I took a soiled raincoat into The Clothes Doctor, and somehow they managed to make it more soiled as a result of the cleaning than before. They were willing to do a second try on the coat, but nothing changed in that go around. Very disappointing -- the raincoat is unwearable now and it was not when I brought it in to them. "The Clothes Doctor" is the perfect name for this dry cleaning establishment. The care and perfection with which they operate is unlike any I've known. Their goal is to return your items to you in near-mint condition. I recently spilled some delicious Cabernet Sauvignon red wine on my expensive white linen pants. Other dry cleaners told me simply to replace the pants because "that wine is from grapes that are a natural dye and the red will never come out." The Clothes Doctor asked that I give their specialists a few days. To my shock they did the job and there's not even a trace of the wine. Also, years ago when my medical doctors insisted that I lose weight, I dropped 50 lbs in a year. The Clothes Doctor's expert tailors saved my expensive suits, converting them from size 48 to size 44 flawlessly. As I walk in the door at The Clothes Doctor 2 or 3 times monthly, I anticipate the lovely smile of Grace or any of her colleagues. They're all so great!!! read more

I had a child's coat dry cleaned here recently and the cost was exorbitant. $48 for dry cleaning a 12-year olds coat, and they did a mediocre job at best. I don't understand how they justify their prices. My husband had his cleaned at White Cleaners, on Kraft Ave, Bronxville for a fraction of the cost and they did a much better job too. I will not be using Clothes Doctor Cleaners again and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

When my dear Italian dressmaker retired, I wondered where I was going to find someone else nearby. A friend suggested The Clothes Doctor in Bronxville, right near my home. I've been going to them for alterations for years and have never been disappointed. They take you on a walk-in basis, which I like. They have always been very helpful and I've been happy with their work. They usually finish on time--only once did they not get to my dress after a week, and when I said I needed the dress the next day, the seamster did the alterations right there. I think the prices are fair for the area. I've had several items cleaned, and they've come out very nicely. read more

I took my shirts in got charged extra because my shirts are bigger than "NORMAL" and require extra work, mind you I'm a heavy set guy and i never felt so bad about myself self ever and requested to speak with the owner which she told me that that's the normal price for my type of shirts and could not do anything about it.This place is very over priced. read more

For some reason, I keep going back to this place even though I feel like it's more expensive than the other ones in my neighborhood. The adverts say otherwise, claiming 50% off and such, but I have had to claim to be a "new" customer, just so maybe they can charge me more, saying that I am not in the system; for what other reason will they take down my name, and address. But really, why do I keep coming back? The place is nice, really nice. High ceiling, [also high clientele], clean surroundings, and very friendly staff. One very minor stain was not lifted off my tie the last time I was here, but my cashmere/wool coat was heaven to the touch, something I've never felt before. That part was worth it. I have yet to put on my Italian scarf. Anyways, the way to tell if a dry cleaning business is solid is upon entering, and you take a whiff, there is no smell. There is none. While I shall try other establishments of the dry cleaning industry, I'll probably pay a little more than average for now. read more

The quality of the alterations has declined and length of time to completion has increased. Me and 3 of my friends completely agree on this aspect - plus the pricing seems to have gone up (some times alteration quotes have been more than the actual dress). I brought in a dress with a tear along a seam that required stitching. The tailor effectively took in the dress to repair the tear such that I could no longer even put it on. I went back to ask if the tailor could take the dress back out along that seam. The gentleman behind the counter did not acknowledge the issue and tried to claim that the reason that I could not put the dress on was because I had gained weight. He felt it was totally logical that I had gained so much weight in the 24 hour period between when I dropped off the dress and when I picked it up that I could no longer even pull the dress up over my hips. Honestly, I am less upset about losing a dress than I am about being insulted by this gentleman who refused to acknowledge the problem. A simple explanation that perhaps there was no alternate way to repair the tear would have been far more appropriate. read more

Beware alterations not performed on time. I have used The Clothes Doctor for alterations many times; though overpriced, I found them to be reliable. Not this time. Dropped off my daughter's dress on Monday and explained she needed it for a special party on Friday night. Despite getting a ticket that stated it would be altered and ready for pick-up Friday at 5:00, the dress was not started! While the owner apologized, she did not offer to keep the dress and complete the alterations at no charge. read more

Shirts are pressed, starched, and folded beautifully. Buttons are not missing or broken as often the case with other cleaners. I dropped off several pairs of UGG boots for spot cleaning-all were still in fantastic condition. They were returned to me with black stains and the suede was unrecognizable. Over $600 of my money spent on shoes and cleaning fees was wasted. Don't ever bring your UGGs here. They completely ruined them. read more
