It's worth a stop on your way through downtown Spokane. I like that Spokane has the Riverfront Park where there are many things to do and see and take photos of. It gives me a little vibe of the San Antonio Riverwalk but less festive. I will say that I expected this wagon to be gigantic, but it's not actually that big. It's big, don't get me know, just a little less big than I thought it'd be. It has a slide down the middle. So, if you've got kids, maybe take them for a little slide. Then go for a walk by the small falls or go on the carousel or use the Suction Goat near by (sounds naughty, but it's not that kind of suck-cion). Although, there are quick a few homeless people around those parts sooooooooooo...... Anyway, I can say I've been and it was moderately decent. The whole river front experience is more to my liking though.

The wagon was so fun! The slide was steep and fast for my 8 year old. She loved it. Thank you Spokane for a fun memory!

Spokane was the nearest "big city" so it was where to go for drive-in movies, record stores (remember those?), fast food restaurants, concerts and of course, cruising Riverside Drive (remember cruising?) and grabbing a burger at Dick's Hamburgers. Now as an adult when I visit I still love Spokane, but for mostly different reasons. Some nostalgic and some because Spokane is still a cool city. I visit once every couple of years. My octogenarian parents still live in Spokane as does one brother and one sister. Spokane boasts a lot of history. There is a lot of old architecture and brick. Lots and lots of brick! Riverside Park downtown is a beautiful Spokane destination as is Manito Park and Botanical Gardens. Beautiful and fun Coeur 'd Alene, Idaho is just a short drive away. If four full seasons is your thing, Spokane has them. Hot dry summers, cold, leaf-turning colors autumns, cold and snowy winters, rainy springs. I've said a lot of nice things about Spokane, so why not five stars? Hey, if I thought that Spokane was a 5-star city I'd still live there, right? By the way, Dick's Hamburgers is still slinging burgers after all these years. For some reason they tasted a lot better as a 17 year-old than do as a 52 year old!

"THE WHITE STUFF": They have a cream that complemented the scones perfectly. The scones are good on their own of course, but was fun to add it on for a few bites (can get addicting for sure haha). It's hard to describe the taste of the cream-light in texture and slightly sweet. Definitely worth trying! Loved how we got gratitude journals as part of this event! Friendly service wins my heart every time. - the butternut squash soup was AMAZING!! So creamy, buttery, flavorful, HOT. Perfection! - a good old fashioned! - save room for the dessert beignets!! Warm, melt in your mouth, light and airy. - was excited to see the portobello mushroom burger on the menu- flavorful and a tad messy. - the calamari has an Asian flair. Points for being different and delicious, but the calamari was small and you don't get very much. I liked the slaw. Lots of slaw, little calamari. Cons: The burgers were overcooked but still went down . The bottom bun was very overcooked...a bit too hard for our liking.

Service: our waiter was helpful and kind - when he was there. It started off great, but as the evening went on he wasn't there when we needed. We waited a fair amount of time for our entrees, drinks we had ordered, and lastly for boxes and our checks. It was a little frustrating, but he was clearly busy and it may not have been his fault. Food: we started with the pork burnt ends. They were cooked wonderfully and tasted great. I would say they were maybe just a tad too sweet, but I still really enjoyed them. My husband got the crossbred corn Mac and cheese. He liked it and thought it had good flavor. I tried it and didn't care for it. I got the Tuscan Penne pasta with Chicken. I didn't love it. It had large whole cooked cherry or grape tomatoes in it and they weren't great and There wasn't a ton of flavor in general. The chicken in it was probably the best part and I added it for $7.50. Our friends got the special which was some shrimp risotto. The risotto was overcooked and was mush and the amount of crispy onions was way more than the amount of risotto in the dish. The shrimp was cooked well though and they enjoyed the flavor. For drinks I started with the Cadillac Margarita. It was far too sweet for me. The next drink I asked them to make me a spicy margarita with just jalapeños and pineapple juice instead of any mix they had. That turned out better than my first margarita. we had a good time with our friends and enjoyed our night out. However, we all kind of said we didn't care to make it back there. None of us were too impressed and for what we paid, it just wasn't worth it.

The area was very comfortable and well-designed, and the fire pits were absolutely gorgeous. I'd love to come back on a chillier evening. I enjoyed a red blend from Barristers that was the perfect counter to the other sweet drinks that weren't holding my interest. My husband absolutely loved the spicy Terrace Sunset. I think he had two! I didn't try any of the (non-dessert) food, but I was pleased to see that there were vegan and vegetarian options. I did try the dessert - the "Rollo" chocolate/caramel cakes - and it was amazing. It was definitely shareable - I could only handle a few bites, but they were good bites indeed!
