I wouldn't say that the drinks were stellar but the barista was flying through orders. The drinks were good and the place was packed this afternoon... what really irked me was that the guy behind the register really seemed to have an attitude. There was no greeting, no "hello"... just "yup" to acknowledge me to take my order and then he stood there and watched the barista get caught up on multiple orders. Didn't help, just watched. I ordered 3 drinks to take with me and we won't be back. We will go somewhere different in the future with more pleasant staff. read more

This place was such a cool spot to check out! It's located inside the mall, all the way at the very end. The outdoor bar seating has only a couple seats, but that view is amazing! The barista wasn't very friendly. But my coffee was great! It's was called something like maple crunch. Just a drip. SO GOOD. Had a ton of flavor! We weren't looking for a coffee spot but saw the signs for the best coffee views on the lake. The views were definitely beautiful! There is not abundant seating but it worked for the small space they had. We each got an iced coffee and with flavoring - there was a lot to choose from! Wish we had went there before lunch because they did have sandwiches there, which I would've liked. My only constructive feedback was the service was not friendly. The barista wasn't rude, just seemed to not enjoy being there which was too bad because it was a nice little spot with a beautiful setting. read more

This is a super cute coffee shop in the heart of Lake Placid's Downtown. It's at the end of a hallway with a few shops on the way to it. However... the coffee was bland. I ordered my go-to, a medium Mocha with non-dairy milk (today was Almond Milk). The drink was bland. No chocolate flavor, no coffee flavor, not even warmed almond milk flavor. At a minimum this should have been a passable drink and easy standard to make, but it wasn't and the only reason I drank it was because it was warm on a cold day. I would consider giving it a second chance on the basis it was just a bad day based on friendly customer service, views out the back and the cuteness of the shop. read more

The view was incredible and very unexpected! The iced coffee was very good, and the sandwiches were great, as well. I would like to give this place a 5-star review, but the barista that was working made the experience very uncomfortable and unpleasant. We went to order food (nobody else was in the cafe) and stood there waiting for her to say something. We had to start the conversation and process of ordering which was awkward. When asking what kind of bagels they offered for their breakfast sandwiches we were met with a noticeable sigh and eye roll from the barista as if we were bothering her. Then half way through us ordering, the (I assume) owner walked in and the barista stopped me halfway through my sentence to yell over to the owner multiple times saying, "We NEED to close at 3pm today, I'm not doing this." She then proceeded to complain about her shift to the owner. It was 11am... All in all I was very bummed about the experience as we spent 25 dollars (still left a tip, kill them with kindness, right?) on two sandwiches and two iced coffees... Again, the food was good and the view was beautiful on the deck, those are the only reasons this got a 3-star. read more

I visited this coffee shop about two months ago and there are three things about this coffee shop that are worth speaking on, I'll start with the best and finish with the worst of these: 1: The View- There's nothing like a morning coffee on a patio overlooking Lake Placid. The Lake Placid/Lake Saranac/Adirondacks region is one of the most breathtaking areas in the U.S. during the autumn season. If you haven't planned a trip out here, do it during early-mid October! This coffee spot had some limited seating outdoors where you could take in the view of the lake. 2: The Coffee- Ok. I got a drip coffee, so nothing special but got the job done. I was caffeinated. 3: The Staff- Ugh this really bothered me. I have to echo what some of the reviews said earlier regarding the staff not being nice. My friend and I came in one morning before our drive out of the area and we ordered coffee and bagel sandwiches. We ate so fast because we honestly DID NOT FEEL WELCOMED in that place. We are both very kind to restaurant/cafe staff and love taking their recommendations, chatting if they want to, etc. But this staff. I mean seriously. They honestly dampened the beauty of the view because we were so preoccupied with how inhospitable they were. We ordered separately and both said thank you after our order was taken, after we received our coffee, after we got our bagel sandwich, and on our way out. And to a total of 8 thank you's we received radio silence and the back or top of their heads. Reading other reviews and seeing that most discuss staff is definitely a red flag that this coffee shop should address. I love going to coffee shops in the morning for a warm cup of coffee and a cozy atmosphere where I can chat with loved ones and enjoy the space. This wasn't it. I can count on one hand how many one star reviews I've given, and sadly this experience was so bad I had to add this spot to that list. read more

Offers coffee and tea and some breakfast and lunch items - sandwiches, bagels, oatmeal, etc. Also has tasty fruit smoothies where you can choose the combination of fruits. Service can get slow since they usually only have one person working when it seems like it's more of a two person job. The offerings aren't showstoppers, but everything is good and hearty and the atmosphere is really pleasant, especially if you can get a patio seat. Nice way to start the day. read more

In this area, the customers may be nicer than the restaurant workers. Anyway, this a small coffee shop with excellent bagels and good coffee - not worse than anywhere or better than anywhere else. The small balcony has a great view - but don't spend more than 3 minutes there without getting scolded for violating the 3-person limit - right after a previous group of 4 spent 20 minutes there, peacefully without commentary from their "Balcony Taliban." OK, I understand the rules, but (with a similar 4 people) after spending $30 bucks and waiting 20 minutes for an effing coffee, showing a little appreciation or kindness back to a customer isn't a bad idea in more polite words. I would have understood the same attitude had you discovered someone took a dump on your counter. No loss probably, but that brief experience isn't bringing me back. You can get coffee anywhere with less than a 20 minute wait. If the owner is the young man struggling up there, I'd suggest changing your crew and putting an extra person on in the morning. And add a couple of lights to the room - it might even cheer up the balcony gestapo you have up there. Life is tough - your customers work hard in their jobs also. Kindness is reciprocated as is, unfortunately, negativity. If you see more than 3 people on line here, figure your wait to be 20 minutes. Again, to be fair - the coffee is good, and so are the bagels. You may find smiles elsewhere. Lake Placid seems to be an area where the locals believe visitors should be kissing their *sses anyway. read more

Lake Placid is an excellent spot. Yesterday (8/5/2020) I stopped at this cute cafe for a latte. I was excited to see that they had a Coconut & Chocolate combination. I was VERY specific ordering an ALMOND MILK latte because I'm HIGHLY lactose-intolerant & also haven't had any animal products in over 10 years. I had the not very friendly girl read back my order to make sure it was almond milk & not regular. She hands me my latte & the first thing I see is a nice amount of froth. Which I love. But then I asked myself.. how did she do that?.. I saw that she poured some milk from a REGULAR milk carton + some SILK (brand) almond milk. I didn't say anything at first because I gave her the benefit of the doubt and thought "maybe they have almond milk in those large cartons". I was a barista for 8 years. I know for a fact it is VERY difficult to create froth out of non-dairy milk. The more fat milk has, the easier it is to create froth. & making froth out of the brand "Silk" is nearly impossible due to the lack of fat. As I walked back to my car, my stomach was in so much pain but I thought it was because I had a very light breakfast & maybe I was still hungry. 15 minutes later, my stomach was in a great amount of pain that I had to ask my husband to pull over because I urgently needed to vomit. I called them & the gentleman who answered insisted that they definitely used almond milk. Although he didn't even see how she made it because he was on the other side of the room talking to a friend. After I told him what happened he told me to come back with the drink so he can show me that it was Almond milk and not whole milk, not that they'll refund me or at least make me a new one. I told him I was already 30 minutes outside of town but he insisted on me coming back. As soon as I told him I was a barista for 8 years, he immediately changed his tone with me. I could've returned but I was already pretty far from town & my stomach was severely bloated, irritated & I had thrown up. It wasn't so much about getting my money back or them making me a new one.. it was about the tone & way the gentleman spoke to me. And the way he IMMEDIATELY changed his tone after I told him I was a barista & knew for a fact that the brand Silk isn't able to create froth due to the lack of fat. It's also the fact that the barista gave me dairy after specifically asking for Almond milk & even had her read back my order. She caused a severe amount of pain and broke my 10-year animal-free diet. While that may not be a big deal for many, as humans we have to respect others. It broke my heart. I have put so much work & dedication to this way of living & it was over within minutes. I've been in a great amount of pain since yesterday that I had to see my doctor last night and now a gastroenterologist this morning. I'm severely allergic to lactose/dairy & here I am still in pain just because this girl did whatever she wanted to. I would highly think twice before coming here. There are plenty of cute spots for coffee nearby. read more
