I booked this venue for my fathers 60th birthday, retirement, and my parents 40th wedding anniversary joint-event. The room hire was free which was a huge bonus. Although the decor suffers from a little wear and tear, the venue was absolutely perfect for what we needed. We made use of the Lounge Room which fit the party in with no problems. The bar was well stocked and reasonably priced, though a little more expensive than a 'normal' bar I felt. The toilets were very clean, tidy and well presented. There is lots of free parking available outside. On their website they also advertise it as a wi-fi hotspot. Food is served here, and can be organised for functions if you didn't want to do it yourself. There is also a games room, and flood-lit astro turf. read more

All I can say is never try and book the Lounge and main hall at the same time despite you making sure they are both booked because sonner or later you will find out you do not have both despite booking them well in advance. We have now experianced this twice, the first was in November 2010 when we found out no later than four or five days before they had double booked the Lounge and when inspecting the booking in the diary that the portion that had the information in black and white had been coveniantly ripped out and again recently booked for March 2011 again Lounge and main hall pre booked both nearly 12 months ago had gone there to present an official invitation to a friend then was worried when she said 'O' the Lounge asked to check the booking diary again and the words both rooms had been crossed out and found out they had again double booked the Lounge three weeks earlier without any intention again of informing me. Despite the club having these function rooms for free it becomes apparant when thought about, you realise the possible reason why they are free is that they are much further than most funtioning clubs of this nature and would probably find it extremely hard to survive today without them being free .As for the facilities they are adecquate for their puposes but in general the whole place could do with some renewed investment and brought up to date .Having said all this I can only say its ashame as it is a place that has been used by many friends and family for many yrs.Smiles and gestures do not make a business its how it is run and how you are treated and our recent experiance does nothing for ither. read more
