and recommendations. Everything we tried was amazing. From appetizers to entrées!! My husband and I were so happy!! Bryan thank you so much!! When we come back to NC we will definitely ensure you are working and visit.

Visited Capital Grille for a friends 50th Birthday. Service and food were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Cozy atmosphere, nice date night, casual night out or celebratory restaurant. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. The bar staff were equally amazing as we waited for our table and guests to arrive. Parking is plentiful in the garage or you can choose to use the Free Valet.

Top notch service! We visited for our anniversary, and I have never had a restaurant treat me so well for a celebration. We received a happy anniversary card at the table, all staff members congratulated us, and we received complimentary champagne, a delicious dessert platter, and even a rose!! A special shoutout to our amazing, thoughtful, and attentive waitress, Giselle! Overall, amazing restaurant. My favorite were the mashed potatoes!

My husband and I came here for restaurant week last night, and it was amazing! You get a soup or salad, entree with sides, and a dessert for $50. We each got a glass of wine as well, but that was separate. They brought out bread right away, which was nice. I liked the variety. I got the clam chowder, filet mignon, and the espresso cake. Everything came with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. It was all so good! My steak was cooked rare just how I like it. We noticed our table was a little wobbly, and our server quickly moved us to a new table. The service was great, and the staff was very attentive. I would definitely come again, especially during restaurant week when you can get a great deal!

Attended The Generous Pour event and had a pleasant experience my first time here. We tasted 3 reds and 3 whites for $45 with the purchase of an entree. My scallop with lobster and asparagus risotto was delicious! My friends had the sea bass and filet items, with sides of sautéed spinach, corn, and Brussels sprouts. And the dessert...exquisite. The ambiance is upscale but laid back. Perfect for date night or groups. They also have complimentary parking for your convenience. Kudos to Douglas and Hayat for an awesome dining experience.

Butternut squash bisque with curried apples

We had absolutely wonderful service at The Capital Grille. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. The bread basket was great and very varied which I think was nice. The bread was warm and served with salted butter which was a nice touch. I had the butternut squash bisque which was just ok. The portion of the soup was really small and I don't think it was worth the price. The soup was a bit watery and just lacked flavor. I had the filet mignon with mushrooms, onions and fig essence. I had it cooked medium rare. It was really delicious. Super tender and cooked to perfection. The mushrooms, onions and fig essence added a slight sweetness to the dish which really enhanced it. For the side dishes we ordered the asparagus and the au gratin potatoes. I would highly recommends the au gratin potatoes. Phenomenal! They had a crispy potato topping which really added to the textural component of the dish. The asparagus was a miss. They left the woody root on and some pieces were overcooked and some undercooked. I would ordered a different side to this next time. My husband had the crème brûlée for dessert and it was amazing. Super creamy and had the perfect crunchy caramel topping. Overall we had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the food. Some misses but mostly hits! And fantastic service! I would definitely recommended it.

We went here for our anniversary on our way to our wedding tasting. Our server Maxx was awesome. They had a nice table set up for the celebration and our drinks were great. My fiance said her dirty martini is one of the best she's ever had. The food is top notch and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This one tends to be on more expensive side but it's great for special occasions. The food certainly did not disappoint!

Beautiful restaurant with good service and great wine/food. I went for a friends birthday and the staff went all out to make sure we had a great meal and experience. My friends all ordered different cuts of steak and let me try a bite of each. Steaks were cooked as ordered. My favorite steak was the Ribeye. However, Ribeye is my favorite cut, so I may be biased. All items are served a la carte, and sides are served family style.

We had a delicious lunch at Capital Grille! Thank you to Rachel for taking such great care of us. I made a reservation online and they asked us if we were celebrating anything special. It was my mom's birthday so they gave her a card upon arrival and added birthday confetti to the table. We had a great table in a booth and started with bread and butter. My mom had a gin and tonic snd said it was made perfectly. I had a red wine from Antinori and it was also excellent. For lunch we had the salads and then the steak and frites. Wow! Everything was cooked perfectly . Then as the finale, we shared the creme brûlée ans that was the winner. A super meal and thank you for making the experience so special. Valet parking is also provided.

I ordered the whipped ricotta for an appetizer to share and a burger with fries for my entree. The whipped ricotta was ok. It would taste better with some sort of seasoning in it. My fries were served hot but needed some salt. I asked for my burger to be cooked well done but I was brought a burnt burger. I took one bite but it was too overcooked. I then requested that my server have my burger be cooked medium well so I didn't get another burnt burger. When my burger was brought back out, our server had me cut into my burger to make sure it was to my liking. The preparation was better but it was bland and tasted like there wasn't any seasoning on it. After this our server wasn't as attentive anymore. For dessert we got the donuts. They were served warm and I enjoyed them with the cherry sauce. I did not like the chocolate sauce that was served with the donuts.

I am compelled to remind every resident and every visitor to make this a "must go to and enjoy" place for either brunch on Saturday or Sunday, or for dinner any night of the week. Go for the amazing cuisine, vast wine list, and stay for the outstanding service! Recently, we have found ourselves trying not to enjoy just our go-to favorites that are mainstays on the ever-evolving menu. We have been blown away by the flavors of the large plate option called Chicken Pimientos. Don't let the name throw you, because it's not super spicy, it just has a nice kick to it with delicious potatoes accompanying the very moist and flavorful chicken. The way the kitchen team at Barcelona handles the preparation of the eggplant caponata is impressive and very unique. Other favorites on the tapas section of the menu recently are stuffed piquillos, corn zucchini bunuelos (think fair food turned healthy!), Wagyu carpaccio, lamb kofta, and pulpo gallego. Remember that their tapas offerings rotate in and out, oftentimes based on the season and availability of fresh products. The wine offerings are unparalleled in the city of Raleigh, and when you visit for dinner on a Monday evening, every bottle is half-priced. Can't beat that for a way to jump-start your work week! We tend to sit at the bar on most visits as bartenders Kira and Cameron truly handle their bar with a welcoming vibe and impressive ease. General manager Jed is a visible leader of this great team and makes every guest feel appreciated. Awesome job all the way around!
