I can see why they are one of the biggest grocery chains in the UK. The alcohol aisle boasted beers, spirits, and wines from different parts of the world. The prices seemed reasonable so I bought some canned mixed drinks since we weren't supposed to bring glass into the New Years Eve party in Edinburgh. The registers are plentiful and I wasn't carded. Granted the drinking age is 18, so there was nothing to worry about. Our tour manager later confessed that it was fun to watch us all scramble and that 15 minutes was an unreasonable amount of time for us to shop. Noted. Thanks a lot.

In the main part of the store, as well as the main food and drink aisles, there are departments for books and magazines, homeware, kitchen appliances and other electrical equipment and seasonal sales. If you can get in at the right time, you can pick up some good bargains, however, it takes a while to work out what the special times of the day are! Don't park in the carpark and go to the college as you'll be fined £75!

They sell all things snack based, including a fine selection of old favourite biscuits, multipacks of crisps, multipacks of tea, coffee and tinned goods too. Overall, it is a lot cheaper than going down your supermarket for such things and paying twice the price. Also, everything he sells are popular and famous brands.

Pound World is a magic place. It's full of tat, but then again, it has tons of great things too…read more For example, for medical supplies it's a god send! Plasters, painkillers, bandages and more are all on sale here and a damn sight cheaper than in most chemists. Think of Nurofen - about £3 or so in a chemists. Not in Pound World! This particular Pound World is of a reasonable size, and I tend to find the bigger the more choice they have in store. This one seems stacked of all the usual goodies one might expect, such as cheap delightful biscuits and snacks, gardening stuffs, cleaning products and more. They had a sort of half hearted Mother's Day selection of pink items, given that this occasion was fast approaching, but I must say it would be a depressing day, the day I buy my precious Mama her appreciation gifts from Pound World! No offence, Pound World, but she deserves more than you can offer! Pound World is full of bargains, but one must hunt for the real treasure within.

A huge Boots store in Leeds city centre, with multiple entrances through either Trinity Leeds or…read moreAlbion Street, in many ways this store reminds me of a slightly smaller version of Boots on Market Street, due to the many ways to get in and out of the store, and the store being pretty big and over multiple stores. The store really does stand out on Albion Street but for good reasons, the modern glass store and it is quite vibrant especially compared to the poorly maintained old building (possibly Grade listing), which is home to Starbucks across the way. The "Food and drink" section has a decent selection, but it is pretty weird having small drinks fridge outside of the main, signposted section, and with it being split into 4 corners (a square of fridges), the selection was typical of Boots but again wasn't as broad as other larger branches, such as Manchester Market Street. Facilities in the store did seem pretty decent, including an Opticians and Chemist. Decent Boots store overall, pretty much average to what one would expect to serve a large city, it doesn't tend to go above and beyond compared to both other branches of Boots, similar rivals and my expectations, however. 3*

Their Morrisons own brand food has really improved, for example their brand of curries are superb. The quality of the fresh produce has also improved, they are now stocking unusual produce and fantastic fresh store baked bread, it has been a great turn around for our local supermarket.

There are many tills and many self-service checkout points that can easily be operated, providing that one isn't purchasing something that they may need to use an ID for or purchasing many items at once. However, if one wishes to buy an item which happens to be reduced, they can not use self-service without manually typing in the barcode as it will not present them with the lowest price. Furthermore, the staff who operate the tills also need to manually insert the barcode into the system which holds up the rest of the shoppers. The staff operating the tills, however, do appear to be extremely friendly. I, personally, would suggest fixing this function which, by the way, doesn't only affect reduced items or other "on offer" items but rather other items too occasionally for no apparent reason. The supermarket does serve its own freshly-baked bread and cookies from the bakery. Today, youths were offering tasters of said cookies which lead to me purchasing some. They, too, seemed to be very nice and helpful people. The bakery is sufficient and the produce seems to taste very nice. There is also a Deli here which is a good thing for those who wish to buy fresh meat. The wide range of items sold here means that it's likely that you'll find what you're looking for. A long standing Morrisons supermarket at the top of yeadon high street…read more Very good sized car park (though I have noticed a bit of a struggle during busy times). And a table service cafe too. The supermarket is nicely laid out, you get the smell of baking bread and cooking chickens, but actually enter through the fruit and veg section. Full of the usual Morrison's value and special offers. It has a full range of Market street counters (fish bar, salad, chickens & pies, butchery bakery and cakes) all with staff on hand to help with any queries. My only real annoyance is that this shop has a separate wines and spirits section and an inconsistant policy as to whether you can pay for all your shopping together or if you have to queue twice. The only time this is good is if you go in for booze alone, as you don't get stuck behind a couple of trolley loads at the checkout!

The shop is airy light and clean and the food is good value and high in quality. The prices are very good, I would say of the big 4 supermarkets they are the cheapest and they do offer a lot of buy one get one free offers and other deals which is good. The staff are very nice and helpful, and the atmosphere of the supermarket is good, I would say this one is maybe a little more old fashioned but that is no bad thing. Only down side is that it doesn't sell clothes like the biger supermarkets do but food and home wise it is very good and a great place to do your weekly or monthly shop without breaking the bank.

OK so not everything's a pound, but in a way that's a good…read morething because they end up stocking heavily discounted larger items, such as clothing and garden tools, that kind of thing. They even stock electricals, DVDs, and so on. I'd be wary of buying anything here that could break, because unfortunately it probably will. I don't live near this shop but I've passed it a few times and ended up buying one of their bargains, thinking, that's fantastically cheap- then when I've been too far away from the shop to make it worth taking it back for a refund, it's suddenly broken, sometimes only a few days after buying it. Bear in mind that there's a reason why a lot of these goods have ended up in a discount store like this one. However there are plenty of items in here with which you can't go wrong, and if you stick to those you may come away with some useful stuff, without too much damage in the wallet department.
