I am a vegetarian, I was there for a function, went to the meat-filled buffet, sighed out loud, and went back to my table empty handed, BUT the buffet staff figured out ON THEIR OWN that i was a vegetarian, and sought me out to offer me a plate of spaghetti ( which wasn't even an option on the buffet) at NO charge. So it's been a few months since we've gone to Nocera's and since the food wasn't terrible the first time around, we were willing to give it another chance. My in-laws love Nocera's and the Chateau and I had just gotten off a flight from Logan so I was starving. I stuck with the chicken parm and spaghetti. The spaghetti sauce was just as bland as I remembered the creamy gnocchi sauce from the first go-round. It seriously tasted like Sysco-brand tomato sauce. The cheese on top of chicken parm cutlet wasn't even fully melted. My mother-in-law had the stuffed shrimp which were absolutely huge, but it came with a lot of breading that easily separated from the shrimp and were doused in butter. I will give it credit that it hit the spot, but I don't think the quality warranted the price. read more

I have been coming here for years and the food hasn't changed. I always sit at the bar (they have bar specials) BUT beware, if you go between 5-7 the ENTIRE bar area is full of old people. We have had to walk out a few times because there were absolutely no seats (and again, no one under the age of 65). We order the trio, which for around 13 bucks includes three apps of your choice. The eggplant milano is to die for. The toasted raviolis are the same, great raviolis they have had for years and the calamari is spicy and fried. TAKE NOTE: The Stoughton location does NOT offer brunch! I think ALOT of people are getting there Noceras confused....The have at least 5 locations, and only two offer brunch. Fine experience at the Stoughton Chateau. Manager Jen was very friendly, and the waitress, Patty, was pretty good. The food was good and the restaurant was very clean, large, and bright. The interior design, such as wallpaper, flooring, and decor, was very outdated and not nearly as interesting as the "golf" motif in the Norwood Chateau (which I prefer), and made the restaurant look more like a nursing home (which is what I first thought it actually was, before seeing the bright "CHATEAU" sign). Also, is this even the Chateau? My receipt says "Nocera's", not Chateau? What's up with that? I do need to add that I loved the size of the booths and tables, as well as the aisles. There was space everywhere and the booths were much larger than average at other hotels, which but a nice twist on things, with lots of space to eat, without being cramped at all. Anyway, pretty good experience. Wouldn't make a special trip to Stoughton to go back, since I like the Norwood location better (also much closer to my house), but a good choice for the Stoughton area, for good service & great food. 4 stars. read more

Last night was the first time that we returned to Nocera's (now called "The Chateau") since our 2009 visit. The place was pretty empty, possibly because the Pats game was on, but it was still eerily empty. It is such a huge space, to see it empty at 5pm on a Sunday night is kind of weird. In my last review, I said that the service was excellent. This time around, not so much. Most of the servers looked bored/unhappy, which is not a welcoming sign. Our server was cranky (older woman) and from the start she seemed overwhelmed/angry/unhappy, etc. As time passed, she seemed to lighten up a little and even took a couple of photos for us. But, her initial "crotchety old lady" attitude at the beginning was not encouraging. We had a party of 7, and everyone seemed to be pleased with their food. I had one of the Italian Trio dishes (#1) which came with toasted ravioli, chicken parm, and fettuccine Alfredo. The toasted ravioli was surprisingly excellent. It was crispy, but did not feel like it was deep fried or greasy. The chicken parm was also very good and tender. The fettuccine Alfredo was just average, especially compared to the other 2 items on my plate. The only other food that I sampled was one of the broiled scallops; they were fresh, but cooked in way too much butter for my taste. So, based on my 2 visits, I've been pleased with the food. The atmosphere is just a little too "townie" for me, but it is a nice place to enjoy a family dinner. read more

Nocera's offers the BEST Italian food in Stoughton. I keep telling people to ignore LaStoria - it's terrible and has gone downhill in recent years. Go to Nocera's! The bread is to die for and almost everything on the menu is delicious. Excellent staff - they all really know what they're doing and make you feel like you are part of the family there. The only thing that makes it miss a perfect score is the sauteing is TERRIBLE! If you don't want a piece of meat in soup, don't order it! Otherwise, everything else is delicious since I've eaten here for years and have tried a lot on the menu. The bar is even better, as you will get your meal very quickly and the bartenders are so nice. read more

The quality seems to be slipping at Nocera's. I was in with my son recently. We both ordered chicken parm and we were both extremely disappointed. You see, that dish is really the only dish I eat at Nocera's. The chicken parm tasted as if it was reheated. Like it was made hours and hours before if not the day before and reheated for us. (Like I had brought home yesterday's lefterovers and tried to reheat them in my toaster oven).Not at all freshly made. When I am spending $15 for a meal, I want it made for me. If they keep this up, there is no reason for me to ever return. The bread is as good as ever, but everything else was just sorta meh. I probably wouldn't come back here everrrrr again. I've always seen this place and wondered how it was and mmm now i know! If only if I didn't get a gift card from this place... my curiosity would have been way greater than how this place actually is! I've never seen shrimp scampi with fried shrimp...like wtf? who does that? oh Nocera's does. I ordered a veggie wrap (with chicken) and it was gross...the first half was mediocre (but i was hungrrryy) and when I got to the second I couldn't even bare to eat it anymore. I took a bite and had to spit it out! It was bitter and just tasted....wack. I'm not the least bit curious on how their other food taste. Also, the place looks old school! Walking up the velvet steps made me feel like I was Chef Ramsey ready to ream the owners out for "Kitchen Nightmares". The hostess was a little weird and made me feel awkward. I like to think of Nocera's as a more "authentic" Olive Garden type restaurant. It comes across as "the real deal" with all the usual Italian dinner staples but I find most of their food to be incredibly bland. The quality may be more on the homemade side, but almost everything on the menu just lacks spices and/or seasonings. Imagine spaghetti sauce tasting like just crushed tomatoes with nothing else and you get the idea. I've had tastier food at Bertucci's to be honest. On the positive side, they make an awesome iced tea martini and service is always fast and friendly. I hate to be so critical of a place that tries so hard to make for a pleasant dining experience everytime I've been there. If only the food was more flavorful, I wouldn't keep finding myself saying "meh" whenever it's suggested to go there. read more

The entire time I was here I kept waiting for Gordon Ramsey to walk in. It would make for a great episode of his show! I imagine this place was pretty great when it was new. Today it's tired and dirty. In their defense it was 2:30 on a Sunday, but come on. Our first table was next to a bus bin that the other staff were dropping plates into behind our heads. The place was practically empty so there was no need to put us in this seat. We asked to be moved and they were ok with it. My food.... well it was lame. The "famous" toasted ravioli were cold and fried. They tasted frozen. My veal was dry and the sauce on it was luke warm. Also this was veal parm and there was no cheese on it. First time going and I was SUPER DISAPPOINTED and will NEVER return!!! The waiter was too laid back and sloppy. When we first got there he poured water but one cup overflowed and he left the table wet didn't even dry it up or anything. Then we had the entire dinner and NEVER asked us if we wanted drinks. Once we mentioned if he has drinks at the end of the dinner and he didn't even apologize for forgetting to offer us. I couldn't finish drinking my drink because he didn't get it to me fast enough, so I was not able to take it. Then he says, it's sad that for an overpriced drink, you are able to take it with you. I LOVE this restaurant... have visited a few of their locations (there are 8) and I can honestly say I have NEVER been disappointed... in the food or the service! Yesterday in Stoughton... Chicken Palermo... now I can't eat pasta... I know sad huh? but... I asked for an addition of mushrooms to this dish with NO pasta, a side of broccoli cooked til soft and dressed with olive oil lemon juice and fresh chopped garlic! IT WAS FABULOUS! So much so, that I would recommend the dish to ANYONE... AND ... I am looking for a recipe to make this at home. I never eat desert either but... we indulged and had their amazing Tiramisu!!! I was in the area over the weekend and stopped in after looking at the menu online, it has a lot to offer. We were greeted right away and brought to our table. Immediately I was skeptical, it was a Sunday afternoon and the place was empty. There were 2 other parties near us and a handful of people in the bar area. We were greeted however by a very bubbly Maria. She was kind, professional and prompt. The entrees' however, left something to be desired. The toasted ravioli was excellent. Very flavorful and fresh. The fettuccini on the other hand was bland. All you could taste were the egg noodles, it lacked any real cheese flavor and was very watery. Very disappointing. The fried seafood platter, OK but where's the shrimp? I will say though the fried calamari was excellent. I guess it is hit or miss. But for me and my family, we will not be returning. read more

My husband and I went here and shared a pasta dish at the bar. It was really really good. I really hope that they consider upgrading becuase that is the one reason I won't go back or bring outsiders in. The whole look of the place and decor is so outdated that it kind of reminds me of a dusty grandparents house. Please update and I guarantee you will get more and diverse clientele. read more

My coworkers and I had take out from here a few months ago for lunch. Half way into my pasta dish I discovered a dead cockroach in the sauce. Was excited about trying this place out since we just relocated our business down the street and hoped this would be a good place to bring customers. Wrong. I can't believe these folks are still In business since 1933. The Chianti we ordered was bad (oxidized from being left open for a day or so), the grilled eggplant had a splash of tomato sauce, bread was like Wonder bread and the service was horrible. The restaurant was not busy as it was early on a Monday night. And, the room went from hot to cold to hot. The server, when we managed to flag her down, explained that the cold air return does that in the room and you just have to wait. There are many nice Italian restaurants in the area. Very disappointed with their customer service. We go there every week and pick up pizza on Tuesday nights. This week I added a chicken Greek salad. First off I couldn't believe that it cost $16 dollars for a salad. But ok, my fault for not checking the price before I ordered it. However when I got it home there was no feta cheese. The salad on a whole wasn't impressive, specifically for that price, but the lack of feta was very disappointing. So I called to let them know, and after transferring me and keeping me on hold for a few minutes a women cane on the line and told me I could come back and get the cheese (it was literally pouring rain and my entire family was in the middle of eating dinner) or she could give me a credit for the price of the side of feta. Not the salad... just the cheese. Sorry, but the entire salad isn't complete without all the ingredients and not to be a stickler but the credit should have been for the entire thing. So, there was an ant crawling on the wall, stains on the carpet, and we were the only 3 in the place under 60 on a thursday evening around 6... maybe not the cleanest or loveliest of atmosphere's, but the prices are good and the food yummy. The owners of this restaurant also run the "Chateau" restaurants in Waltham, Andover and several other towns. I would def. choose the Waltham pub area over this poop-hole any day. read more

Went for lunch today and it was superb. Had the toasted ravioli and chicken parm and it was tasty with large portions. My dinner companions had the fish which they said was delicious. The service was fast, but not too fast, in a good way. The scali bread was soft and fresh. The atmosphere is cozy. I definitely would recommend it and will be back. read more
