We joined two other couples here last Sunday and prior to dining, we enjoyed drinks. We reviewed the menu and made our selections. The food was served promptly and everyone in our party was pleased with their choice of dinner. I opted for a New York Strip Steak, baked potato and salad. Vegas quality restaurant, for a small town price. Yes, I was born in Vegas and currently live in Vegas, visiting family that lives nearby today ;) Everything was great, and I couldn't believe the prices during happy hour! If you can sneak in here before 6pm, almost every entree on the menu goes for a solid $20-25, which includes two sides and a dessert! Not sure how they make money at these prices. They got me here for the dry aged Ribeye, the Delmonico cut which is a rare steak cut in Vegas, only found in the restaurant named behind it that I have found thus far. At a fraction of the price around $43 or so here, which includes two tasty sides of your choice. Vegas would have charged $65-75 plus $8-12 per side for comparison. This one on par except price. The shrimp cocktail are also Vegas Steakhouse quality as well, very plump, large prawns. "Colossal" is the correct pronoun here, very clean taste, meaty. The New Zealand Lamb Chops were also perfect and highly recommended, cooked a beautiful medium minus, juicy with zero game flavor and pairs quite nicely with the supplied Tzatziki. I went here on date night a little while back; we wanted to check out the club for membership, so we stayed the night and decided to have diner here while at the Avalon. It was a 2 min walk from the resort/country club where our room was. We did, even though we were told we wouldn't need to make a reservation. Upon walking up, I was pleasantly surprised by the mini waterfall and its soothing. We walked in and were promptly greeted and told it would be a few moments. However, upon walking in immediately, you could feel the sweltering heat in the restaurant. I mentioned it to the hostess, who said the bar typically ran cooler, so we were sat in a cozy booth at the bar. I was surprised how indecently loud two of the other tables were and even mentioned it to the bartender/ our waiter, but nothing was done about this. It was honestly so loud it was unsettling to hear while trying to relax and eat. I understand having fun, but this was just too much in that type of environment. I ordered a house Caesar salad and crab cakes. He called the veal shank with house salad and a vinaigrette dressing. They started by bringing our bread and oil with herbs for dipping. I tried this combo. The taste was very off, and I couldn't eat it. I cannot pinpoint what it was exactly, but I would not recommend this even though it is gratis with the meal. The salads were both delicious but standard for any other place. What set them aside was the dressings which were truly stood out. When the meal came out, they were the stars of the whole show. They were both vast and hearty servings. The crab cake remoulade was as close to the true Cajun remoulade I've had since moving to Ohio almost three years ago. The cakes mainly were crab with very little stuffing which made it even tastier to me. The asparagus had a lemon taste and perfect crunch from being grilled to perfection. His veal was humongous and fall off the bone. I was so impressed with the vegetable au jus which I had never heard or tried before this dish. The potatoes were standard mashed potatoes but when the whole meal was combined it was a trifecta of perfection. I would highly recommend coming and eating at the chophouse for a fine dining experience. Overall it was a lovely dining experience how we. Due to the very offputting temperatures when we arrived, the SUPER loud bar patrons, and the strange flavor in the oils oil dip, I did remove 1 star. read more

This was my favorite restaurant, we make a 45 minute trip just for this place. The last few times left a lot to be desired. Very slow service and food took forever to come out (it was not busy at all). I got the crab topped salmon with veggies and mashed potatoes. My salmon had bones in it. The veggies were not seasoned even with a little salt/pepper and were half raw. Last time we were here my husband's pasta sauce was rancid. There were flies EVERYWHERE that all of the tables around us were swatting and complaining about. Just disappointing that it's been continuously missing the mark. read more

Another visit and another great dinner with great friends. We made reservations which were needed especially since it was Saturday night. This experience was for my birthday (which was on the next day). We had a wonderful server who was attentive and efficient. For apps we had the peppers in oil and the blue crabbed stuffed mushrooms. Their peppers are some of the best around. Good spice, bug chunks of garlic and a few sliced green olives make for a great treat. The stuffed mushrooms, which were the special, were fantastic. Decent sized mushrooms stuffed with a creamy blue crab stuffing that were just delicious. My and wife and I both decided on the Blue cheese encrusted 8oz. sirloin which came topped with creamy gorgonzola and crispy onion straws. The steak was tender and cooked to my desired preference of medium. I chose the salad and loaded baked potato as my sides which made for a hearty, delicious meal. Free choice of dessert came along with our meals because it was happy hour. I chose the Limoncello Mascarpone cake which was out of this world delicious. The service was great! I love the menu set up. They have several options where you get your main dish with two sides and dessert for differing prices, plus the ability to upgrade. I had to go with the center cut sirloin with an awesome chopped salad and fresh veggies. I upgraded my dessert to the limoncello mascarpone cake and it was a great decision! Today my grandson & I visited this restaurant for the first time; recommended by my neighbor. We were immediately seated at a table with a lovely view of the golf course. I thought this is nice hoping the food would be just as delightful as the view. The server Cher arrived providing menus informing us she will return to take our beverage & dinner order shortly. She returned as promised to take our order. Later she returned bringing us the signature bread & olive oil - Parmesan cheese bread as a courtesy. Then came our Salads; Fifteen minutes later followed by: 1) One New York strip steak 2) One Ribeye steak both entrees with sides. The moment Cher placed the meals before us I could see my steak was over done. I ordered medium well. My grandson a strapping 23 year old young man tucked into his meal like a Marine at Boot Camp (nothing on a plate ever lasts long with him). He just said it's okay Granny I'm going to eat it anyway. I simply chuckled. Cher arrived inquiring about our meals. I informed her my steak was overdone. She disappeared bringing the manager, Taylor with her. I wasn't happy at all & I'm certain Taylor could clearly see this. She asked if I would wish the steak to be prepared again. I said no thank you communicating to her I will merely eat the rice pilaf before me. 10 minutes later Taylor arrived with a freshly prepared steak. She asked me to determine if the steak was to my order & I said it was. Still, I couldn't eat the steak because at this point the joy of a pleasant meal was ruined so I simply packaged the steak to go. Though Taylor did her best to present the correct order (after the fact) the restaurant experience was completely ruined. A few minutes later Cher arrived with the check. As I looked at her face there was a cold, steel hardness in her eyes & pressed lips as I noticed her clenched jaw. This didn't bode well making our first visit to the restaurant even more unpleasant than what it already was. Cher returned shortly afterwards completing the payment transaction. She returned to her duties helping other patrons just beyond us. Still I could feel those disapproving eyes on us. My grandson simply apologized to me for the steak that was initially served to me & the experience at the restaurant wishing it should have been more positive experience for us. I told him it's okay as we prepared to leave. As we made our way to the exit we happened to see Taylor standing at the servers' station. I approached her requesting a moment of her time if possible informing her this is our first & last visit given the unpleasant experience we've observed here. Without warning Cher interrupts my conversation with the duty manager about her observations of my interaction with the manager earlier. I looked at Taylor in complete shock as one of her employees publicly commenced to argue with me in front of numerous seated patrons in the restaurant. I requested of Cher to allow the manager to address my concerns unless of course she was the duty manager assigned to this shift otherwise to stop I wasn't going to have this unprofessional discussion with her. I also pointed out the fact Taylor surely was able to manage her own affairs at this establishment. Taylor not once instructed Cher to leave the conversation nor did the manager attempt to defuse what was clearly becoming uncomfortable for both of us. Cher continued to publicly discipline me in front of a shift manager, guests, and other employees. I continued to request of Cher to allow Taylor to address this issue per company policy & her abilities as a duty manager. Fortunately, A third party intervened during this unpleasant exchange requesting we move the discussion to a private space out of the view of curious individuals. I agreed with the caveat to not include Cher in our discussion. Taylor & I moved to an empty dining room to finish our conversation. I communicated to her the shock of one of her employees publicly arguing with a customer is unprofessional & inexcusable. Miss Taylor offered a gift card which I declined given my public humiliation by one of her employees; a little too late given the gravity of my treatment. We like to sit on the "patio" which is enclosed but has big windows that staff opens on the good weather days. The view of the green golf course is fabulous. There are more romantic eating areas for first dates. The menu has something for everyone--food and price-wise. Check it online before you go. I normally get 2 meals out of one entree. Some meals come with complimentary sides and dessert. If you're gluten free, try their dinner rolls with the oil & parm dip. We've never had a bad meal there.
