The lunch menu was well mixed with plenty options to share and taste. We went for the allotment board to share for 4 adults and 2 kids which went down well and every last bit scraped from the board. For main I had the roast butternut squash, blue cheese and chick peas. Wow - what a taste on a plate. Each mouthful washed down with some local ale. Would highly recommend!!

I love my pub Sundays. The Black Pig is a superb pub with a mouth-watering menu. The roast beef with Yorkshire pud is very near perfection, with major respect to the chef for his gravy (I'm a total gravy buff, I always attack my roasts armed with an extra jug of gravy). I also tried the roast pork; cooked absolutely perfectly with a nice big chunk of beautifully roasted and spiced crackling. My sister's lucky to have gotten away with any at all... They've got a parking lot around the back, which is convenient considering that parking in T Wells is one of those circle-round-for-hours-hating-life type of experiences... BBQs every Sunday evening in the beer garden, definitely giving that a go. I peeked a look at the BBQ menu, first thing on offer: "Bunny Burger"! They've got my attention and my business! Now how do I explain that to my daughter....

Not a bad little pub for a evening out with friends. It is best and easier to go to the bar to…read moreorder drinks vs. trying to do so on the darn app. Prices are reasonable. I was told to stay away from the food as the quality was rather low. So I can't comment on that but I did hear it from a few different locals. Or maybe they were hiding a gem...who knows? :) Would go back for drinks no problem. Would probably try the food if I had enough drinks.

Lest I become a snob and look further down my nose at this soon to be hooded fellow, I shall move on to writing about the actual place It's a Wetherspoons pub and so I suspect you'll get the idea of what it has to offer very quickly. The building was formerly the main Post Office building in Tonbridge, then a Quasar laser game, then the heaving alchoholic monstricity that is the pub it still is today. Cheap and soulless are the buzzwords of the Wetherspoons franchise and well they do them. Many a night I've lost under endless rounds of black sambuca chased by gallons of unwholesome rums and whiskeys. Never a stable foot leaves this place and nor should it for who would want to remember what lies outside..Tonbridge.

What a nice pub. My…read morefriends and I came here for lunch... I was quite hungover (and in need of a roast dinner), one friend just needed cheese, and my other friend wanted a small snack because she was planning a roast dinner for that evening. The Ragged trousers coped with all of our *needs.* My roast lamb (that was served inside a huge yorkshire pudding, like you get in the North) was perfect. The baked Camembert looked good, as did the croque monsieur. The pub itself is quite large, with plenty of space to drink/eat outside. The décor shabby-chic with lots of interesting things to look at on the walls. If you'd like to order food, first grab a drink and ask the bar staff for a table number... then a second member of staff will come and take your order.

The Pantiles has never, with the exception of The Duke of York, really had any decent pubs so I'm delighted to say....we've got two of 'em now! This place is relaxingly scruffy, you might even say boho-chic, with stripped wooden tables, dark wooden chairs, pictures all over the walls and playing interesting music. Inevitably, it sprawls onto Kent's best beer garden, The Pantiles, and was attracting the twenty & thirty something brigade. Was it my imagination or did they seem a little, well, more upmarket than the 'Spoons lot up the hill? Anyways, they offered draught Harveys (natch, yawn) but also Sharps Doom Bar from Cornwall & Hampshire's Ringwood Old Thumper. Really good to see the latter in town. I could spend a happy time here with some mates or a paper & I think it's likely to be a good Winter pub too. They offer food, but though I hear it's good I didn't eat. Another time. Oh yeah, and there was little sign of any Ragged Trousered Philanthropists in TW last night. Or any other for that matter.....
