Ones this size are no longer guaranteed to be a staple found in most shopping malls, and even more rare to find one simply off the street. In any case, it was nice to find this as we were walking along Cronulla st. as we were looking for some gifts for the kids. I'm not sure how they decide to 'curate' their selection of books, but they're doing a good job since, in spite of the smaller size, there seemed to be a book you would be interested in at every turn. For the kids books, there was still a good supply with all sorts of variety and lots of unique ones too. Very good attentive service, and we even found some niche things such as maps which my sons enjoys. Worth popping into if you're in the area for sure.

I'm a patient fellow anyway, but would check in with Turramurra Music every couple of weeks to check on progress. Every time I called they got in touch with the distributor and then called me back to let me know what the score was. They were apologetic for a situation that was out of their control, and offered me alternatives (which I opted not to take, after a lot of research I wanted these particular monitors and no others!). The day my monitors arrived I got a call to let me know. Within half an hour I had my invoice and made payment, and my order was shipped the next day. Turramurra Music were kind enough to honour the original sale price too, despite the four month gap! A very honourable trait; a lot of places wouldn't do that. Everyone I spoke to there was professional, friendly and knew their stuff.

I feel like I have to prepare a Marieke Hardy type opinion of whatever I am browsing when I feel more Laurel and Hardy. You'll hear him from time to time on ABC Radio talking about new titles, or illustrating how and why we avoid the demise of the independent bookstore. Pages & Pages is incredibly up-to-date, with new titles available quickly and read and reviewed by staff. It hosts regular authors evenings and lunches, usually in conjunction with local businesses, and co-ordinates a Book Club that meets in the delightful Bathers Pavilion in Balmoral. Local schools and charities are endlessly supported by Pages & Pages generosity, and if there is anything you can't find they'll get it in for you if it is in print. Now dare I even start on the children's section - we should hold Amelia up in lights for singlehandedly motivating our children to read. On her lengthy daily bus commute she reads title after title, covering books for littlies all the way through to teens. She buys well, and can talk knowledgably on pretty much all the titles in stock - if she knows a child, she will confidently point them in the direction of something new they are likely to enjoy, and if she doesn't, a few quick questions will give her the clues she needs to pick out what's right. Everything is laid out nicely, with various categories of books, Bibles, children's items, gifts, etc. There is even a small cafe with some beverages and treats to enjoy. Everyone I interacted with was friendly. The prices on some items were higher in equivalent dollars than what I could get them for in the states, but others were about the same. If I were living here, or had more suitcase room, I'd support this store on a regular basis!

It not only sells books but CDs, stuff toys, stationary and even jewellery. The store is very bright and welcoming. The employees there are very friendly and can definitely help you out with any of your queries. It even has a small cafe inside the shop and a mini playground for the kids. The store itself is pretty big compared to a normal bookstore. Everything is organised and labelled so for example, if you're looking for Bibles, there is a Bible sign that you can't miss. There's also a toilet inside in case you need to go! If you think that you're going there from time to time then I suggest to be a member (for free) so that they can give you a membership card. It's pretty much like flybuys where you get points for every purchase. They can also send you a catalogue if you want to see what's on sale. Sometimes they even send you a job advertisement in case you would like to be part of the Koorong team. Definitely check it out! The pens may come with a hefty price tag, but they're also so beautiful to write with that they'll make you want to pen the great Australian novel - longhand. Scrawling aside, Montblanc also has an enviably well crafted range of jewellery and leather-goods. They're the perfect go-to for landmark birthday or anniversary gifts. Because everyone wants a piece of a Meisterstück.

Anyway, this place doubles as a new and a second-hand bookshop, as they should, since the gems are usually found in the second-hand part. It is a small shop, but packed with beautiful treasures. I love that they offer a wide variety of Australian authors along with the international works. They carry a lovely selection of children's books, reference materials, coffee table books, and gorgeous gift items. There is ample parking behind the store, along with the front parking. The location is superb because it is just across the street from the Lindfield train station. If you are a lover of the written word, stop in to check out their amazing selection.
