I was just passing by up the A41 at lunchtime yesterday, and having passed three pubs which were closed at lunchtime, eventually stopped here.
Its a large old establishment (could do with a bit of new paint on the outside). Several rooms including a large dining room at the back.
All I needed was a pint and a sandwich. Greeted by a pleasant young lady, who served me a pint of Greene King (suprised to see that here as its brewed in Suffolk!), good taste and well kept for a weakish bitter. Also orderd a tuna/mayo sandwich. Service was very prompt and the sandwich came with a good helping of salad, coleslaw and some chips . It was delicious. Bill £7.70 and I was in and out in 25 mins. Clearly they do a good menu of cooked food also, but I cant comment on this , though another review site has good reviews . Highly recommended. read more
