The chimney sweeps arrived promptly today as scheduled and proceeded to do an excellent job of cleaning a very sooty fireplace and insert. The owner/operator, with many years of experience, is very knowledgeable of his craft. He pointed out several issues after the insert was removed that were apparent to our own eyes (hairline crack at top of stove, damper misuse cause-and-effect, etc.). With no pressure, he presented several options to us, but advised us to think and pray about it before making any decision.
