Key Issues: * Financial Coercion: Weeks before trial, after being told I had a credit, the firm suddenly claimed I was "upside down" and demanded thousands within three days. When I questioned it, they immediately moved to withdraw, leaving me no time to secure new counsel. * Admitted Lack of Motivation: On record, the firm admitted they had "no motivation" to settle because the judge denied their withdrawal request. * Misrepresentation to the Court: They falsely claimed I consented to withdrawal and couldn't pay, when I had explicitly stated otherwise. * Failure to Prepare: The firm didn't subpoena records, allow me to present witnesses, or let me review filings. They even advised accepting a settlement based on inaccurate income. * Billing Concerns: Unauthorized rate increases, charges for clerical/admin work, and billing for internal decisions like withdrawal. I also have a receipt for an invoice missing from their ledger. Bottom Line: Communication was often ignored until it was time to collect fees. Advice shifted based on my questioning of charges.
