We needed a cleaning for one floor. We are a retired couple that keep a clean, 2 year old house. We were, however, in need of a deep clean. The estimator came in and gave us a quote for $450 for a one time deep clean. We assumed it would take 3 hours at 150 per hour. It ended up taking just over 4 hours and costing $615. What is the point of an estimate if the final number is over 35% higher? read more

The owner came in, took one look at the pet bowls in the kitchen and asked how many cats we had (5). He then insulted me by saying there would be too much urine to clean because of my pets and it would somehow ruin his cleaning equipment. Then for some reason he still wanted to see the home, which has been in total disarray due to our basement flooding, but I explained that it would be put back to normal before they came out. It didn't matter, though, because after the walkthrough he refused once again to clean our home. Then he said it would be at least $2,000 to clean. Then he said he wouldn't clean it anyway. I hired the Cleaning Authority for a one-time, Spring cleaning today. I've had them in the past for little jobs here and there, bathrooms, or a kitchen. But today was the first time they did the entire house. 2 sweet young ladies showed up at the house and my first thought was, "Uh oh, I need someone like 20 years older who knows what a deep clean is!" But boy, was I wrong! They worked magic! My house has never been this clean. Ever. And I am Type A, SUPER nit-picky about everything. Without me even asking, they cleaned the gunky baseboards under the bathroom sinks. They cleaned bugs out of lamps! They vacuumed my dining room chairs! They shined and polished the metal things that the toilet paper roll is on! They actually scrubbed the plastic laundry sink that the washing machine dumps into, and I haven't even wiped that thing down in about 3 years. After they left, I kept walking from room to room, looking under things, amazed at how spotless my house was. I was grinning from ear to ear. I was literally texting a couple friends every time I discovered a new level of shocking clean. I cannot begin to describe how happy I am. These girls know what CLEAN is! They deserve a huge gratuity and I'll be sure they get it. All I can say is, if you hire this company, tell them you want the Spring Cleaning deep clean, and you will not be disappointed! read more

I've had cleaning authority come to my South Haven house for a deep clean once a month for 6 months now. They do a great job. The floors are shiny. My bathrooms are super clean. The contract, which I have read thoroughly, does NOT indicate the number of hours, only the hourly rate. That is why I had to ask your employee how long the cleaning job would take and she said 2 hours. What is indicated in the contract is "have vents dust removed" which it was not. Clever how you ask about the result before you give the total price though! read more

One of our tenants hired this company to clean their apartment for move out. After they completed their cleaning.... there were still cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. Animal hair stuck to the walls. The tables and furniture were not touched. The floors only had a vacuum taken to them. They were not even mopped. There was still pee in the grout around the toilet and the wall behind it was covered in pee as well. After contacting the owner and having her come out to the home. She only stated that the house was much worse when they started. I don't deny that, but their cleaning criteria was cobweb removal, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning bathroom, as well as wiping down walls and dusting furniture. If I had highered this company personally..... I would NOT have paid them a dime. read more

We hired the cleaning authority to clean our home which we also run an afc home out of. Although the team was polite the clean was poorly done. floors often times were left unswept and not mopped. bathrooms and/or bedrooms slipped always leaving some excuse as to why it couldn't be done. The last clean they didn't show until 3pm only did half the job tried to skip cleaning the kitchen because I was prepping dinner missed the floors and a bathroom and still charged the same amount. We also received a call from the owner regarding urine on our sons sheet from the previous night calling it a health and safety hazard but don't they clean toilets? The owner was very rude and said he would be happy to take us off the schedule! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY! read more

We contracted to have our 650 square foot condo cleaned one time by Cleaning Authority. The owner quoted (verbally) that it would take between 2-2.5 hours. Based upon that, we gave her the keys and scheduled a cleaning for October 12,2022. The day before the cleaning an employee called me to verify the time they would arrive and stated that she would call me with the final bill amount before charging my credit card. At the end of the day on the 12th I received an email for a charge of $562 which had not been authorized. That amount far exceeded our quote and we would never have used them if they had quoted more. When I contacted the business, I was told the owner wasn't available and that they would do NOTHING to adjust the bill, stating that it took two girls 4 hours to clean. The owner refuses to provide us with a detailed accounting of what they did. There is no way they could have spent that much time on a condo that is routinely cleaning when we are there. Even my neighbor wondered why they were there that long. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS THEY PUT EVERYTHING IN WRITING. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau for the record. I have no way to know how the unit looks post cleaning as we are back in Florida. My advise is to look elsewhere for cleaning of this type read more

We use TCA for our office. They are always polite, friendly and let us work with minimum disturbance. We recently moved to a new day and Val and Erica have been great as our new Team. (Once you are on the schedule you are paired with a regular Team.) There are certain things they do not do, windows and dishes for example. But they stick to a consistent routine with periodic rotations to things that don't need to be done every time. Linda is also great to work with. She manages the office, scheduling and financial side of things. If there are things that are not being done to your liking a quick phone call or email is all it takes. There is an initial inspection that they base their prices off of. If you want more detail work, expect to pay more for it. But they are very fair and reasonably priced. read more

We have been using The Cleaning Authority for several years. They come every two weeks and rotate what they detail. Every trip however, we receive kitchen and bathroom cleaning and all floors vacuumed and mopped/wiped. It is a huge relief to not have to worry about dusting, wiping down floor boards, etc when both parents work and have crazy busy schedules. It is well worth the money. We use cleaning authority for about a year. When they first started they were ok, but after awhile the good job they were doing started to taper off. We had to have them back several times to redo things that should have been done in the first place. Floors not cleaned well, things not dusted, rooms totally missed. The job used to take 2-3 hours to do well; when they started to be done in an hour to an hour and a half, that's when the quality went down, right down the tubes. We got tired of having to inspect the job, hoping it wasn't going to be bad. If your paying for service it should be done right. We fired Cleaning Authority. A Church lady does it now by herself, takes 2-3 hours and it's wonderful. read more

I tried Cleaning Authority for the first time this week. I was a bit disappointed because the lichen window sill didn't get wiped down, the kitchen floors were a little spotty, the shower had a hard water film still on it, and the kitchen counter tops were dusty after they dusted and failed to wipe them down. Since I was paying for an in depth clean, I was not happy with the job that was completed. read more

They do a great job in the details. I like how they do baseboards, carpet edges, knickknacks and under them, my dinning room table and all legs and cross boards. I have had two other companies in the area and none have cleaned as well and the price is on target or better! I would give them 5 stars ( they probably deserve it and most everyone would) but I am the type of person who believes there is always room to improve. I felt that simply canceling my bi-weekly cleaning services would be enough however, I feel that as a person who looks at reviews before hiring a company it feels only right to review this company for future potential users. What began as a bi-weekly 2 1/2 hour (after initial cleaning), above average cleaning of my home quickly became a 1 1/2 hour process of sweeping and wiping down counters. Things that were not done or not done even remotely well include, damp moping floors (spills are still obvious when they leave), wiping down bathroom floors (I have just cleaned them on what would be the cleaning rotation day and the water I used to hand mop them was brown when I finished. I asked that they use my sweeper more than once because theirs was not picking up dog hair on the floor and this was never done. Also, we have wood blinds that we asked to be dusted. Initially they were dusting them weekly, but rough. After one blind broke, I asked them to please dust gently and finally they quite dusting them all together without discussing the change with me. I was asked to purchase cleaning products for them when I commented that their was yellow mildew on the shower tiles because they told me theirs was not strong enough to take it off. Funny thing is, today I simply used a sponge...no product and it wiped off. Finally, on one occasion that I am aware of, the team leader showed up to begin cleaning at 9:30 am and after calling the company to clock in that they were in at the site, went out to her minivan and proceeded to eat something she brought with her. I was made aware of this after I went looking for her to discuss the zone they were focusing on for the day. Oh, and the "zone" strategy is supposed to be intensive cleaning in one but not all areas and it rotates. I found that it was code for, "we are cleaning only part of your home today". read more

Terrible experience! My wife called and they were about a week out. Come the day and time they did not show. So she called and said they had to move the time. Well, OK, thanks for letting us know, but ok. Before that time came they called again saying they needed to move it again, well by that time, it would have been beyond what we scheduled our babysitter for. My wife said that would not work. They said they had to schedule another customers before ours! Excuse me, why are you moving ours to fit additional people when we scheduled a week ago? My wife said she could not move the time again and they said they would have to reschedule if that was the case! She told them don't bother. Very Unprofessional! read more
