They grow their vegetables in a garden next to the hotel and the receptionist was working in the garden and very friendly. We were exhausted from driving, so we asked the bartender to call us a taxi who dropped us off at the beach and picked us up an hour later. He was a treat! Funny, friendly and just a bright side to a somewhat trying day. Dinner was fantastic and the included breakfast was hot and fresh. You can tell the eggs are local and fresh. I can't say enough about this place and the people. There's also a great place to sit in the back and relax. Pembroke Castle was an 11 minute walk from here. We'll be dedicating a trip to just Wales in the future and staying here again as we explore that area further. Wonderful country and people!

As we were setting off on the road again we decided to use the 'facilities' both ladies and gentlemen's in this case and they were - here we go again - Yuck! Advised reception about the state of the toilets and they said something along the lines of 'Oh yeah, thank you'. So if you go there there admire the view and grab a few leaves off the tree to make your tea. Remember not to use the toilet and look for a better place to eat....any place?

We phoned in the late afternoon to see if they can seat us and was told that they are fully booked but if we come down around 8 they could probably seat us. The drive was about 15 minutes from Pembroke Dock through some twisty but quiet roads. As the name suggests, the place is an inn so there are guests taking up most of the spaces in the car park. Nevertheless we tucked our car in the corner and headed to the bar, where we were greeted with happy smiles and told that there will be a table for us soon. In the meantime we whetted our appetite with "guest draught of the day" which included a Black Dragon Welsh Cider at 7%+ alcohol content but went down very smoothly. The menu consisted of fresh seafood from catches of the day, so it changes daily. We both had (different) whole fish which was fresh, delicious, and filling with sufficient sides, even if presentation wasn't great. An a la carte menu is also available. The decor is simple and pleasant. I cannot comment on the accomdation itself as we did not stay at the inn overnight, but I would imagine it to be very handy after a nice meal. Overall, I recommend this restaurant highly even if you have to drive a bit of a way to get there, especially if you like local cider and fresh seafood.
