The staff is friendly and helpful, and you have several dining options on the property. Breakfast is plentiful and relaxed overlooking the greens, and it's a nice getaway location for multiple occasions. You can get here by bus if you want to walk a lot, but it's advisable to have a car. Golfing is the main event here if you're not getting married (or combine for a double-pop). We had a nice stroll around the entire walking route (you can finish it in an hour), and overall we enjoyed our stay. We'll hope to return next time in town.

The view from our room of the 18th hole of one of the site's two golf courses was very much appreciated, in addition to the view of the River Severn and the Severn Bridge. The room was spacious and quiet. In addition to the comfortable double bed we were provided with ample lighting, a large desk, a chest of drawers, side table (unfortunately found to be quite dusty), comfortable armchair placed to take advantage of the view (which I took full advantage of, relaxing with a book and a coffee first thing in the morning after my swim), several large and clean mirrors, and a bedside table each. The wardrobe with sliding doors contained several hangars, instructions on how to obtain dry cleaning services, an iron and board, a large electric fan, and a good-quality hairdryer. Above the chest of drawers and facing the bed was the large flat screen television, upon which a range of options were available (including the opportunity to purchase recently-released films). We were provided with a selection of tea and coffee in our room, along with a small but clean kettle. At one portion of each item per-guest we felt that we could have been spared having to contact reception in order obtain more. The bathroom provided high-quality facilities above the level of essential. So many hotels no longer have bathtubs, so the opportunity to enjoy a soak was very much appreciated. However, I cannot help but mention that a used bottle of complimentary body lotion was found behind the shower curtain. As neither of us are accustomed to feather pillows and prefer the support of a foam pillow. A quick call to reception and we had a couple of decent foam pillows sent up. The soft and spacious double bed, the comfortable temperature of the room, and the tranquillity of the surroundings made for a wholly restful night. The pool, although relatively small, was perfectly adequate for a few laps before breakfast. Both the sauna and steam room were clean and spacious. Although I didn't pay it a visit, the gym appeared to have plenty of modern equipment on offer in a pleasant atmosphere. The changing rooms were clean and provided secure digital lock mechanisms on spacious lockers, hairdryers, ample space in which to change and private facilities, and complementary toiletries. The breakfast buffet was fantastic in terms of the availability and quality of items. There is something to suit a great many tastes here and the staff seem only too happy to accommodate any special requests. I made the mistake of leaving behind a treasured jacket and was very pleased to find the facilities team had located it and dispatched it in the post to my home address.

It is beautiful with eclectic rooms. We had 2 rooms (7&9), both are on the top floor with views of the high street. The rooms were spacious and clean. The hosts were very friendly and gave us some recommendations of what to see/do in the area. The breakfast was just ok. Not many choices and some of it was serve yourself on a large table. I think they should also offer a traditional English breakfast. But for £90/night, it was a great stay.

This is not surprising since our room was sited in the roof space and this does give rise to some interesting beams! The breakfast was tasty and served in a delightfully quirky dining room, (you will understand if and when you see it!) Polite, well-managed and very comfortable I highly rate this place. The only drawback might be the windy stairs up to our room on the top floormight be too demanding if you are in any way incapacitated. I would try to secure a room on a lower floor if this might be a problem for you. Its a little expensive but its worth the extra I think

The breakfasts were great by UK standards. The room was fine it was big. As with a lot of places in Europe that didn't have air conditioning and didn't have screens on the windows. We had called ahead and asked for sheets on the beds which we appreciated them doing I enjoyed exploring the grounds and the English Gardens. There were sheep nearby which I enjoyed walking to see. As a part of our room we were told we got an hour in the spa so in the US that means massage facial pedicure that's not what that means there. It meant that you got an hour in there pool jacuzzi area which I thought was very strange. And I figured if they were giving you a time like that that we'd have it all to ourselves not not at all nope nope nope nope. I've never been at a place that had a pool and a jacuzzi and they gave you only an hour that was really weird. But they did have a sauna and steam room also that counted in the meager hour that you were given. Personally I didn't like that policy. There's not a whole lot around that area so anything you go do you're spending quite a bit in transportation. But this is the nicest place in the area. A great place to have an event like a wedding. There's things around the facility that tell the history of the building which is interesting to read about it was a hospital and I think even a prison. But either way it is very well restored my husband's company thought about buying it for their headquarters and I'm glad they didn't because they wouldn't have did it justice. It needed a lot of money to make it gorgeous again.

With a moderate walk, you gain access to the central core of this historic city. However, our July visit was plagued by the horrible breakfast fare. For the money, the management could really upgrade the selections. The main issue was the broken coffee machine. In the height of the tourist season why would you not make every effort to fix this machine immediately. We asked and got no satisfactory answer. Bad, bad, bad. The grocery store across the street was our savior. We bought some fresh breakfast items and brought them back to the hotel as a last resort. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The parking is very tight and limited. Come on guys, you can do better!

Despite the freezing temperatures outside the hotel was warm and inviting. Large spacious rooms with full central heating, many with views over the city. Spotlessly clean. Our hosts were friendly and efficient and the breakfast was excellent and included croissants, fresh fruit salad, toast with various spreads available and of course full english cooked breakfast. More expensive than some in the area but otherwise hard to fault. Would happily return if visiting Bath again.

When I went it was a special offer, so it didn't work out too expensive. I could imagine that if it was full price it wouldn't have been quite as good of a stay, but there does seem to be regular special offers. The location is a bit out of the way, close to neither the bay or the city centre by public transport, but would not be that far by car.
