We contacted the "The clean up guys" and they were responsive over the phone and very punctual. I am, however, very dissatisfied with the end result and what transpired in between. I hired the clean up guys and a person by the name of Angelo arrived to do the work. We were quoted $99.00 over the phone but after Angelo arrived he asked if we wanted to pre treat the fabric first because without the pre treatment the steam cleaning really could not be done and it would not thoroughly remove the stains. With that type of suggestion we opted to do the pre treatment. After about 25 minutes he was finished with a three seat couch. I pointed out obvious stains to Angelo and pointed out what looked like food particles left on the fabric that I could easily scratch off with the tip of my nail. Although, Angelo went over the spots I pointed out, he challenged that I must have "surgeon eyes" because he could not see the stains that were clearly coming off as I scratched them off. Angelo also challenge that what appeared to be food stain could not be, to which I replied that he is the expert and I do not know what the stains are but if I could scratch them off with my nail it should clearly come off with his powerful machine and the pre stain treatment that was vital to the end result. A $99.00 quote over the phone turned into a $203.00 bill which included a pre treatment of the fabric to "remove" everything in it, a scotch guard treatment that I never saw being applied but Angelo assured me it was being applied simultaneously through the same nozzle he was cleaning with. I still logically cannot comprehend that. The couch is now dry and not so clean. The before and after picture advertised on line of the steam cleaned couch is misleading and in my opinion not a true representation of their work. read more

At first I was pleased that they seemed agreeable and I was able to negotiate with them on price over the phone, but my satisfaction ended there... On the phone I informed them I had a dog and there was hair on the couch. The day of the cleaning, they called me to inform me that the price would be *double* what they said it would be, because there was dog hair and "heavy soiling." I'm not really sure what that means, it's not like there were piles of sh-t on the couch. Was my couch dirty? Sure, that's why I called them to *clean it.* And I'm still not sure why extra vacuuming was worth double the price. I was stuck because I needed the couch cleaned ASAP as I was trying to sell it that night. So I agreed to the price. When I returned home, I found that they had dumped all of the hair and other gross stuff into my kitchen sink and completely clogged my drain. Cleaning all of that up was disgusting. I'm pretty sure my trash can would've been a better place to get rid of that. I normally don't like to write bad reviews, but I can't help but feel really unsatisfied with all of this. Heavy rain caused our finished basement to backup with water. This was our first experience with having a major home problem and using our home insurance. I can not say enough good things about Sherm (owner) and his responsiveness and going above and beyond to help us out. We had a thick sheet of ice from the 17" of snowfall that fell in February and when it started to melt water came into the apartment under the back door. we had to act fast to minimize any damage. I called several companies and The CleanUP Guys were very responsive. They sent Julius that afternoon and he cleaned everything up including breaking up the ice and removing it so that we didn't have to worry about any more water entering the apartment. Julius was really great to work with and I would definitely call him again. I would give 5 stars to Julius but am leaving 4 stars b/c the price was really high (Not in Julius's control; Sherman in the main office sets pricing). These guys showed up within a couple hours of my call and ON TIME as promised after my sump pump failed and filled my fully finished, furnished and carpeted basement. They worked late getting my carpets up and hauled to my garage, were polite, professional and funny. The next day I was contacted with follow up information and someone brought additional fans and dehumidifiers to my home. He called to see when I could be home and was at my home on time with the fans after calling to say he might be a little late because of traffic. Nobody has follow up like these guys anymore! We had Clean Up Guys come clean out our basement which had boxes, old construction materials, and random stuff accumulated over 15 years, and had also never been properly cleaned (because it was covered in stuff).
